Annnndd with that. You are dismissed. New game for new system. Buy it or forget it but dont cry.Yes. If they can't release the game in a way it could run in ALL 3DS models, then don't bother announcing it.

Uhhh what
It's a completely different scenario here.
Pokemon has always been a handheld IP. Anyone buying Gold and Silver knew that whatever sequel comes out will be on a handheld (Either that one or a future one but a handheld nonetheless).
This on the other hand is a downport of a Wii title with its sequel coming out on your main home console. If you don't own a WiiU and want to play the sequel you're being asked to
Buy a New 3DS
Buy Xenoblade 3DS
Buy a WiiU
Buy XCX
vs a HD remaster that would actually improve the game requiring the user if they don't own a WiiU to
Buy a WiiU
Buy Xenoblade HD
Buy XCX
One of those methods doesn't end up making the user have to buy 2 new systems.

I can't even... It's not that hard to comprehend.
It's not a 3DS game. It's a 'New 3DS' game.
It won't run on your 3DS. Your 3DS is old.
Just take a look at the frame rate. Imagine how ass it would run on your Old 3DS.
It's like if you wanted a PS2 slim game to run on your PS2.
It's not happening.
It's like PS3 and PS2? So this is Nintendo's successor to the 3DS, like going from DS to 3DS or Wii to Wii U?I can't even... It's not that hard to comprehend.

The Wii is more powerful than the PS2 though.
People want to play all 3DS game on their 3DS, I know, a crazy concept.
Doesn't look that good graphically . and you need the new console ?
I guess i won't buy this game.
No, your browser is not loading the gif, it's current speed.

Except this is'nt a new system. It's a revision. One that sets a pretty shitty precedent.Annnndd with that. You are dismissed. New game for new system. Buy it or forget it but dont cry.
Honestly I'd prefer Nintendo not splitting 3DS base with no Xenoblade portable at the moment and saving it for the 3DS successor. From where I stand.
No updated 3DS = no Xenoblade portable
Nobody gets to play it.
Update 3DS = Xenoblade portable
People get to play it.
I'm not sure what is wanted here? This never to have been announced? Is that really it? Or to attempt to cram it down from a new hardware platform that is already looking like it struggles on?
If it wasn't a 3DS, they wouldn't call it a 3DS.I can't even... It's not that hard to comprehend.

You don't need to buy 2 systems. Because right now you can do the option below:
Buy a Wii U
Buy Xenoblade for Wii and play it on your Wii U.
Buy Xenoblade Chronicles X
Xenoblade 3ds makes sense for Japan . Xenoblade Hd makes sense for Europe and North America. Maybe both are coming
Great argument. Here I was thinking how cool it was for Nintendo to put Xenoblade in the spotlight of all things, a very moderate selling IP.
And here we are completely overwhelmed with negative tantrums.
This would be great, but not sure how likely it is.
Is someone going to subsidize my 3DS so I can buy one at a deeply discounted price every two years? Is Nintendo going to start offering a contract with their hardware? Sounds lovely.
That would be great honestlyHonestly I'd prefer Nintendo not splitting 3DS base with no Xenoblade portable at the moment and saving it for the 3DS successor.
The Gameboy came out in 1989, Gameboy Color in 1998. The 3DS came out in 2011, this thing is coming in 2014. Do you see the difference?
I can't even... It's not that hard to comprehend.

Except my PS3 wasn't just the PS2 but a little more powerful. It wasn't a system that would still have it's exclusive games be FFX, MGS2, or other PS2 games. It wasn't a system still using the PS2 interface. It wasn't a PS2 using the same PS2 features. It was a whole new system. It's like if you wanted a PS3 game to run on your PS2.
It's not happening.
So it's not comparable to smartphones at all, got it.probably not, because no one is able to charge you a ridiculous monthly subscription fee in return for subsidizing it![]()
If it wasn't a 3DS, they wouldn't call it a 3DS.
This is not a brand new handheld, just a hardware update.
Well you dont have to buy it, its not like you will miss anything its not like it can run on the old 3DS anyways so whats the point of whining? Xenoblade is exclusively on the "NEW" 3DS.. not 3DS, not 3DSXL.Except this is'nt a new system. It's a revision. One that sets a pretty shitty precedent.

Sure. Good luck for all of you, I want nothing to do with Nintendo, I'm selling my 3DS and will never buy another Nintendo console and by consequence any of their games, they might as well not exist to me at this point.
I wouldn't take this shit from any other company and I won't take it from Nintendo.
Exclusive to the new 3DS? I'm sorry but Nintendo can go to the...![]()

They called it a New 3DS.
Just like they called the more powerful DS revision the DSi. Also with games that could only be run on the DSi.
We're arguing semantics here. The truth is that the hardware has changed, processing power has increased and if they were to maximise that increase in processing power, it would be beyond the capabilities of the original hardware.
Ooooh now I can finally play this!
...but dare I get the NEW 3DS? Come on Ninty, don't be a bunch of jerks and lose all of Jim Sterling's good will and state that it can run on 3DS and 3DS!
It's beyond the capabilities of the new hardware judging by the trailer. They called it a New 3DS.

How can people defend any mobile phone developer and the fact that every single year a new revision comes out for said phone that has only slightly better specs? Because the money the masses still throw at them and their decision laughs at you and your "choice to not be like everyone else".

I only had a gameboy color and PSP and PSVita as portables before, I din't know Nintendo pulled this shit every generation, my fault I suppose for being fooled, won't happen again. You're aware that they've done this very same thing with every single handheld except the GBA? The GameBoy had the GameBoy Color, the DS had the DSi, the 3DS has the New 3DS. All of those revisions had updated hardware and exclusive games, despite not being a new system - you're kinda late with abandoning Nintendo for this reason...
lol yeah, a New 3DS-U, so to speak. It's like PS3 and PS2? So this is Nintendo's successor to the 3DS, like going from DS to 3DS or Wii to Wii U?
