2 was fucking shit
3 even worse.

Got X on the wii U but never played it.
So please play 1 and after that avoid 2 and 3 like the plague and maybe try X ?

I guess we shall throw the WiiU version in the garbage now.

That is what kind of annoys me about these remasters.

It is like, "Welp, your old game is shit now.".

You and me both but thats never going to happen because compare to AC, Xenoblade series is pretty much niche.

Thankfully Nintendo are not stupid enough to let Monolith Soft go just because they not "mainstream".

Well that's because Nintendo is pretty healthy when it comes to profits so they can make games like Xenoblade Chronicles X. It might not sell as much as Mario and Zelda but with that money from all their first parties Games that sell a lot more, they can make lot of games that are considered niche

I still gonna keep my CE edition on WiiU around, there is no reason for me throw it out.

Yup, I hope this game finally gonna be a million-seller, just like the other Xenoblade games.
 
Very excited to finally play this game, but have to finish a couple others first. I've got it loaded up and ready for when that time comes!

Jesus Christ, how is someone able to have such awful opinion?

1, 2 and 3 are all amazing games.
The only bad things about 2 are the "gacha" and the game not doing a good job explaining some of the combat mechanics.

The stories, the cast, the ost, etc... it all sticks with you for a long time.

Ehh 2 had a lot of time wasting bullshit like the merc missions, field actions that required you to constantly rearrange your blade setup just to make the skill check, grinding Tiger Tiger to power up Poppi, etc.

They patched it later to add Tiger Tiger easy mode + let you skip the Merc mission audio + core crystal opening animations which at least made some of the grind less tedious.

But yeah I definitely wouldn't call any of them bad games. I have plenty of criticism for all 4 of them but overall I still think they're some of the best JRPGs of all time.

For me it's Mythra but to get back to the topic on hand. I got both the digital and physical version. I know the digital version unlocks today at 11 PM. I'm hoping to get a good two to three hour session tonight

First epic JRPG I played on the Wii U. That Switch feeling of playing a game on a handheld was great. I also dropped it because I heard it X amount of hours before you got your mech. I was a different person then. 🧐 Amazon shipped my copy today.
 
my game was unlocked 9 hours ago and i think people will notice the heavy clipping issues
for me i do not mind as i love monolithsoft , the cutscenes are very awesome on switch docked mode

Okay been playing for 1 hour and already back in love with the game.

Just want to say in the first hour there is zero tragic overuse of dynamic resolution at all. All other xenoblades on switch get very blurry at times. XC1 Definitive Edtion was the worst, even if you were standing completely still and no action was happening, just by rotating the camera the resolution would drop to SD and everything would blur. I've been running around in XCXDE jumping trying to trigger a dynamic resolution drop and so far nothing, so I'm very happy. Maybe it does use dynamic resolution when the action gets crazy but normal fights and normal exploration everything looks fine.
 
Ok it's all starting to come back to me

well not really, it's a super complex game I haven't played in 6 years but I can remember some useful super newbie beginner stuff at least:

- Even after just 2 or 3 fights, u can start upgrading your arts in the menu. Upgrade the orange topple art to give it a faster cooldown so when Elma breaks the enemy it's easy to topple them more often. With these early enemies you basically just hold that art for when elma breaks them, topple then immediately use the yellow art that does bonus damage on toppled enemies. Soon you will get another orange art that does bonus damage when used from the side, indicated by a little blue exclamation mark similar to XC1DE's hud. Whenever you see a coloured dialog bubble above Elma's head, use an art of the same colour for buffs and damage bonuses. Doing all those beats low level enemies pretty smoothly
- While exploring, press R and up on the dpad to send a drone above you and look around in all directions, very handy
- When you sense you are near a cutscene, go into the menu and change the time to dusk so that everything looks really cool during cutscene with sunset glowing in the background
 
Well the reason why nobody played X on the wiiU is because nobody bought the god damn console lol.

Switch edition here we go. Hopefully it will scale with the switch 2 hardware release.

So far so good at 1080p/30 a few hours in. One day I'll play this game a third time in 4k but for now I'm just super happy it doesn't keep turning blurry with dynamic resolution drops like the other switch xenoblades
 
I didn't remember this but if you level up during a battle and learn a new art, the art becomes available immediately so you can use it before the battle isn't even finished. At least in the early game while you are still filling out your art slots

Can you try in handheld mode?
 
My copy just arrived... at my job, since that's my go-to delivery address where I'm most likely to be at during delivery hours. Unfortunately I happen to not work today, so either I'll go there later today on my bike to grab it, or it'll wait for tomorrow.

Press L + R button together to take a screenshot instead of the capture button and the screenshot will be HUD-less
