Uncharted 4 runs at 1080p and targeting 60fps

console graphics have already peaked at launch. this is fake cgi. open ur eyes.

Since when for any console history, the graphics have peaked at launch? Why would it be the case this time? ("Because it is similar to PC architecture" will not cut it as an explanation)

1080p60 Uncharted on PS4 would seriously surprise me.

I was floored at how well ND PS3 games looked so I was expecting great things, but pushing their known level of detail at that framerate and resolution on PS4 will be an absolute joy to experience.

Unless it's locked 60 fps (which it won't) they should already prepare to patch in a lock to 30 fps option like KZ etc. :P

Variable framerates are annoying as shit. I prefer hard 30 - during every gameplay situation - every day.

This is naughty dog. Open your eyes. With shit like last of us running on a ps3 (equivalent to a 7800GTX with 256 mb of ram) it is possible to have something like that running on a ps4. It's the 60 fps that blew me away.

Do people still not know who Chinner is? At this point he's basically a mod-sanctioned troll account.

60 FPS? ND knows what's up, unlike RAD and Evolution.

Edit: Well they could always pull the "30 fps was better for our game" shit that Evo did because they were also aiming for 60 fps at one point.

Drive Club also looks a lot better than it did when they were targeting 60fps. After they gave up on hitting that target consistently they obviously put the extra power (over what it took to reach 30fps in the game's then-current state) to use.

Edit - Ops... You said photo mode... again the Photo mode is in realtime too just using the user/gameplay processing to add better AA and post-processing effects but it is realtime too.

In the cases of the games you mentioned, "real-time" would mean rendering photo mode stills in no more than 1/60th of a second.
The photo mode in those two games is nowhere near real-time.

miles better.

I've only seen anyone compare their consoles to the original Toy Story.
It looks like a Telltale Games joint in this shot.

It was a really, really dumb thing to say at the time, though.

somebody wanted a color corrected version

Yea I'll believe it when I see it, my expectations will remain at 1080p@30fps for now.

Something tells me that trailer is CGI, the water movement, droplets and wet clothing are all too realistic.

Did anyone else thought for a split second it was an Uncharted movie, when Drake's face was in the sand?

That how good it was for me.

Not a tech person here... What the hell does pre-rendered mean?

ND uses the game engine to render cut scenes, but with no physics/other stuff to calculate, you can great greater visual fidelity than is actually possible during the game.

Despite what ppl are saying in this thread, tho, it's not a huge difference. U2/U3 still looked amazing.

Uncharted 4 looks to be the most technically advanced game for PS4 so far.

If Naughty Dog is able to reach 60 FPS @ native 1080p, you must thank Mark Cerny & AMD for blessing the PS4 GPU with very nearly double the pixel fillrate as Xbox One, that's probably a bigger deal than having more FLOPs performance for framerate+resolution.

The programmers at Naughty Dog got the pedal to da' friggin metal on this one.

can't see this right now since I'm at work, but what makes this color corrected version so much better? Isn't the original uploaded 1080p version the way it should look?

Less globetrotting, but still some varied locations, please.

Both the dark and the colour corrected versions are awesome looking. I trust ND to deliver. This might spank The Order at double the framerate o.O
