Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Yeah, for whatever reason it came with the regular game and no Undead Nightmare. At the time I didn't really mind because I had the wrong idea about Undead Nightmare. I bought it pretty soon after it was made available on digital.

Still well worth the $20 I got for the incredible game, I just wish I would've at least got the GOTY edition for the $5-10 more it would've cost.

I did see Undead Nightmare for $5 during the big Xbox sale from November, I just didn't bite because my backlog was/is huge.

You missed a sale last week where it was 50% off ($15) on the Xbox Digital Store.

It doesn't matter how you buy it. Buying from the Xbox Store on the console and from the website result in the exact same thing in the end. Same price and same result. Once purchased, the game will end up in your "Ready To Install" list in "My Games and Apps".

As far as the DLC, it was on sale during Black Friday. However, unless you're willing to wait a while for another sale, if you're going digital you'll have to pay an additional $10 if you want the Undead Nightmare DLC. As mentioned by someone else, you can probably find the GOTY edition on disc for cheaper, just a matter of preference.

It's the disc version but Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition is on sale this week for 14.99 at Best Buy...

I just gotta say bravo to Microsoft. I never had a 360 so in the past few months I got to play and finish lost odyssey (FANTASTIC GAME BTW) and now I'm playing Blue Dragon (got it for christmas)

Blue Dragon is freaking dope so far. That boss theme.

So happy to have this feature so I can experience these awesome games.
 
Come on capcom where's Dragons Dogma BC??

I suspect emulation of this on the xb1 would finally give us console gamers a locked 30fps experience..

So far the only solution is to subscribe to EA Access to get them digitally (and for $30 per year it's absolutely worth it), but it'd be nice to get them available as standalone digital titles. I imagine it's a publisher thing and honestly I think EA might prefer to keep them on EA Access for the digital downloads
 
Where is the better place to play the 4 360 Gears games? 360 or Xbox One? Thanks.

I seem to remember a table of all backwards-compatibility titles with a column on improvements/problems on Xbox One. Does that exist somewhere?

All four are improved on Xbox One now. 3 and Judgment used to have framerate issues.

On a 360. "they are improved" but not perfect on xboxone.
 
Even though I have all the DLC for Black Ops 2 on 360, I found myself playing the Wii U version more towards the end. The gameplay just felt 'smoother' for me, and being a huge fan of the Wii U Pro controller, I really enjoyed the heck out of BO2 on Wii U. Nice to see it still has online numbers.
 
Reading Digital Foundry articles there were issues with the Gears games on Xbox One at launch. Have they fixed the issues?

Anyways I'll at least play the first on the 360 just because it feels right and I have Ultimate still to play on X1.

in the Bioshock vid he mentions he plans on going back to revisit popular titles like Gears now that they've been patched.
 
Man, I bought Blue Dragon to play it again on my Xbox One, but MS doesn't made the games dlcs available... specially the one that gives you the option to play on hard or very hard. This one is essential to me, because if Blue Dragon has an issue, is being so freaking easy.

EDIT: checking trough xbox.com, it appears that the dlcs aren't available in my country. I'll try to change my region to US when I get home tonight.
 
I don't like how the game controls on the xbla version of Nights. On the original sega saturn the controls feel more spot on but on the update it might have something to do with the smoother flow of the camera.

Since this is a 360 title, you may have to create a different account in that region to buy the dlc, but then you just set it as home console and never log into it.

Hard mode is great, but it is seriously old school RPG difficulty. <3
 
playing through Lost Odyssey currently and while I'm enjoying it, I find myself really missing suspend/resume of native Xbox One titles. wish they could figure out a way to make that work with BC games

I think when they complete all work on the emulator they will work on that.
 
I have been playing through Dark Souls on BC.

I think I finally understand why people like these games! I hated Demon souls, but this one is clicking with me.

When the XBLA version first game out, the controls were a total disaster. They felt like using the 8 way d-pad on the Saturn. They eventually patched it, so it feels quite a bit better--maybe 90% of the Saturn version. But it's still not completely spot-on (the controls in the rail section of Elliott's third stage--forgot the name--are completely borked). The Saturn version was completely built around the 3D Control Pad, so I don't think another analog stick could ever compare exactly. The XBLA version is a port of the PS2 Sega Ages port, so it was built with PS2 analog sticks in mind.

I would imagine they have some ready/almost ready that just needed a little extra time. I don't think they stopped all the work they had before holidays and are picking up from scratch on brand new titles
 
If I pay for EA Access, do the vault versions of the Mass Effect games come with the DLC? I already own all 3 games, but fuck me, ME3 has $40 of single player DLC that I don't own. If I can get a month of access to it all for $5, I might do that.
 
How's Mass Effect 1 and Dark Souls frame-rate these days? Last I tried it (probably 9+ months ago) they were both a mess. Would really love to jump into one (or both).

dark souls hasn't changed which is to say it's still slightly better than it is on anything except PC. played thru twice last year
