Can you PM me with the specifics of your setup so I can figure out why this is happening?

Does your TV say "4K UHD" under TV resolution? Confirm that's happening.

Also make sure your TV can support 4K in all inputs. Some EDID's will report the TV as 4K, but we've seen sets that only support full resolution on, say, input 1.

If all that is working, try to uninstall the Blu-ray app, make sure you have the latest system update, then re-install. But please PM me the details of what TV you have, and confirm your resolution settings because my guess is the problem is there.

Edit: Except Elite controllers. The Elite Line does not include BT.

If I got the right TV. You should be able to watch UHD-Blu-ray, as it has HDMI2.0 and HDCP2.2 , just not with HDR as your screen only supports 4K.

And nvm the deep colour it isn't relevant for your TV.

That's strange, mine easily pulled ~22MB/s on the update. Never had any real speed issues with xbox. Actual install time wasn't too quick, but not bad.

what's your fans sounding like? do you only hear the air flow or an actual "mechanical" noise. doesn't sound like my old oxbox at all

Yeah, this is why I'm confused as to why the movie isn't displaying in 4K. The resolution shows 1080/24p.

Anyone tried playing a UHD Blu-ray on S with a 1080p TV? Wondering what happens.

I went with the 500GB since I just want it for UHD so I won't have mine until the 23rd.

Hm, support say they can't issue the kinect adapters yet, but will create a case and do it as soon as they can.

One of the main points of the Vizio M and P series is that they are FALD. The last thing you disable on any of these tvs is the FALD.

Make sure you affix the two stand slide points at the same time. It looks like yours is on crooked as it should be flush.

I assembled it to show a coworker after I picked it up during lunch. It was scary pulling the stand off so I could repack it until I made it home later.

So if I'm shameless and wanna upgrade from my current One, do I have to do a backup or something for my data or do I just log in and everything's saved? Saves especially. I imagine games just pop up easily, right?

It's not technically possible to make a console smaller, include the PSU internally, and keep the same sound levels. That heat building up has to be expelled somehow, and it must be getting damn hot, even when just idling.

It's why I'd never use a console for media playback.

Yeah we got this debate squared away earlier. Also..I think game mode does disable FALD. I will have to check that again when I get home.

Back it up on a external or you will have to download the games again. With a external you just plug and play.

Man so the very lengthy update finished and now I'm having a plethora of issues. System generally is performing very slowly and it's failing to recognize my account from my previous Xbox due to believing that my profile is already saved to the Xbox (my network connection disconnected in the middle of retrieving, Xbox got locked up at a load screen, and I restarted it). Factory resetting now and hoping things go smoothly.

EDIT: process is zipping along after factory reset, just hoping that it totally wiped any recollection of accounts being tied to it going into this next run

EDIT 2: getting service errors, wonder if Microsoft is having issues or if my connection is problematic for my Xbox ..? no idea why it would be the latter, my previous Xbox One was just fine

Are saves automatically backed up to the cloud?

Got it. In one of the menus of the TV there is a setting for the hdmi ports. You have to set the port to what is called enhanced in order to get 4k out of it. I am not at home or I would tell you exactly where in the menu this setting is located.

2 questions for anyone who has tried:

1) Do I have to do any copying or license transfers switching from the old xbox one to the S?

2) For game sharing, will all I have to do is have my friend set his Xbox home console to my new Xbox? Will he still have access to the old games?

1) There is no license transfer, just need to log in your account on the new box and you'll be fine.

2) Yes

Also, don't know if it has been mentioned, but for anyone that still has kinect (there are some out there!), if you sold your OG Xbox One for the One S, you will need the OG Xbox One's serial number, the kinect serial number, and the One S serial number to get your free adapter. So if you are selling your OG Xbox One, make sure you register it on your account online with the serial number, that way Microsoft will have the info on file or else you won't get your free adapter for Kinect.

I know stuff like that bothers me a little too but were you really hoping to return it for another one for that? Just asking since you mentioned your store sold out and that is not a returnable reason in my opinion(truthful opinion).

Anyway should be able to be cleaned with the mentioned methods.

Can you provide more details about the bitstream support you mentioned? Will this mean direct bitstream, so Dolby-HD, DTS-HD, DTS-X and Dolby Atmos would be sent to the reciever to decode?

I also hope, that you mentioning this today, means it's a top feature request being worked on right now by the team.

This is a major blocker to the Xbox being my "one" box for sure. Would love to see them definitely state it is being addressed.

Also hoping to see definite info for Amazon HDR support and VUDU as well. VUDU app needs much love on Xbox.

Well in the past.. when I went from launch day X1 to my Elite... I had to re download everything that was digitally installed onto my externals. Anything with a disc was fine...

Not sure if it has changed but I sure hope so as I have 6tb of games on 2 externals... will find out tonight.

Got mine from Amazon. They shipped it in a box that is twice as big as the Xbox console box and of course the bubble things were all popped and it was flopping back and forth inside.

Took it out and got it all hooked up and it failed to connect to the internet (wired). Tried rebooting my router and modem and still couldn't connect. Switched the wire from the modem to the router and it worked. Never had that issue with my fat Xbox One.

Now it's applying the update pretty slowly (normally Xbox Live connects at 40MB/sec DL speeds.

Not the best showing for the S so far.

Will you update this thread with your findings, please? Maybe this is something the prior years' models do, but I can confirm the 2016 P-Series do not disable FALD in Game Mode.

Did they give an idea of when they would be able to? It took me months to get my wife on board with screaming at the TV to control everything, and if it is too many weeks without Kinect, I am pretty sure she will want to keep things the "old school" way and forego screaming at the TV to turn on, turn up the volume, etc.

Will be picking my S up in about an hour or so from GameStop on my way home from work.
