I prepayed for the X Box version... I have heard conflicting reports about online play. Does anyone know for sure?

I'd like to know what engine revision they're using for the US version. If its PES4 in 60hz then there will be a lot of slowdown (unplayable in certain stadiums on PS2, not sure about Xbox). The J league version is better...im hoping konami use that revision and update rosters.

No slowdowns in the Xbox version, but I've heard that the US version will not have online play. If so, STUPID !

I'll have to keep that in mind... If the X Box one has framerate issues I'll get the PS2 version. That's more important to me than online.

I don't care, I don't buy anything but the JPN versions of WE games. Until the other versions get someone the likes of John Kabira doing the play by play I'm not interested

I don't give a shit about online play, since it sucks ass anyway and this is one of the few sports games that doesn't need it to still be a great game.

This is the only game all year that I will buy the day it comes out. I will probably get it for PS2 b/c there is no way I can switch from the DS2 after the hundreds of hours I've played with it (unless I got an adapter for the X-Box, which I will do if I find out the X-Box version is significantly better).

Either way, can't freaking wait.

Anyone got any concrete info about the difference between the PS2 and Xbox versions? I've been a loyal fan of the series since Winning Eleven 4 on the PSone and I can't imagine using any other controller but the DS2 for it. It would take quite a bit for me to switch to the Xbox version.

What I heard for WE8 for US is.. pretty much same deal with PES4 as far as game mechanic is concerned. Perhaps a bit of update for the roster, but I am not sure it will be as updated as LE version which is coming out in Japan in March 3rd. LE, on the other hand is known to have fundamentally updated player animations, updates and other goodies besides online play, which will be the biggest merit for me.

Last time was similar - WE7 JP - PES3 - WE7 Inter (US) - WE7 Inter (Kor) - WE7 Inter (JP). WE7 Int (JP) was the most updated one, to the degree of saying "final evolution" ish. I am assuming that LE will be the same + online play.

Actually I was amazed at how quickly even my non soccer/football loving friends took up the game. I have a friend who has never watched a match in his life and I introduced him to the series in WE6 and he now buys the game yearly and we have day-long marathons (sometimes along with a couple other friends as well).

There is NO slowdown whatsoever on the Xbox version, and there is some on the PS2 version. At least in PES4.

Yes there is slowdowns in the PS2-version, but it can be reduced a bit by playing it in 50Hz.

I wonder if they fixed that for the NA release, probably not going on past experience. Adapter here I come.
