I still think "Two Discs One Cloud" is a better OT title

I'm diving back into this after a looong hiatus. I just fell off because the amount of content felt too overwhelming! Not a bad thing per se but I wasn't in the mood for such a lengthy game because I was in the middle of Baldurs Gate 3 (for some reason I bought FF7 Rebirth at launch despite knowing this).

I have somehow managed to avoid getting spoiled for over a year, thank god. I know it deviates from the original, though. Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Right now my best guess is

Tifa will be the one to get shishkebab'd by Sephiroth instead of Aeris

but I hope they thought up something less predictable.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot how much this game oozes high production value, it's kinda crazy how it's impact isn't more widely acknowledged.

Edit: Is the spoiler function broken? Doesn't seem to show up for some reason
Edit2: Nvm, works now
I played this the year after BG3 and one thing I disliked that I loved about BG3 is that the game doesn't just let you roam and find things. Everything is tethered to the one shall not be named (Chadley). I remember getting out of the first city and being like "Right. Time to explore this open world." Nope. You can travel to different locations, but they aren't open or even acknowledgeable until you meet and go through Chadley process. I was gutted. I still overall enjoyed most of the side content, but I really wish they would allow the player to just explore and come across things on their own with more varied content. I want to come across a location and NOT know what it's for and what to do there so I can explore and be like, "Oh damn, I just unlocked a summon." BG3 did that so well. No matter where in the world you went there was some unique experience to be had. Surprisingly Dragon Quest 3 Remake does this quite well (at least for the first half or so).
