I think any team would struggle against 11 men behind the ball. Group stages performances usually mean jackshit, I remember Argentina looking like world beaters in 2006 in the group stages, yet struggled against Mexico with an extra time goal, and then bowed out against a much inferior Germany team on penalties.
I've seen teams struggle during group stage and then turn it on during the knockout stage, France 2006 being the most recent example of this.
There isn't a clear favorite, feels like the most open World Cup of the last 20 years IMO.
