so that was... a show. It definitely touches on neat concepts and troupes and commentary, yet the excution... could have been a bit more elegant, but overall really did enjoy it.
only issue is i didn't really find the idol bits to be really anything for me.

I sense much yuri potential. Show looks kind of bleh visually, but oh well, it's not a deal-breaker. MC seems like the best girl so far, though it seems a bit early to judge the other two when they haven't really had much screentime yet. Maka cameos are fun.

Same here. We don't get too many of those around here so seeing someone feel the Madoka experience for the first time is really refreshing.

Some shows are completely nonsensical and that makes animegaf say they are awful. Others make no sense and animegaf exalts them on THE LIST.

I guess I'll keep watching it. It's entertaining enough even if I don't particularly care about the card transforming whatever. The characters aren't bad and it doesn't take itself seriously either.
That and KENN seems to have the perfect wtf is going on voice out there.

This is fucking awful. There is no sense of atmosphere or tone. Instead what the audience is subjected to is a series of slightly interconnected scenes that are primarily used as awkward exposition dumps. None of the characters seem well written or believable but instead are shallow caricatures of old as dirt anime tropes. We have the angtsy 'my parents are dead. Deeeaaad' lead, the childhood friend, and the loli. The show wants to be this lighthearted work but the darker aspects just make it seem out of place. The direction is flat as fuck, with little effective use of lighting. Why the fuck would you have so many day sequences in a show like this?
There's just nothing compelling here. This is like a shitty version of Shingeki.

At least Shingeki had atmosphere and tone. Most of humanity is wiped out but it seems like business as usual in Japan.

Yeah that bothered me. Say what you want about SnK AnimeGAF, but when shit goes wrong there they didn't all go to high school afterwards and have awkward romance tropes.
