You're probably gonna upset some people with that omission.

For me it makes my top ten but I feel they left a lot to be desired especially with the ending. If they made an OVA they need to do it based off the chapter called Bonus Track 5. It wraps up the story very nicely.

Shana is the definition of mediocre to me. So forgettable and bland. Of course, I had already watched ToraDora before I tried watching Shana, so I had already experienced the best Kugiloli there is.

Anyway,

Baccano! op = Bebop op = Gunsmith Cats op > *

That is the official ranking ^^

Yeah Toradora has the best Kugiloli, which isnt saying much. Taiga is a sweetheart though as Ive said many times. She gets a pass.

I'm glad that there is a lot less to pay attention to this winter. More time to catch up on the past seasons. Sasami-san@Ganbaranai may be a potential dark horse for me, like Acchi Kochi was.

I don't think I've watched 10 different series this year, still haven't watched GuP yet.
unfinished series count in this voting, right?

I don't remember how Arti established the rules last year, but I will be voting for GuP if I can!

Looking at that chart, I thought Karneval was supposed to be airing in winter, but it seems I was mistaken...

Haha, speaking of winter, I was looking at Winter 2012 for my AOTY list and, in my opinion, there's a lot less to complain about this winter compared to last winter for most people.

Appreciated.
Heh. Seeing the occurence in a screencap makes it look much less erm, novel than seeing it described in text.

I spoiler tagged the link in the post you referenced because the scene really only works if you weren't expecting it I supose. (Can you please also update my post you reference and hopefully I won't destroy it for other curious viewers ^_^;)

looking at 2012 I watched all episodes of these series;

concluded;

Hyouka
Fate/Zero
Tsuritama
My Little Monster
Nisemonogatari
Sword Art Online
Chuu2

on going;

Psycho Pass
Zetsuen no Tempest
Shinsekai Yori
Sakurasou
JoJo

there were a lot of other stuff I dropped and don't even remember :3
partial list of dropped shows;

Magi
Kids on Slope
Eureka7 AO
Accel World
Kokoro Connect

I guess I can make a top 10 list now.

still want to watch GuP and Robotics;Notes. I think it was a very good year overall. Is there any other worthwhile show that I missed entirely?

Yeah, requirement for TV series is just that they aired new episodes this year. There will also be a note advising that voting for a show with episodes still to come means that one should be voting based on what's aired so far, not what one thinks the potential is for the future episodes. Of course that more applies to the two-season shows carrying over like Zetsuen, Sakurasou, etc. and less to Girls und Panzer, since the latter was supposed to be just one season but ran into production snafus or something.

Planned to be posted in the morning, so like 10-ish hours from now.

I see. Well, I'm in no rush, but getting a few gathered up wouldn't be a bad idea.

Sure.

The juxtaposition of real life otaku shenanigans and the idealised otaking fantasy made for a very cynical viewpoint of the lifestyle in my perspective.

Well it has been two decades since I've seen it, but I remember it more as the sort of self-deprecating humor otaku are known for loving. Not criticism that paints otaku as detrimental to society or potential criminals, but rather the "we're a bunch of losers lol" kind of thing, with the feeling of camaraderie that comes with that.

I remember chuckling at the erogamer guy. "Don't you think Hiroko-chan is cute?"
I had just gotten into eroge myself around the time Otaku no Video came out.
I'll always remember the first one I played: Tenshi-tachi no Gogo III Bangaihen (NSFW images toward the bottom of that page).
I was in college at the time and didn't own my own computer to play it on, so wound up staying up all night in my dorm's small computer room after everybody else left.
It was a heart-pounding experience in more ways than one.

I'm ashamed. If I voted honestly, I think I could count the number of anime I've finished on one hand. I'm really bad about finishing shows, I guess. I'm really close to finishing Tsuritama, Sakamichi no Apollon, and a couple of other shows but I just never got to it.

Well, I always have my backup list.

Silly censors, that girl is just having whipped cream!

I don't remember my first eroge to be honest. All that comes to mind is that the mansion burnt up at the end.

It was probably Gloria ~Forbidden Relations~ by C's Ware. I remember the game because it was so over the top and hilarious. You could bone all the sisters in the mansion, but then you would find out that they all actually want your sperm or something, and the only good ending is if you escape with the maid and burn the mansion down or something. Everyone else either dies trying to kill you or kills themselves or each other or something. Crazy shit!

I think my first mansion-burning game was Isaku.

I only played Gloria because I heard Hiroyuki Kanno worked on it after I played Desire and EVE Burst Error. But it turned out that all he did was programming on the game, so it was just another generic H-game with pretty bad writing. :(

Yes, even when it comes to porn, I'm a staff whore. >_<

Oh yeah, that name certainly rings a bell. I remember one of the older sisters being into S&M too.

Hidamari Sketch was fun.

First, I'd like to say good man (or lady)!

Second, I totally agree.

Third, this greed inside of me... This need to have it all; this negativity: This rot won't let my little petty soul not think that in some round-about way, you just called Hidamari Sketch a critical failure. I know this is my fault and my misunderstanding and I'll just have to deal with it.

4) Kenshin Himura outfit
5) Nanamori Junior High girl's uniform (Yuru Yuri)

7) Frieza outfit
8) Dai Ichi Junior High girl's uniform (Evangelion)
9) Royal London Magic Academy girl's uniform (Da Capo III)
10) Tokiwadai Junior High girl's uniform (Index)

If Fairy Tail was in the hands of the Bleach studio, then it would definitely outdo Naruto/Hunter x Hunter/BLue Exorcist as the best shonen adaptated anime. The source material of Fairy Tail written by the leader in the genre is not the weakpoint of the anime...but its visuals at times.

It is for the best that they stopped at season 2 of Spice and Wolf. Really, if you read the light novels beyond it, depending on your tastes, it becomes kinda
Twilight like.

Don't know if want.....

How many Spice and Wolf LNs were released btw? And what did the two anime seasons cover?

Can't wait for Kizumonogatari to come out. The LN was a bit action packed and I really want to see how SHAFT handles that.

Hopefully with some well done action scenes.... damn can't wait for Maaya's Kisshot.

SHAFT you wonderful bastards.

where is shark fujishiro ?

Oh totally forget about him because I was in "Masa-san!!" mode lol. He's cool, better then San's father.

You'll hate Kizu then. Unless Shinobu might win you over.

Kizu seems to convert a lot of people from the Crab, either to Kissshot or Cat. Kinda ass backwards that we get all this Neko stuff before the thing that's suppose to make people like her in the first place is even animated.

Haha, yeah I played Xenon looking for the Kanno experience.

Kawakami Tomoko was in Gloria and Isaku, too. R.I.P.

Funny, I never got the impression Kizu was supposed to make you like Cat.

Yeah, Neko Black and White is like 80% Hanekawa and 20% Shinobu. Kizu is 80% Kisshot and 20% Hanekawa.

If SHAFT decides to continue to Kabukimonogatari,
I don't know if I can bring myself to watch it. Just reading it hit me in the feels, much much more than Kizu.

Oh wacky hijinx. I sure missed you after all that srs bsns.

So fucking good, and probably the only finale this past year that didn't leave me scratching my head. Stupid writing aside, this show was among the most entertaining I've seen in a while. I feared thing would go down south as soon as it took itself too seriously, but the great direction in every aspect kept it focused and engaging. Season two fucking when?

I give DTL:Breaker four out of five Akus.

Oh hell no. I would never do such a thing.

I love Nazuna and all the Hidamaris to much to do that to them. You will see in my Honeycomb reviews that I consistently call SHAFT gods because of Hidamari alone.

What i'm saying is i'm just ignoring that component altogether (anything goes!).

Huh. This was not nearly as good as I remembered it being. Probably due to nostalgia-tinted childhood glasses where anything with robots and action was kickass.

I can understand the technical constraints of the era, but I had few gripes with the direction. For one, the dialogue moves way too fast sometimes. I couldn't keep up with the technical jargon at the beginning nor the ship's female crew conversations because the pacing is so erratic. Seeing as how it's the first episode, you would think that everything would be brought down to earth for the viewer, but this is clearly not the case.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the episode and the music is still very memorable.
