Xb1/PS4 owners, are you happy with your purchase or regret it?

Regretting PS4 pretty hard. Just sitting there collecting dust. Knack sucks, BF4 is BF4, Madden is the utmost piece of garbage, and KZ couldn't be more boring. Enjoying Resogun for the few hours I played. Granted I only really bought it for MLB 14, but that May release date is killing me.

LOVE my XBONE though
Man, we're exact opposites. I've enjoyed my PS4 a lot, but I've not touched my Xbone in months. I just do not enjoy using it.

Per OP's question, I regret my Xbone purchase, but not my PS4 purchase.

I don't regret my PS4 purchase, because when you buy a console at launch you know you're in it for the long haul and the console-defining games aren't going to be there at the start. I am still waiting for that killer-app title to play, but so far I've really enjoyed the PS+ freebies and the free ports of PS3 games, Shadow Fall's multiplayer is fun enough, and watching people livestreaming is strangely addictive (Outlast+cam=gold). I like how fluid the OS is as well, which is a marked improvement from the PS3. I've yet to actually buy more than one game for the system, because the prices are still pretty outrageous here in the UK, so I'm waiting on deals and reductions, but yeah, I'm pretty chuffed with my purchase. Still very early days though.

Absolutely love my PS4 and I'm extremely excited for it's future.

That's the key thing yeah, I'm excited for its future. Second Son, DriveClub, Watch Dogs, Rime, The Evil Within, Murdered: Soul Suspects, The Order, etc - there's a lot to look forward to.

I haven't really played much on my PS4 since the month or so after launch, but I don't regret it.

Ditto. Tomb Raider: DE was the first time I used PS4 to play a game since mid-December. Software is starting to pick up though with Infamous next month, FFXIV in April and The Show.

Really should have waited on Xbox One though. Given the potential for a price drop and the fact that Titanfall is the only game with a release date I plan to buy for it, probably wasn't the wisest purchase I've ever made.

Sold my Xbox One after a couple weeks.

Bought a PS4, haven't looked back I love it a true gaming machine is all I wanted. The only game I miss on the bone is Killer Instinct.

Im about sell my Xbox and i'm thinking about getting a PS4 now, or get it later when there is more games to play on it.

I would like to keep the Xbox and get the PS4 later, but I feel there are not many reasons to own both now.

Own both and they have been great so far. I have no issues with jumping in early on next-gen.

Getting a little more gaming out of my Xbone at the moment. I expect that to change when more Sony exclusives start hitting.

I love my PS4, that's for sure. Great games are coming, so I have absolutely no problems. Oh, the horrible wifi, how could I forget that.

Off topic: It seems that my PS4 is having some problems, it lags sometimes (In BF4), when I'm browsing, some artifacts pop up, and in some games I get texture streaming (and it takes a while for textures to load). It's that normal? Or should I have it ckeck?

It's only February. I like it thus far. The controller's light is stupid and I don't see why I have to put up with it.

I actually enjoyed Cod no. 999. And Killzone 10. The music in KZ was awesome.

Xbox One - bought it only for Killer Instinct and generally very happy indeed with that. Haven't played much else - gave Forza a go but felt very meh to me. My girlfriend played Zoo Tycoon for a bit. We want to play Dead Rising at some point.

PS4 - bought it just because it's PS4 and it's slick -- but honest truth is it has only been turned on once or twice to play Killzone, which was promising but I haven't got around to going back to it yet, I might at some point. Oh and there's an IGN App on there which I helped launch so that was kind of "research". Overall, PS4 is not something I am using at all at present but I have a lot of faith there will be something that comes along that makes me glad I bought it.

Fact is my gf and I played *way* more GTA V around timing of launch consoles and holiday period than anything on the new consoles themselves. :)

PS4 and very happy. For me this is the first generation of consoles where devs and artists can really realise their ideas and art without real limitations and without their beautiful art being destroyed by jaggies and low res assets. I realise there ARE still limitations, but i think they feel free to go berserk now and most can be achieved.

The PS4 is a fast and simple gaming console. The controller, asside from the thumbstick rubber issue, is fantastic.
The games i've played thus far are a nice indication of what amazing games there are to come. I love the fidelity and all the extra attention that makes the experience more immersive.

I think we'll get to play a lot of amazing games this gen on the PS4. I can understand if people wait to buy one when there are more "next gen" games.
But i'm allready happy with the games i've played thus far.

Can't wait for E3.

Also very happy with the WiiU, by the way. I bought it for first party games and i've had a lot of fun with them and they look pretty great for the hardware and power available. And in good framerate. Love the gamepad.

Probably should have waited to buy a PS4. I have so many games to play, I don't have time to finish the only one I have on it. And more are incoming that I want to try out.

I'm just happy I have a decent Netflix machine and a bluray player on top of a gaming console.

I got a PS4 at launch, X1 a few weeks back. I don't regret either, but I can say I'm enjoying my X1 way way more than I thought I would. I wish all the drama surrounding it would just go away and people could enjoy each for their own strengths.

Use the PS4 every day. Still playing through AC4 and have Outlast to finish. I use it every day as a Netflix and Amazon player. The occasional Blu-ray too.

Perfectly happy with PS4. I didn't plan to buy it until after inFamous at earliest but spotting it in stock in UK mid-Jan I couldn't resist. Very much like the simple and ultra fast OS and happy with design of both the console and controller.

Played so far : Resogun (fantastic), Killzone SF : (average SP and decent MP), Knack (hey only Knack bundles were in stock, but actually its okay in a retro way and its my kids favorite currently so there's that), Assassin's Creed IV (didn't both with AC3 but decided to give franchise another pop and enjoying it so far), Tomb Raider DE (pretty damn good if no Uncharted), Don't Starve (fun enough but lost interest) and Warframe (very average). Will check out War Thunder soon. Also got Flower and Flow due to PS3 purchase and damn Flower looks wonderful on PS4 and remains brilliant.

Main gripes: really only the weaker non-gaming elements but I'm glad Sony launched with the console so game centric and with share/social element of gaming in place and am patient enough to wait for the media side to improve (and TBH I've been using my Smart TV for streaming media a lot so I'm not sure I'll even use my PS4 much for anything other than games).

Obviously there isn't that much to play at the moment after the launch-games, but I still don't regret it. The PS4 feels really good and it makes a lot of fun to play games on it. It was really time for the new gen, didn't like to play on last gen anymore and just used PS360 for must-have exclusive games.

And its future looks strong, so it's pretty much impossible that I could regret it.

I'm happy with my PS4, amazing piece of technology but at the same time i feel like i should've waited, only game i keep going back to on my PS4 is FIFA, which i could've easily played on my PS3. Not enough games that i'm interested in right now on this system. Hopefully for the next-generation systems i actually wait a couple of months before i dive in.

Regret is too strong a word, but it definitely wasn't necessary for me to get a PS4 yet since I haven't even picked up a retail game for it. Crimson Dragon and Forza 5 were my most played games in November/December, but I haven't played anything on Xbox One in the new year.

Sure, I might have saved $50 or $100 if I waited until next Christmas, but that's not really much money in the grand scheme of things and we only get a console launch every 5-7 years. Launch goggles are fun to wear!

I love my Xbox 1, the interface, voice commands, multitasking, and especially the controller are all amazing. I have played Forza and Killer Instinct a lot, and have also played some Battlefield 4. I got the Titanfall beta few days ago and it is mind blowing, I have already put 6 hours into just the beta. I am absolutely happy with my purchase.

Extremely happy with both XONE and PS4. I'll be playing most 3rd party games on the PS4 but Xbox definitely has plenty of good exclusives to keep it busy as well.

Very happy with my PS4. I also have a vita/3ds/wiiu but I'm still getting some good playtime out of my PS4 with Resogun, Assassins Creed 4, and FIFA plus I had a great time beating Sound Shapes, Flower and Lego Marvel.

I'm even happier with it as a long term investment. Can't wait for inFamous!

Super happy with my PS4. I feel like missing out on Tomb Raider last year was the luckiest bad decision Ive ever had.

PS4 day one here and no regrets. Been on almost every day since launch. BF4, AC4, and Warframe have kept me plenty occupied. Looking forward to Infamous next month and the inevitable 1st party exclusives that Sony will release throughout the course of this gen

Love my PS4 to bits.
Resogun has been played most days since launch - truly incredible, roll on DLC, finished KZ today (campaign was average, looking forward to starting some multi), loving AC IV - still got lots of it to get through, just started Tomb Raider which has been amazing so far, and Outlast is also damn good.
No regrets whatsoever, and I've got loads of games on preorder - next up Infamous.

Super happy with my PS4. I feel like missing out on Tomb Raider last year was the luckiest bad decision Ive ever had.

Same here. I actually bought the game on 360 and PS3 but never got around to playing them due to an insane backlog. Now I'm glad I didn't since I'm enjoying the PS4 version for the first time and loving it.

Very happy with the system. Just a few little things like the sharing feature not working correctly a lot of the times, but those will get fixed.

Not a lot of games out right now, but that's just how the first year tends to go so I'm not fussed at all.
Killzone was fun, Tomb Raider is great and I'm still playing Pinball Arcade and Resogun a heck of a lot. Just waiting for Black Flag to drop in price and infamous and Driveclub to hit.
Hoping we'll get a lot of new game announcements at E3...

Extremely happy with my X1 purchase

Already spent countless hours on Forza and KI, and i'm totally addicted to Titanfall with this beta
The netcode especially with KI and Titanfall is flawless, something that i never saw last gen

Also Dead Rising 3 was pretty damn good, easily the best of the series

And DAT controller, so good

Then voice commands, fitness and the fact that i can just walk in my room and say "Xbox On" wich will get everything going while i get on the comfy couch is something i won't be able to live without lol

I have a PS4 that I got as a Christmas gift, and I don't regret it.

I do hate how I haven't touched it in a long time. The only games I have for it are COD Ghosts and ACIV. I'm probably not going to fully utilize it again until June when Watch Dogs comes out (if its not delayed again). Then in August when The Evil Within comes out.

I mostly wanted a PS4 for JRPG's, so hopefully they come.

Why would anyone regret it? The console hasn't even been out four months yet, there's nothing to regret. Ask again in three years' time.

I'm a bit silly, I have an Xbox One, PS4 & WiiU and barely touch them. The PS4 is the worst one of the lot, with the WiiU being the best (it has had more than a year to gather up a library, but even then it still isn't particularly good).

But I know these things change, I like being an early adopter - but if I were sensible I'd probably not have bought the PS4 on launch, the Xbox One had at least one game I put more than 5 hours into.. lol (25+ hours in Forza). I know I was definitely going to buy all the consoles - so whilst it's a short term regret, I probably won't mind the decision to have all the consoles in a year or two.

Happy with my PS4. Using it to stream crunchyroll and play as many games I can on it.

Mainly waiting for Infamous before I really start using it.

Very happy. I have gotten enjoyment out of both, but play the Xbox One more often. I am hoping for great games for both in the future.

I got a PS4 and I don't regret it at all. I put 100+ hours into KZ multi, really enjoyed Resogun and Pinball arcade, LOVED Don't Starve, and even played a bunch of AC4 and JD 2014.

That said, I picked a funny time to start nerding out on older stuff. In the last 3 weeks, I've almost exclusively played Game Boy Color and NES games. Can't wait for Infamous but for now, I'm catching up on Dragon Quests that I skipped and really enjoying it.

My SLI Titan PC > PS4 > X1 > Wii U.

I have no regret buying them all. It's just I don't enough time to enjoy each one.

I sold my PS4 for almost the full price as I by far prefer the game lineup for X1 for this year (and right now). Don´t regret either purchase though. Console launches are always like this. The X1 actually has a pretty ok lineup for a new console if you count in Titanfall already.

But yeah, for the non-core gamers waiting a year or so will be a good idea.

I regret my Xbox One pretty bad. I hate the voice stuff that randomly activates when i'm talking to people online, the Kinect barely works for gestures, i own nothing exclusive on it and all the third party stuff looks and runs better on PS4. Also, it was super expensive for what i feel i got. Launch day memories and opening something new was totally rad and will for ever be in my mind.

Im over shooters pretty much, so Titanfall seems out of the question (I played the Alpha). Nothings really interesting me for the future except for third party stuff. Im a huge Metal Gear fan, so hearing Ground Zeroes is better on PS4 has me so close to buying one.

i have both of them and i'm pretty happy with both.

killer instinct is the best game on either system. absolutely fantastic. resogun is close behind though. funny that the best game on both systems are downloadable games that didn't receive retail release.

the only thing i don't like about xbone is that they turned XBL into a gigantic piece of shit. i mean what the fuck happened? why did they change it from 360? the invite system is a clusterfuck that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't and everything is a fucking app. if i don't accept a game invite immediately it just disappears. where does it go!? hopefully it improves with time.

on the psn side i'm very impressed with the layout and how quick everything is. my one complaint is that everytime i login it gives me "game invite received!" from prior game invites. makes me think someone wants to play a game with me again!

i also have a wiiU that i'm happy with. so thumbs up to nintendo ms and sony!

Reasonably happy with the X1 due to good variety of games and friends to play with. PS4, outside of Resogun/Pinball Arcade, is something I could have waited on until there was more substantial software. Everything they've released is something I already played or own on other platforms, including nearly all of the free PS+ stuff. Now that MS has made improvements with the Valentine's Day patch, I have only more software to anticipate in the short term.

Like my PS4 though right now i only have FPS and I'm fatigued by playing.

I want a XBO too now that I got some extra money recently. Any willing to sell?

I have both and have been pretty happy, but for different reasons.

PS4 has been my multiplat machine. The first/second party offerings (outside of Resogun) have been absolute garbage IMO. I blame myself for buying into the hype and giving Killzone another shot, but NEVER again.

XBox One has been where I've been much more happy with the exclusives. KI, Forza, And DR3 have all been very fun.
