Marconelly said:Dammit, now I wish I could watch the MTV in Canada. You have to pay extra for that channel here (protect the Much Music!), and given how bad they've become over the years I never even gave it a thought.
Yeah, now that I think about it, there might be some kind of live feed on MTV.com?
They are one-upping them, if you want to call it that, in the release date of the console itself, so it only makes sense to reveal it first too, IMO.heh, I know. It's just fun to see Microsoft "one upping" Sony, just a little
Honestly I have no idea. I haven't watched MTV in about 6 years as it does not belong to basic channels here, and you have to pay extra for it.I'm not Canadian, but I did have a chance (due to the nature of my job) to watch Much Music for an extended period of time. It really is a better music channel than MTV. (Which doesn't say much, does it? I'm too lazy to elaborate. )

What the hell date is this? I can't make sense of that. It's 12th of May 2005.

Is Brandweek a press release site or just a gaming news site?

Serving up a half hour, celebrity-driven infomercial with teaser ads beforehand on a channel known for fostering short attention spans among its viewers for a product not launching until November is a terrible use of money and resources if the product is really launching in November...
This is OT so it will be my last post on it: I can tell you that Much Music is definitely not that great, but I can't compare it to MTV. It's not a bad channel, but their music variety sucks. I liked the MTV in Europe a lot more than Much Music in Canada. On MM, 90% of the time they just play American music or Canadian immitations of American music, all four categories of it - Hip Hop, Nu-rock bands, Britney Spears lookalikes, and Anti-Britney lookalikes. MTV in Europe used to play all important American bands, and all important UK bands pretty much equaly. Here, I have yet to see a Chemical Brothers' "Galvanize" video for example. Hell, hardly anyone who's not REALLY into music, even knows who they are. I had a co-worker who was an electronic music *nut*, fairly well educated on the subject, and she didn't knew who Orbital are. Sad.MTV is a part of the basic package here, and it SUCKS. And it's something I hate to say since I loved the channel back in the 80s, and saying 'MTV sucks' is so en vogue, it's passe, anyway. But it still sucks. (like most of the channels - thank god I'm not a couch potato )

Given that some aspects of Xb2 design are still apparently in contention over cost-cutting, it'd be a shame to see them splurge on marketing like this but then skimp on things like system memory, onboard mass storage, and/or BC.

You're right. They should stick to getting the nerdy hardcore drunk at expensive E3 parties instead :lol. Well there is MuchLoud for some variety, but it is meant to be a mainstream channel not an enthusiast one and so they stick to what sells.Marconelly said:This is OT so it will be my last post on it: I can tell you that Much Music is definitely not that great, but I can't compare it to MTV. True enough. 6 of one, half a dozen of another...mental masturbation for fanboys on MTV saves them the embarrassment of being there firsthand to witness it.PhatSaqs said:You're right. They should stick to getting the nerdy hardcore drunk at expensive E3 parties instead :lol. Oh wait...

I dunno man, MTV has enough pull to make their dumbass movies a success.Lindsay said:Its stooping pretty low to have to go to MTV (dear MS...MTV isn't cool anymore). I call a backfire even if no one else does.
