Wow, and this photo is after editing it to look better, these must look like a mess in real-life unless all that yellow is glossy shimmering gold which I doubt. I am curious how the in-person versions will look like when they inevitably leak out like the Oreo one.

There's actually multiple ways to get one, not just on Twitter but on Instagram and elsewhere, here is the link to the rules, https://lalweb.azureedge.net/public...ries-S-Console-Sweepstakes-Official-Rules.pdf

You can enter on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook for your chance to win one of these...Uniquely designed edition consoles.

I mean the left one bothers me the post, you can't even see the full word "showtime" because they added a pointless squiggly line in the middle. You don't need to use ALL the space, have some consistency lol.

Also 3 custom consoles in less than a full month, Xbox is partnering with everyone these days it seems.

why are they promoting SS so hard? isn't that weird?

Because there aren't enough extra Series X to do the same thing with.

To be fair, the Series X did get the mandalorean custom promotion console thing. Which is a sign that more X is gradually getting put out there but still not enough.

They better get that fixed by May before Redfall releases. If that game is a success they will miss their opportunity for more sales if they still are short on Series X stock.

But LeBron is teamed up with PlayStation. Now, I have to hate both.

To be fair, that deal was to Lebron directly via another agent who authorized the deal, but it wasn't via the Lakers itself.

This is a Lakers direct deal.

Microsoft better start buying lines to produce Series X consoles because it's getting ridiculous.
Brah, it's on purpose. Serles S is their base. Series S sold the most. Series S is basically everything they ever wanted, a locked down store front and GP streaming device all in one.
Series X is gonna be under-utilized all gen. Pretending they're going to do some big Series X push and ditch Series S owners is hardcore gamer fanboy nonsense. They care about the masses.

It's not like demand for Series X is that much higher than Series S, I'd think. Otherwise Microsoft could have adjusted production volumes months ago.

Either that or they flooded production with so many Series S systems that they're stuck with moving inventory out before they can boost up Series X units.

In any case it's a mess of their own doing.

Too bad for them the masses don't seem to care too much about Series S. But I'm guessing with these types of Series S promotions, MS are hoping it makes the system more attractive to customers willing to buy a regular model through brand association with, say, the Lakers or some celebrity.

I think that's more of a lack of interest in Xbox entirely then saying much about the Series S. If they had their first party rollin with game after game going to gamepass. I think a lot of people would grab a $150-230 Series S.

But Series X could be moving tons of units but it's barely in stock... I still think it would be outselling the S.

Maybe. That's more of an assumption. It sold well at the start by selling to their hardcore base. 3rd year into a generation is more of a casuals thing.
MS is probably choosing a locked down digital store with GP subs over more Series X sales. You don't lose a cut of sales to retailers.

Getting those big 1P games regularly hitting GP was one of the biggest selling points, so the pained struggles by MS to live up to it would negatively impact not just Game Pass, but also Xbox, which MS have tried making indistinguishable from the service for several years.

No one else's fault but their own. Let's see if they can start fixing the problem later this year.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
When will they release a decent looking special edition for people to actually buy ?
The Mandalorian customs are all amazing.
I have enough controllers already.......but they are all tempting.

P.S We laughed at them when they made the controller hoodies.......but now I really want a damn controller hoodie and the lime green controller to go with it.

Yeah, they can't afford to giveaway a whopping 2 custom Series X. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Uh, they are giving out more than two, you can only WIN one OF two. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to have the same contest on three different social media platforms.

It's almost as if the XSX doesn't exist to them anymore.

Mandalorian wasn't even a month ago.

Brah, it's on purpose.

Nonsense.

Otherwise Microsoft could have adjusted production volumes months ago.

Makes no logical sense if the issue is that they can't produce enough.

Better than the Oreo themed one.

I'm not so sure about that, but we need to see the in-person pics of these to be sure.

How is it not on purpose? They're the ones ordering how much to make of the Series S and Series X. There's no manufacturing issues now. They're choosing to keep doing Series S's and keep them stocked everywhere.

hemo memo

You can't die before your death
The salt here could supply a big city for weeks. Series S is in the title. You could just ignore the thread than spread salt everywhere. Xbox team is doing a great job marketing their console.

Wasn’t the PS5 UI teased by Burger King?

Wow, we are at a 10-1 clip. :pie_eyeroll:

More like 10-5. The S consoles are covered more and are more silly looking so get more attention.

Xbox warned there would not be enough supply, last holiday season at the same time Sony said they had produced a good number of stock from the holidays. Right after the holiday season Sony and Nintendo (which was always available) said their stock issues were over, Xbox never said a thing.

Very clearly the issue is the rate of the amount they are producing, not that something is holding them back from producing more. They aren't choosing anything, they over produced the S and had two months (and half of Jan) selling at reduced costs to cover the gap. Their rate of producing X's is lower than the Rate of S.

It wouldn't make much sense to discount your cheaper product with already low console margins for near 3 months in a row to cover a gap due to lack of X stock on purpose when that would cut down whatever profits that could have been made, if any. Doesn't really add up to say they did it on purpose unless they wanted to lose money on purpose too.
