Kinda hard to tell where it will slot in in the iPhoto/Aperture space since it looked so plain and basic seeing as how it won't be out until 2015.
It's likely going to replace iPhoto, but more importantly it's putting in place a universal "photo library" that any app can access, just like in iOS. That'll be a huge boon for *any* photo-editing app and make it easier for Aperture to keep operating.
Curious to see whether Apple's removing Photo Booth and face-tagging/facial recognition, but it's likely that Aperture will stick around, IMO. The universal photo library and Photos in the Cloud (and the nondestructive edit stuff) makes it *more* likely that Aperture will stick around, IMO.
