I think people are missing the point of the referrals. People weren't going into that thread on the official forums and referring other people... anyone (last time I checked) could access it and refer themselves, that is what people were doing.

Beta is not live yet. It will start next week. This week is solely the registration process.

Edit: For those who haven't received a code, there's still a chance. A post from a MS employee on the ambassador forums states that they're still sending codes.

Update: 2/20 @ 9:15 PM: Hey guys, we've seen a bunch of questions about folks wondering if they've received a code - just as a reminder, both Ambassadors and non-Ambassadors will still be receiving codes over the next 1-2 days. So if you - or if your helpee - hasn't received a code yet, you should keep your eyes peeled for an incoming Xbox Live service message, as those are still being distributed

It drives me crazy hearing Microsoft refer themselves as "Xbox" like it's a company. "We here at Xbox"....

It's almost as bad Comcast using "Xfinity" in an attempt to hide who is behind the service.

So 10 years ago you would be saying the same thing about Sony referring to themselves as Playstation? If a certain amount of time passes is the ability to use a specific term no longer available to a company? When should a company start using your naming structure, is it defined somewhere so it can be shared with other businesses so as not to offend you?
