Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

You are just being greedy now :)

FWIW, I still play VF5FS on XB1 all the time. I was playing last night!

theres a post on reddit where some guy found San Andreas and Mortal Kombat on the MSFT store.

It'd be nice if San Andreas made it. I never made it past that "follow the train" part on 360 and it'd give me a reason to revisit and maybe finally finish the game (I didn't play it on PS2).

Really though, what I actually hope for is ToeJam and Earl.

Hard Corps Uprising pls.

I change my "hope for" to this, lol. Afterburner wouldn't be bad either.

edit: ah, oh well...

Funny thing is that on the Xbox One - Digital Codes filter on microsoft store, there are a few more games that aren't BC yet: https://www.microsoftstore.com/stor...8844100,4788844400&sortby=listPrice ascending

Barman Arkham Origins
Max The Curse of Brotherhood (360 version)
Skyrim
Watch Dogs
Mortal Kombat
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Terraria
Super Street Fighter II Turbo
Tomb Raider
Hitman HD
Hitman Blood Money
Dead Island Riptide
ScreamRide
Naruto Shippude: Ultimate Ninja Storm

This is crazy. Honestly, I have a dozen hours into Soltrio Solitaire on Xbox 360. Its my favorite relaxing game to play.

There are various backdrops to play the card games - a dark cave, a beach with a rolling tide, a meadow home to nothing but animals & insects....etc, etc, etc. Really, all the player sees is the same card game with a new wallpaper, but the ambient noise for each setting is fantastic. And the music is as chill as it gets. (And if I'm not feelin' the music, I can just stream music via a background music app.)

I'm happy. This is one reason why Backward Compatibility exists: for interesting games with small player bases to have a second chance. This title won't be for most, but all of us have that weird, offbeat title that we wish we could play again someday on Xbox One. And for me - today is that day.

I remember renting the original Army of Two from a Blockbuster almost a decade ago. Had a lot of fun playing it coop. Might see if I can find a copy.

Hope Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel comes soon. I have the digital version of that one, and it's actually a solid TPS.

I might actually pick this up.

Unfortunately you're probably going to have those TMNT games installed for a long time.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you still have Metro 2033 installed? I know some people are down on remasters, but the Redux version of Metro 2033 is so good. I don't think I could go back to the original 30FPS version.

I'm not sure what you're asking? If the games aren't added to the BC library they won't be playable on Scorpio, barring any potential remasters. As far as we know Scorpio doesn't have full backwards compatibility with the 360, and will probably use the current 360 emulator.

That's exactly what I thought Phil Spencer had said that it COULD do.

EDIT:
This article brings up the original suggestion from Spencer about full BC I mentioned, as well as his more recent contradiction, matching what you said, that the Scorpio will use the same tech and list of 360 games.

Is anyone having a momentary black screen whilst playing GTA 4 via BC? I was in a chopper last night touring the whole map, when i reached the ship docked in the yard where Niko first arrives in Liberty City. The screen went black but audio still playing, then 2 secs later it was ok again. I could repeat it flying from the far west if the map and back to the ship again, same issue. Is this a BC bug or xbox black screen ive read about? No crashses just picture goes black for a few seconds..

I'm sure power is not the issue with BC. Xbox One has enough power to run 360 games.

You can have the same emulator on more powerful hardware and end up with more headroom for borderline titles.

That's not to say that is the solution that MS will use, but it is conceivable that something that won't run well under BC on the current hardware could be released on Scorpio with the same emu and run just fine.

The Hitman games are in the pipeline according to IO. It's just a matter of if/when MS deems them ready.

What? I mean, it's proven that it has enough many times with the magic MS is doing but to not expect even better performance from better hardware makes no sense.

Follow the conversation. I never said we wouldn't get better performance.

This conversation was about a BC game working on Scorpio and not working on Xbox One. That won't happen due to lack of power of the Xbox One.

Knew I should have bought it when it was on sale. Been wanting to play this one and the game is super glitchy on my PC graphics card for some reason.
