IMO (and I am a big emu fan) it is the single emulator the world does not need at all.

But the progress is pretty impressive given the ultra-low interest in this activity.

So you say no one needs RDR, Gears of War 2 & 3, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Ninja Gaiden 2 and tons of other titles running at 60FPS/4K on PC and possibly being properly preserved for eternity?

I don't know if anyone needs those (other than Lost Odyssey), but I certainly need Nier and Resonance of Fate preserved on PC :p

This needs to boot catherine.
Edit:
Oh....

Haven't checked this in awhile, but desided to run it today on a few games. Couldn't play them but Vanquished can now boot and so can ChromeHounds

... Can it bring back the servers?

I think it's obvious what that poster means when he says this is the emulator we really don't need, despite it being cool.

The 360 is still easy to find for cheap, works on modern displays, accessories are available and cheap, and the Xbox One can play many of its games (and a lot of the multiplats have native PC versions that are better).

360 games are dirt cheap right now. For the sake of preservation or ability to play these games, yeah this emulator is far less useful than, say, perfecting N64 or Saturn emulation.

But this emulator is still far away from usable so by the time they polish it it will be time for X360 emulator.

Sure, but people were kinda jumping down that guy's throat and it's not like he was being a dick or anything. I feel like he had a point. I'd much rather see strong N64 and Saturn Emulation.

You can't claim to be a big emulation fan, then say that this emulator is not needed by the world at all. All emulation has to start somewhere. At least someone is putting in the work.

It's nice to see these videos using a medium level cpu and not some modern OC 5.0ghz 7th gen chip that not many people have.

Reading through the thread and seeing people posit that a 360 emulator is useless is crazy.

Emulation isn't about piracy or avoiding paying for currently available hardware, it's about preserving games for the future.

If a person sincerely believes gaming is a worthwhile art, then they should fully support a long term support path for all relevant content.

Does Microsoft need the source code of 360 games for backwards compatibility on Xbox One?

I hope the emulator will run all games in 1080p with locked 30/60 fps on modern systems ten years from now.

That is impressive. I feel like Vulkan has been a godsend for emulators of seventh-gen consoles. Both Xenia and PCS3 have improved a lot since they implemented that renderer.

Had no idea Xenia emulator supports Death Smiles 2 now on WIndows. You just had to edit a line in the config so as not to get black screen.

Arrange and X modes have slowdowns and few gfx issues, but arcade version runs flawlessly. If Cave does not port it to PC, I'll have this as an alternative.
