Not a chance. Considering how much money they make from GTA Online, theres zero excuse to arbitrarily increase the base price of the game.

I look forward to not buying a Rockstar game for console on launch only to rebuy it for PC a year or two later.

This is a very interesting topic. Not because of the game itself but about the sensibility of the hardcore market for the price of the games. There is something like that in RE too, and both show similar results. No winning comfortably and very low participation for the two biggest forums out there. So people aren’t even entertaining the idea of more expensive games (even when costs are increasing gen to gen by a multiplying factor). Gamers aren’t even considering this a serious possibility.

Yep, but I'm also of the opinion that games offer more value per dollar than any other media and they've been too cheap for too long.

Considering GTA5 has been as cheap as $20 and I still haven't bought it, hell no lol.

And I want to be clear here: No game is worth $100 to me. Not a Chrono Trigger remake, not Xenoblade 4, nothing.

Id gladly give Rockstar 100 just to kill their shitty launcher.

For GTA? No, but id pay 100+ for good games and i dont care that GTAV was a parody thats bad on purpose, bad on purpose is still bad.

Pay 100$ to beta test a game?

Ah ah.. NO.

I'll buy it a year later when it's on sale for 20$, with all (most of) the performance issues and bugs patched.

Everyone saying no is a goddamn liar lol
I jave never bought a gta at full price so no im not lying. Gta is a game i like to check out because i do recognize that it is a masterpiece in many aspects. But the gameplay is ass and i never finish them so i have no interest in buying it day one.

I wouldn't even pay $100 for the next Fromsoft game, and I like those exponentially more than anything Rockstar does.

People are still playing GTAV after years and years and years. I can’t argue with the value proposition. It’s the games that’ll try it right after they do it that I’d laugh at.

That being said… they shouldn’t do it. The money they’re looking for will come.

It is my most anticipated game for the last few years. With that said, I am going to say NO! I find it absolutely nuts that gamers are spending $100 on "Deluxe" Editions of games that often include a bunch of useless bullshit.

I have no doubt, if GTA 6 proved a success at $100 the rest of the industry would soon follow. It would set a standard I believe would ultimately break the gaming industry. Just my take but you may have another.
You know you will buy it.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
this is going to be a disaster... i just have this feeling. and it's still going to control like pure shit lol.

NES games were $49.99 new which is $120.00 today. These games had an actual circuit board, two ROM chips, a lockout, and often an "MMC" or co-processor. The going rate has to go up so that AAA's don't need to sell 10 million or have all the microtransactions to stay afloat.

Some kind of Collector's Edition, if it was good and filled with stuff, I would be willing to buy for $250

Standard digital steam version? 60 or less.

Sure, why not. I'm a console guy and I keep the industry afloat by buying new games at full price, not a PC guy getting by on .99 cent humble bundle and my 15 dollar a month wow sub or a gamepass guy who just pays MS 99 cents a year until it runs out in 2046.

Everyone who said yes is probably a Playstation/Nintendo gamer and that's something to be proud of. Without us, the rest of you would have no penny games to buy in 10 years, and then you wouldn't be able to afford your 5090.

Wanna know the funniest part? I don't even like GTA. I just get fomo.

Thank you mister, we need more brave people like you that want to pay more, god bless.

Honestly, yes if it’s any good. But I want to say no because I don’t want to normalize this price point. I think only Rockstar can price it that high and get away with it.

I don't know why people want Rockstar or think they deserved to raise the price of their game to $100.

They will probably break even day 1 and not to mention the online mode that will keep them fed by sharks for another decade to come.

I know that extra $20 is not going to the developers that worked hard the past decade actually making the game.
