It's intriguing to see how dismissive a large contingent on GAF was on this game based upon a few import impressions. It always seemed odd to me how every XCX had a discussion on how disappointing the game was. I really didn't understand it and I still don't.
Oh right, it was 10% durability.I don't believe WoW has ever had a penalty as stiff as losing gold. You take durability damage to your weapons, that's it. It costs money to repair them, but you don't need to spend it immediately.
If you watch the Survival Guides on Nintendo's YouTube, you'll be pretty set.
Have you played the game? The thing is, this game plays more like Monster Hunter. The fan of those games don't really play for the story they play for the hunt & gear. I cannot wait to try to get the gear set from that lvl 99 dragon with a team of 4.
Getting XBX is like getting a Monster Hunter game with a more MMO'est type of combat, with less loading times and more Open World![]()
Quoting this again, because i finished updateting the OP with all the quotes from here (except if i didn't quoted the reviewer already), and the Kotaku link.
i think i got everything covered now lol
Yes you can use your disc save on a digital copy of a Wii game.A bit off topic, but since Xenoblade is 50% off in eShop, does anyone know if I can use my Wii save for it if I buy the game from eShop? The Wii save is already on the console.
Have you played the game?
I haven't (yet), but I don't really see much similarities to Monster Hunter gameplay wise. Sure you can get better gear and kill big monsters and cut their body parts, but otherwise the gameplay seems like Xenoblade's combat refined (and that was nothing like Monster Hunter).

I'm trying not to read too many reviews for spoiler reasons, but can someone tell me if there's a Japanese audio option?
There impressions are valid but for some reason everyone seemed to totally ignore the other positive impressions and the handful of glowing import reviews. It's intriguing to see how dismissive a large contingent on GAF was on this game based upon a few import impressions. There's definitely a deep story that pays off, don't worry about that. The story complaints are bumming me out. If i'm going to be investing such a heavy amount into this game I want some payoff.
Just a note: You've got the NWR review from July (Japanese version) listed. Can you update it to the NA one?

No there isn't. Disc is full.

Yeah, it's an odd complaint. Especially since, outside of battle, you can turn the HUD completely off piece by piece.I think the most bizarre thing about the UI complaint from Polygon is that it's focused on the battle UI intruding on the spectacle of the environments...which isn't what you'll be focusing on in the middle of a battle in a game where inputs are handled through menu selections instead of real-time button presses. (You'll be navigating the battle commands in battle, focusing on the spectacle outside of battle.)
so I need a harddrive for the data packs? is this ok?

Shame about the art direction on the character models :/My analysis piece is almost finished for the game! It has its fair share of compromises but, man, Monolith Soft put that Wii U hardware to work. What an amazing looking game overall.
This is what I got for my Wii U and so far it works great.

My analysis piece is almost finished for the game!.
The game looks amazing, but I'm not really into rpg's. Last 'rpg' I played was Ni No Kuni, but this looks far more complex and not easy to get into. For someone who does not play rpg's....would you recommend this?

The Kotaku review might be the best I've read today. It's very informative for people who are not sure if they should buy the game, it praises the merits of the game but exposes it's weak points in a fair way, it's easy to understand and isn't too long to read. That's the review I would point my friends to.
It depends on your time investment. I would say not being a fan of RPGs does put you in a better spot than most, but it does seem pretty unanimous that this game is beastly in terms of content and its various systems, so in a way, you're in the same boat as everyone outside of existing Xenoblade fans.

WHAT
ah...
I can't wait for this. Xenoblade was not wihtout its problems, but it was amazing none the less
There are NPCS in NLA that you get quests with and they expand their stories out through then.Sorry to keep bugging you Rikki, but I just want to make sure I understand because I only loosely followed this game because I got tired of waiting, was driving me crazy so was going in a bit blind.
You said some NPCs join from the settlement do you mean more generic ones that are kind of like a supplement to the cast (may have generic repeated VAs, random solider #107 type thing)? I see that there are ones tied to story or side quests as well. Is there an even bigger pool to pull from outside of this?
