Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Still holding out hope that Deathsmiles 1 & 2 get the BC treatment.

Very cool to see Daytona added. Is it the same version that came out on PS3 some years back, where its just the arcade tracks? Like nothing from the Dreamcast release or anything? I might buy it again anyway just because its freaking Daytona, but it'd be cool if it had more than the PS3 version I have.

It's the same, so just the arcade tracks. The tongue-in-cheek karaoke mode is there, though.

Possibly a stupid question, but has Ninja Gaiden II never been available digitally on the 360 marketplace, or did it recently get delisted? I swear I thought it was going for $19.99.

https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/...cd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802544307d5?nosplash=1#

I'm pretty sure it was available before, and was disppointed when I went to go buy it digitally a couple years ago and it was gone. XBLDB has a price history for it on the store, but something screwy has been going on with that site the last few weeks and it says it's not even delisted (it is) so I don't know how much I can trust them anymore.

I'd really like it for all the shmups to get into the program, especially those ones that weren't region free so I could play those without getting a Japanese Xbox.

Streamed some Daytona last night, trying to chip away at my own best time (2'21) to climb the leaderboards more.

Really happy it finally made it over... Here's what's left of my wishlist:

#2: any and all of these

Please stop posting wishlists, especially with pictures. I was browsing the thread from the bottom and almost had an attack when I saw the cover of Soulcalibur. :/

I have realized wishlists are irrelevant, if mine appear, my wishlist will then just become another set of games I own.

Basically, I won't be happy until EVERYTHING is available.

Just started playing Catherine over BC, and it's really nice. I was debating whether or not to play it on PS3 since I heard that the cutscenes look best on there, but they still look great here and I don't want to have to plug my PS3 back in. That, and the ability to take screenshots is REAL nice.

I agree with Virtua Fighter 2, but you know you want some Fighting Vipers!

I have it on 360 because it was like $3 in one of the holiday sales and I couldn't pass that up haha

I heard that the 360 version had lots of screen tearing. That's gone thanks to backwards compatibility :)

Yeah, I had originally bought it for PS3 as a hard copy after debating which platform to get it for but then a few days later that deal happened and I figured "why not?" I already had a physical copy, so having the option for just another $3 was easily worth it.

Yeah I have that would love to play it on my Xbox One.

It also makes you wonder why certain games in a franchise make it over easily and they just didn't give permission at the same time for others; e.g. Virtua Fighter 5 Final showdown is available while VF2 isn't.

Something like SCIV and SCV is a bit different since it has Starwars characters and AC characters, but both those franchises are supported on BC as well *shrugs*

Started playing Monkey Island over BC since it was GWG and I feel like an utter moron. Is this normal for someone who has never been into adventure games?

What's it going to be tomorrow? The rest of the AC games, all Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell titles + Max Payne 3 + LA Noire + Metal Gear Rising?

These are the only games I still have on my x360:

Civ Rev
Contra
Deadly Premonition
Dishonored
Lego Indiana Jones 2
Marathon
Metro 2033
Penny Arcade Adventures 3 & 4
Red Faction Guerilla
Tmnt 1989 Arcade
Tomb Raider
Trials Evolution
Turtles in Time Re-Shelled
Retro City Rampage

I delete games I complete, or that become BC. Doing pretty well!

Spec Ops: The Line
FEAR
FEAR Files
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Assuming none of these are added to the BC library, will they be playable on the Xbox One Scorpio?

I was curious about something regarding Batman: Arkham Origins. On Xbox 360, it's on 2 discs. That's obviously not a problem now that Xbox One can handle multi-disc Xbox 360 games. But I noticed when I tried to install Batman: Arkham Origins on my Xbox 360, it would only allow me to install Disc 1. Disc 2 would only give me the option to play it. I couldn't install Disc 2 at all. So if this game were to become backwards compatible with Xbox One, how would this work if you can't even install Disc 2 on Xbox 360?

usually games like that only let you install the extra disc, and make you read from the other one as verification. Is there even a digital only version? If not, they would have to create one and change how it handles discs.

Unfortunately you're probably going to have those TMNT games installed for a long time.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you still have Metro 2033 installed? I know some people are down on remasters, but the Redux version of Metro 2033 is so good. I don't think I could go back to the original 30FPS version.

I'm not sure what you're asking? If the games aren't added to the BC library they won't be playable on Scorpio, barring any potential remasters. As far as we know Scorpio doesn't have full backwards compatibility with the 360, and will probably use the current 360 emulator.

Scorpio will have more power to throw at it though, so any game that was potentially borderline playable, or not playable, on the One could get enough of a boost to become playable on the new console.

I'm sure power is not the issue with BC. Xbox One has enough power to run 360 games.

Digital Foundry did notice the minor GPU overclock in the XB1 S increasing the performance on a BC title.

You could presume that more powerful hardware would have a more significant impact on performance.

Sure games may run better on Scorpio but I don't think any 360 game would be unplayable on Xbox One.

Add to the fact that all games that work on Scorpio will work on Xbox One. So if the games the poster initially asked about being playable on Scorpio were actually playable on Scorpio, they will work on Xbox One.

Nevermind me, I misread the conversation.

MGS Collection pls
I was watching a video yesterday and they mentioned that there's a secret boss battle in Peace Walker with a couple of bosses from a Capcom owned franchise.
They're from Monster Hunter.
These remained in tact in the HD version as well. So do you guys think that maybe Capcom is holding up the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection? They haven't been very prominent with the Xbox One BC program.

Sadly agree about TMNT.

As for 2033, I own the redux of 2033 and last light on X1. But I stupidly got one achievement on the 360 version of 2033 and I hate to have such a low percentage, so I keep trying to go back to it to continue on........ but those achievements just suck and have nothing to do with game completion, only kills with certain guns. Oh well :)

I've talked about Capcom in this thread before, but id say the current best guess is that Capcom makes money off those last generation remasters for current gen like Dead Rising, Resident Evil 4, 5, 6, and the upcoming Revelations, and so any title not coming to BC is probably up for a remaster.

I cant complain because id buy a 1080/60fps Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen in a heartbeat, but still.

I feel like today is a Max Payne 3 day.
