Black Widow seems like an easy movie in concept in a world with James Bond and Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt, we love our super spies.

If there is any justice in the world Wonder Woman will make some great money.

It was so good it actually somehow made me really excited for the rest of the DCU. Like I get it, there is a strong chance Justice League is awful and craters my high hopes, but maaaaaan was this a great movie.

I mean they just got to adapt the BW solo where Yelena is trying to be the new Black Widow.

700 mil is probably the ceiling for WW but my god did they need a critical win and they got it

No joke, I think the movie was good to the point it could revitalize faith in the entire DCU. The vast majority of people that have seen it seem to love it. Now they just need to capitalize with Justice League and DC could carry some serious momentum on their side.

If Justice League just ends up another BvS though, what a waste of good will it will be from this. Wonder Woman is portrayed SOOOOO much better than either Batman or Superman have been so far I just want her to be the centerpiece of the DCU

Funny thing about Rough Night, is they showed the red band trailer (F bombs, cocaine and all) at my showing of Wonder Woman. Normally I am cool with red band trailers, but seeing all the little girls there excited for the movie I did tell theater management that they may want to remove a red band trailer from the PG13 film for the next showing.

Talk about awkward.

That is where I am. Box office is secondary to them actually delivering a good film.

I doubt they agree with you

No, I think WB's actually very aware of that. I have a strong feeling that Squad was in some real trouble, to the point that the cut they had before the reshoots was absolute shit, so they stepped in to try to right the ship.

WW could also start slinging merch like nobody's business now

If you told me I'd care more about Wonder Woman than Batman 2 years ago, I'd laugh

Then again, I'd do the same thing if you said that about Cap vs Spider-Man

Looks like I'm gonna be way off on that BO prediction that was made before the positive WoM started coming out and I'm fucking ecstatic.

Just a random anecdote but our local cinema is packed for Baywatch. I don't think I've ever seen it sell out not even for Star Wars. All teenagers as well. Still think it will under perform but didn't expect this.

So it sounds like the Sony Silver Sable & Black Cat movie will set up a female heroes & villains team, their Avengers if you want to call it that.

My favorite part of the deadline article:

The pent-up demand for Wonder Woman is reminiscent of how moviegoers were longing for the first Batman movie twenty eight years ago. Wherever you happen to be, just look around and you’ll see women and young girls wearing Wonder Woman T-shirts and leather jackets; licensed product that’s part of a $6.5 billion merchandising revenue stream for Warner Bros. In fact, during the month leading up to Wonder Woman‘s opening, Ebay sales for her merchandise more than doubled when compared to April.

How cool is that!

Justice Leagues just needs to deliver a coherent story. For the love of god, please don't fuck up this second chance with some whack-ass editing.

Even then you have Aquaman incoming. With Wan at the helm that's gonna break out big time.

I will forgive Sony for everything if they did SpiderGwen & /or Silk
This is the rumor:
“With Wonder Woman opening this week, it’s a pretty good bet Sony is taking universe building tips from Warner/DC. Why?

Silver and Black is the setup for an all female Spidey-verse team movie. It ends with Silver Sable (a la Nick Fury) rounding up a team of The Black Cat, Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), Charlotte Witter (Stunner), Sarah Ehret (Jackpot) and Cassie St. Commons (Dusk).”

You mean The Flash movie that is stuck in development hell and the Aquaman movie that will wrap principal photography before Justice League even comes out?

Soft reboot im implying keeping stuff that works and ditching what doesn't.
Flash is so far out they can completely judge reception to Aquaman my then, meanwhile Harley and Wonder Woman are just about untouched.

I still think WW can reach $100M for OW, it would be the 5th biggest superhero origin opening ever

Cinemascore : A for WW

I hope Wonder Woman does well. Not just because of encouraging more female led blockbusters but also it's a great film that deserves success.

What's the next big release? Earliest I can think of is Transformers which is a few weeks away.
