WB really is lucky they have 3 weekends with no competition. Imagine if Jungle Book was this weekend.
Oh wow...Jungle Book opens next week in the US? Seems like it opens in 2 days here in asia.

Looks like 3.1m for BvS on Monday.
Bobby's avatars over the years didn't give it away? You live in Portland? Explains so much

I imagine the meetings WB execs are having right now all look exactly like a replay of the pig roast scene in Lisa the Vegetarian.
And they even cut the swearing!I would never take my kid to see BvS. It is simply too dark and adult themed.
And there in lies the problem.
Problem with BvS isn't the adult themed or seriousness. It's that it doesn't make much sense.
Hell, how about the fact that we have no idea what Lex's motivation for hating Superman is! Is he working for Darkseid? Did he only find out about Darkseid at the end in that deleted scene? Is he just super insecure? Is he doing this to defend humanity or prove his superiority?Well, that's the big thing for adults. You can do adult themed. The Dark Knight was adult themed. But most of it doesn't make any sense.
Can you even remember what the hell Eisenberg was on about aside from putting candy in someone's mouth?
I was watching intently, and had no idea what the fuck he was saying the first 2 minutes he was on screen.
How's your average, non-invested viewer supposed to follow it? Let alone the children in the audience.
When your big centre piece of the story, the one thing that ties it all together, is unintelligible and wacky, you have a problem.

The Dark Knight was 8 years ago... would the kid even have been born at that point if he's worried about this being too adult oriented?Did you take your kids to see TDK?
It really is insane. That relationship comes out of fucking nowhere. They never have a real conversation to get to know each other outside the topic of him being a symbol, or an alien. They just kinda wanna bone eachother after like two scenes.Aren't we saying the same thing?
Forget everything else, I don't even know why Lois and Superman love each other so much from the movies.
How much was the first Monday again? $15M?
So that's almost an 80% drop. Makes sense since yesterday was a regular Monday. How did F7 do comparatively in its 2nd Monday?
LOLOL you foul"What if, for fun, we introduce Ted Kord as Lois' cameraman?"
It would be ridiculous if BVS barely nudges past asm2 when it's all said and done.

Why are you assuming Warner execs care to or even know how to do their jobs?! This studio rewards failure! Speed Racer craters? Here's another 150 million for Jupiter Ascending thankyouverymuch!
$3.1m is prstty terrible. Deadpool is going to close the gap by over $1M a day all week.
Looks like 3.1m for BvS on Monday.
$4.5 million.Actually, I don't remember, what was Deadpool's second Monday? I was waiting to see it in the comparison posted earlier.

Problem is adult aimed movies are much more reliant on word of mouth and reviews to bring adults in unlike films kids want to see. It's not really small kid friendly much like the Nolan series. I don't see that as a problem at all. Marvel has that covered.
$4.5 million.

And that's $1.4 millions Deadpoll erored from BvS's advantage just on Monday, then.
It's totally going to tie BvS, release-aligned, in less than two weeks, isn't it?
TDK was huge out of the gate partially because of word of mouth from Batman Begins. Without the strong word of mouth of BB over 2005-2008 TDK wouldn't have done nearly as well. BB didn't set the boxoffice on fire but word spread that it was great and did very well on home video which helped give TDK the launch pad it bad.TDK was pretty much a blockbuster out of the gate. So, no. Kids movies are just as reliant on WOM and reviews because adults bring the kids. Any movie needs WOM.

What if Batman and Superman just arent that popular anymore?

Doubt that, bad movie is a bad movie, and WOM can kill any movie momentum..

What if people are just bored with super hero movies?
Andmakes less money than this?Civil War
Oh yeah Deadpool nvm.
What a time we live in when grossing nearly 700 mil in two weeks is a huge disappointment.
I'm not sure. Look at Civil War. Was there any introduction to Spider Man? Nope. Black Panter? Nope either.WB forcing this shared universe shit before actually making a decent comic book movie is gonna kill their Marvel aspirations.
Love or hate the Marvel movies, they put in a ton of world and character building before getting to a huge event like Civil War. WB coming out the gate with Man of Steel and jumping right into fucking Batman vs. Superman was supremely dumb.
Kinda the perfect gaf name for this post tbph
People say this all the time but because movies are expensive, this is actually a huge disappointment in many ways.

I don't think it'sabout world building. The Batman v Superman set up worked well on it's own as jumping point for the whole franchise. None of those superhero characters is complex enough to require full movie of their own before team up. The quality of the movie is the only problem. If they would make a good BvS nobody would care about very fast pace of world building.
Spidey at this point doesn't need an introduction story any more though. For all we know, Black Panther could get a brief origin in the movie.
Meanwhile BvS tries to tell a Superman story while also introducing Batman & Wonder Woman, and also teasing Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, and future Justice League stuff. BvS was so stuffed with "shared universe" stuff that even Iron Man 2 looks tame in comparison.
Looks like 3.1m for BvS on Monday.
