YouTube: "Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube". Bad news

It's approaching being as expensive as the expensive cable packages. And it's only going to go up. It's getting absurd. And you know the streaming services will jack up their prices as well.

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
YouTube TV has nothing to do with this lol

It’s as expensive as cable because it pretty much is cable.

got me today too, untick ublock filters - quickfixes in the filter lists tab in ublock settings and restart your browser. found this fix on another thread and it worked for me. Im at the point of just not wasting my time on youtube anymore, when i watch stuff from my tv it's literally unbearable.
This is the final straw for me. If I can’t watch on my PC then I will just not bother with YouTube anymore.

Mine on Brave at the minute gets a black screen ad that doesn't load for 10 to 20 seconds then i can select skip and watch content, doesn't happen everytime just now and then, i use Firefox as well but not for you tube much. it's not that irritating yet!.

100%, even if it was a dollar a month I would not pay it, its a matter of principle. Google would charge you just to turn your tv on if they could.
Not gonna lie I probably would buy premium but not at the current price of £13/month. If they didn’t include YouTube music and cut the price to like £2-3/month then I’d go for it. I think they were trialling something like this in some countries.

Yesterday on brave got the message, but reloaded and everything worked fine?

Are they banning accounts because of adblocks?

I paid for few months of Premium in the past but when I saw current price: Fuck you Google.

On Firefox using uBlock Origin.

**UPDATE** - AdGuard Adblocker is working on Firefox.

For starters, Ublock Origin is now banned from Chrome. This happened a couple of days ago.
It still works on Browsers like Firefox and Brave.

Google made a new try to block adblockers and especially Ublock Origin.
For anyone with issues, go to the Ublock options and update the Ublock Quick Fizes.

There was just an update to Quick fixes. Please test if it works for you.

1. Click Here to update the list.

2. If you disabled the list previously, enable it back.

3. Close all previously opened YT tabs and try in a new one.

Yeah, it was called Premium Lite and I used it because it was perfect for me. Then they discontinued it for no good reason and I'll never pay for Premium again on principle.

For me the fix this time was: from the Brave Shields (the lion icon on the search bar) I changed the "block trackers & ads" setting for Youtube to "aggressively block trackers & ads".

Again, Adblock Ultimate still works like a charm for me on youtube. For people with issues, I added these lines to my filters a while ago, see if this helps:

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false)

youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0)

youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, [])

youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
