I rarely go to the strength of coffee unless I really need it at the time, and I always get a lot of water regardless. The feeling like shit part comes from continuing to exert effort when you should have gotten sleep many hours ago.

Ah just the raw fatigue then. I figured i'd throw out the water suggestion because I do know a lot of people unaware of the side effects of caffeine consumption. As far as the exertion, I experienced that a lot in grad school and that just suuuuuuuucked.

And for me anyways, coffee is just a normal drink to me. Doesn't do much for me or my alertness. I don't use it for energy or anything, I just like how it tastes and smells. Plus at work there's a machine that brews it by the cup, and freshly grinds your choice of blend on the spot!

I realize this is early on in a 50 episode series to be making these comments, so take it with as big a grain of salt as you can when I say that thus far I'm not really all that into this show. I haven't really clicked with it, and I think that's because the way I'm seeing it so far, it feels rather, well, generic? Basic? Not unique? Maybe I've just seen too many high school comedy animes at this point, but the gags feel flat and stale, and I feel nothing when the emotional scenes play. I'm not sure if its that I feel there's a lack of a hook, or if the execution doesn't appeal, or if it's neither of these things and I myself and am just out of sync with this show. I grant that with 43 episodes left that doesn't mean much, but it is how things stand presently.

For example, this entire arc about dead girl wanting people to remember her sister's wedding should feel emotional to me. I mean, when you have a dead person walking around that's prime for something really emotive. Yet oftentimes I feel that situations are sort of contrived or forced. I know I shouldn't be too concerned with the physics of how an unconscious girl's mind has taken corporeal form, is interacting with physical objects, and yet is apparently only invisible to select persons.

Even that isn't really a satisfactory example of what I mean, I grant, but I've never been particularly good at making what I mean plainly understood anyway. In a way, the arc feels rather like it's the same as the Mayoi Snail arc from Monogatari, except I don't quite get the same real punch out of it. Too much of the emotional moments in this show feel very predictable.

On a more positive note, I do think that the idea of compounding the girl being forgotten atop her already being not actually there is a good touch on things, and if that's executed well it'll go a long way toward improving this arc in my eyes. Too much of this episode was cockroach girl crying over things I guess I should have felt something about but really did not.

Thoughts during episode:

- Finally an episode about the best girl! Onodera!!!
- Ruri is the embodiment of what the audience says and wants. I love Ruri!! Keep pushing the best girl!!!
- Character reactions are the reason I watch this show. Ruri's reaction is priceless.
- I miss the old OP still.
- OMG. Onodera is adorable. I can't stand it.
- Ichijo's reaction. Lol.
- The music playing the background is hilarious.

Summary:

Best episode of the series. Seriously. Not a trace of Chitoge and Mari. It was all about Onodera which was overdue. Every scene was hilarious and I was laughing at everything they did. This is the power couple folks! #TeamOnodera for life!!!

The small town vibe is great. Of course getting my Right Stuf orders with free economy shipping in just two days isn't bad at all either. This is the biggest reason why I don't order anime from Amazon, even if the prices are occasionally somewhat cheaper.

Thats awesome. Im glad you enjoy where you live. Too many people hate where they live. Louisiana ranks close to dead last in so many things but for me theres something special about this state that I really really REALLY love. Ill never leave it.

I just finished watching episode 8 of Nisemonogatari and I gotta say, what. the. fuck.

I watched all of Bakemonogatari in about a day and I loved it but it's been a week since I started Nisemono and I got no motivation to finish this.

Hahahahaha. The episode of forever.

I usually avoid incest shit like the plague, but I really enjoyed watching bakemonogatari and I was actually excited in watching Nisemono. It's not really just that episode, this whole season has been a borefest for me, though episode 6-7 were alright (probably because of Senjougahara). I have no motivation to even finish this season.

Nise is nowhere near as good as Bakemonagatari. Less Senjou definitely hurts it but something else was missing. Tsukihi is a cutie though. It was worth purchasing but not my favorite.

People are free to like/dislike what they like/dislike but I'm always puzzled by those who thought SAO season 1 was good. The show had holes the size of the Grand Canyon since/near Day One. The show went from bad to worse, not from good to bad.

It was tolerable in season one at best. People kind of accepted what it was trying to be. But then episode 14 happened..

You know I really don't know, made the wrong assumption sorry about that.

I was facetious. I do indeed love Azusa and I squee every time she is on screen. Mahouka is mediocre but its chock full of cuties.

As I said, Clannad is needed for set up to the real greatness that is After Story.

As far as you are there isn't anything that is supposed to hit you emotionally yet. The Fuko Arc does come off a bit derivative and is actually one of my least favorite arcs in the entire series. The emotional pay off for this arc is supposed to be episode 9. Your not meant to cry every time Nagisa cries. In fact many characters call Nagisa out on how often she cries. And it actually becomes a plot development later on.

But like I said, Fuko isn't supposed to have her payoff until the end of her arc, which is coming up. Clannad does itself no favors with this arc.

Patlabor the Movie 2

It was a very Oshii movie, with interesting philosophical themes, great mechanical animation, and striking imagery. It certainly touches on a number of subjects relating to terrorism and the militarization of police in a surprisingly forward-thinking way.

Overall I'd say the first film is better, due to having better-developed characterization and a more satisfying climax, but this was still a well-made film. Although I did feel like the reuse of the bird imagery was much more forced this time around.

Ore Monogatari has now become my favorite currently ongoing manga. It has beaten currently airing anime in two important categories

Best Bromance: Gon x Killua Sunakawa x Takeo
Cutest duo/couple: Fuyimiya x Hase Takeo x Yamato (she's even named like one of my favorite animes, pure win)
Most hilarious lead: Takeo. He doesn't even have competition.

I can't recommend this manga enough. It's a shojo. But it hasn't followed a single cliched shojo trope. This could easily be a shonen comedy if it wasn't for how diabeetus cute it is. I've been laughing out loud. Do yourself a favor and read this if you like great comedy, incredible bromance, or a very cute diabeetus couple. Please do.

Woofdawg seal of approval. So fucking hard. Also that lead image is misleading. The male lead is not the one you think it is based on regular shojo. It's the one on the left. I think the author is a fan of man-bears and lumberjack-like men.

There's Knights of Sidonia and M3, but the mecha action in both is all CG. And I'm not sure either good at this point.
