Ah, okay. I thought it might have been something else. Maybe it's played slow and "broken" as a thematic reference to the current in-game world state?
Pretty sure that it's exactly it. And that,s why I think it's really swell.

Did you see Link tame other animals than just horses ?
It was days after being enchanted by this new Zelda gameplay that I finally realized "wait a second. We're back to button pressing for sword gameplay. Isn't that a step back?"
Wii Motion + was amazing for sword control. But then the irony is, is that really all Skyward Sword's legacy will be known for? Is it even an effective legacy when a demo for this game was revealed and not once in hours of watching did I remember that I was "supposed" to feel like the series regressed in combat, because everything else looked so amazing?
Is this a sign of how weak the legacy of motion controls really is? Because I loved Skyward Swords one-of-a-kind motion control puzzles and gameplay. But it's seemingly and clearly not the pinnacle of Zelda design, because of what BotW is now doing, which is an interesting thought to me. Just really interesting thoughts.
WW and TP do exactly the same thing story wise as what people are suggesting with BotW. Both WW and TP tell OoT's plot and explains what happened in between.
Also with a world this large, I wouldn't expect some sort of other world.
I loved what I saw of Breath of the Wind, but I really hope the NX version runs at a higher resolution and/or frame rate. That WiiU gameplay was definitely sub-1080p.
It was 720p, as most Wii U games are.
I'm thinking it's definitely Fallen Hero Timeline 100 years after OoT. Before The Sealing War.
They would need to sort of retcon the bit about the seven sages and Zelda sealing Ganon shortly after Link's defeat, but since that tidbit only appears in a couple sentences of HH, that is probably one of the easiest parts of the timeline to modify. They already kinda rewrote the intro of ALTTP for OoT, so a few lines in HH are nothing.
This is awesome. Both games even have British voice acting.
My problem with this time table is that the master sword, and the general state of Hylia, seems to have been left to the elements for a millennia not a measly hundred years.

So I found this nice map of OoT and decided to overlay it with the Great Plateau map using the Temple of Time as a scale and orientation base:
Someone here asked me to try cutting a really big tree and you can't. The ax just phases through the giant trees. I hope they add some sort of indication that the tree is too thick for Link. Everything is so interactive, so the tree phasing thing took me out of the experience a little.

So it looks like the Eastern Abby is where Hyrule Castle was.
The Master Sword looks like it's been damaged in battle and left in the elements. The Temple of Time looks much less damaged than the Twilight Princess version and TP was only about 100 years, too.

So you're saying the Great Plateau is literally Hyrule Field from OOT? Well, a good portion of it, anyway.

Hhhhnnnnggg....
Well there you have it folks.
EDIT: So maybe Death Mountain became inactive and was renamed Mt. Hylia, yeah?
Not necessarily. I'm saying that the entire plateau was lifted into the sky and dropped in the south away from Ganon. This map shouldn't be taken for 100% because obviously the scale of things between OoT and BotW is different, but the Temple of Time and Eastern Abby at least match up with the Temple of Time and Hyrule Castle.

Holy shit, this is amazing.
And terribly depressing. I feel like this new Zelda game will have a darker tone than previous Zelda games, albeit its colorful graphics. Which is great. That whole Hyrule in ruins thing they are going for allows for a deep storyline
So Mt. Hylia is an old, inactive Death Mountain.

Wait why are we assuming the Great Plateau was airlifted? Just because of the manmade walls around it?
Could they not have built those walls to keep it from eroding away?
Yeah that's a great find! I doubt the landmass was actually moved, they just have applied a much larger scale outside of the Hyrule castle town ruins. I wonder why it's specifically called an abbey though? That implies a church, which I can't really recall seeing since AoL.
An abbey is a building or collection of buildings, typically providing work and housing for Christian and Catholic monks and nuns, though the term has also been applied to the homesteads of nobility.I wonder why it's specifically called an abbey though? Has anyone played the trailer music backwards yet?
We have to dissect everything!

an ancient Hyrule Castle turned into an Abbey when they build a new castle? =P
As did II pointed this out days ago!
Numerous people have made YouTube videos of it. Sadly my hard-worked original music I uploaded last week is currently 13 pages back in a sea of hundreds of trailer music rips, speed ups and reversals lol.Has anyone played the trailer music backwards yet?

There's definitely a similarity but the architecture looks completely different, and actually resembles the architecture of the Temple of Time, which is interesting. But I think you point out a bigger clue which is the clouds. They could suggest recent airborne status... or of course they could just be there to represent how high and separate it is.Because it looks like Sky Keep, which the Temple of Time was built on top of:

The base of the plateau is surround by clouds, meaning it may be airborne. The plateau is described as a sacred place that no one can enter until recently when monsters started appearing.
Would be pretty wild if the entirety of the old kingdom of Hyrule was just that plateau region.
Well, it's not like they haven't done it before...
This may not be through 'upgrades'. Eating certain foods and potions increase your ability, so it may just be referring to things that boost, rather than permanent upgrades. Nate was pretty hesitant to answer that question in gamexplain's interview and gave a ambiguous answer.
Not only that, but it may also refer to things that increase your ability to traverse, such as the hookshot, which in a lot of cases would negate the need for extra stamina.
