Would Cameron pulling a Katie Holmes on Worthington in Avatar 2-7 be the meanest thing anyone has ever done?

Marketing probably helped Star Wars quite a bit. It was everywhere, attached to everything that had nothing to do with the movie itself.

Little bit too much on the "well, yeah, obviously " side of things.

Or am I missing the joke here.

A movie that few people loved, but likely had the most repeat theatre viewings of any film this millennium.

People must be masochists.
Yeah, I'd say those who loved it probably saw it a ton. I don't personally know anyone who decided to see it twice, but I'm sure they're out there.

Do we have any idea what the percentage of tickets bought are repeats yet?

How difficult is it to get those sorts of numbers, anyway? Obviously they're gonna have to be estimates - box-office doesn't know which ticket is a 2nd or 3rd viewing

I don't know if we have those numbers but I'd guess your average movie goer is going to see TFA 1-2 times while the hardcore are seeing it 3-4 times.

I'd assume polling would be the only way to gauge it.

well not really...yet
Does it freak you guys out that if you give Worthington an authentic American accent that he can't currently pull off that he would become indistinguishable from Pratt?

Dudes are secret twins.
Chris Pratt is a charisma black hole in Jurassic World.

Definitely makes Worthington in Avatar seem like prince fucking charming in comparison.

Outside of the effects/3D, I didn't much like Avatar. Maybe a second viewing 6 years later will alter my opinion? Or I could watch TFA again...decisions decisions.

What exactly was charming about Pratt in JW. Dude was a lame brick fuck in that movie. Nothing like Guardians of th Galaxy.

Chris Pratt is the only human being in Jurassic World that has anything going for him, though.

It's really quite remarkable how consistently you have objectionable opinions. Saying Pratt isn't anything special is one thing but so bad he makes Worthington look good? Yeesh

You could in theory track repeat ticket sales through Fandango accounts. Or each theatre chain's customer rewards program that ties every purchase to a particular account.

I'm not sure how you could reasonably come up with any kind of estimate beyond that though.

Worthington is shit in most films. But he was fine in Avatar. He also outperformed Bale in Salvation, so go figure.

Yeah, but Cameron also got a weak performance out of Sigourney in Avatar, so they cancel each other out.

No he didn't. This myth you keep pushing will never make it true.

He's shit in Avatar. He's shit in Terminator. He's shit in Titans. He's shit in Black Ops. He's shit in Black Ops 2. He's shit in Black Ops 3, and he ain't even in it!

THE NUMBERS MASON

So, TFA has actually had super consistent drops so far. 40% in weekend 2, 40-ish% in weekend 3 depending on the actuals.

Second weekend drop had to work with that 57m from the previous Thursday openings.

That's true, although I assume a good portion of that $57m would have been distributed to the rest of the weekend if the Thursday previews didn't exist.

Monday's number should be really interesting.
