Not at all. It seems Evolution was also focussing on the audio, well, judging from their prereleased audio trailer anyway. It is all adding up to make what appears to be, an amazing game.

Irrespective of the debate here, this looks amaze! I've gone from waiting until PCars comes out, to scouring the Internet for Driveclub bundles (doesn't seem to be available for preorder in the UK).
This is truly the first driving game since Gran Turismo on PS1 to be a system seller (forza is just too sterlie to do it for me).
So it's last gen Forza Horizon, Driveclub, then PCars. What a great time to be a racing fan! This is truly a renaissance of racing games. Loving it.

I've read that article many, many, MANY times over (and I'll gladly pour over it once more, thank you!). Too excited for the sound design in this game, which thankfully carries over a lot easier in crappy Facebook videos than visuals do

No I love this way. Last gen was spoiler every where from PR marketing. It was extremely bad like we almost see all in this game before it out.
I'm sorry? arent we still talking about those weather videos that were promised while there still was e3? from that version that was running behind closed doors? which iirc they were prepared right after e3?
do we somehow translate the above as equal to 2x 10second ..instagram videos?

I honestly don't remember them saying it would be "full track minutes long" footage. If they did, of course it's not the same. If they didn't, well, they delivered videos as promised, no matter how long they are.

Weather is going to effect the racing, right? It's not just cosmetic?
Wasting your time mate i'm afraid. They said weather vids, we got weather vids and here we all (mostly) are gawping at weather vids 8) I don't need minutes of footage to see whats been achieved. And to think, when we see the weather added to the game just how good it will look 8)

Looking at the whole image it could be 1920x540 at the moment, maybe that's why they need to work on it more before they patch it in.
edit: it appears to be 960x540 except for the HUD. No wonder they release low quality webms first.

Almost exactly 3 months away from release.
As an audio guy, It really does sound fabulous. I think by release the whole package (well once the weather update lands) will be just sensational. Lets hope they keep refining the handling model and nailing down everything else.

Holy shit. Welcome to next gen. I'm not totally sure why driving games usually have better graphical fidelity than other games. I suspect it has something to do with not having to do a lot of the other "stuff" that action games do, for example. Fighting games tend to look pretty nice as well so I can't wait for Tekken 7/soul calibur 6 etc.
buying a wheel needs some thinking for sure, I think its better to calculate the logistics and the space you will need etc, as the games will be there sooner or later, starting with the duet driveclub-project cars this year.

I have a feeling it's not Evo who prevent that. I believe Sony controls all promotional videos and the like, so its probably to do with them. Maybe it's to highlight the social aspects of the game (i.e. only showing on FB/Insta). I think it's a silly decision though, but whatever.

This DriveClub build with weather was shown to journalists at E3 one week later.
How is that a reaction to FH2? You don't make a weather system of a quality like shown here in one week.

I doubt it was a reaction, wasn't FH2's weather shown around the same time as Driveclub's weather was first unveiled? I think weather was just one of those "if we have time" additions. But it was definitely a later feature (considering it is being dropped in post launch).
It's weird to think we're not even a year since launch yet. Can you imagine games by the end of the generation?

Not to mention they talked last year about weather being a possibility in the future but probably not making it for launch (which then got postponed). I actually thought they wouldn't deliver on weather; this was like the best news out of E3 for me. Especially when it looks this incredible.

Not at all, always much appreciated when a developer actually pays attention to the of their sound samples and audio design. It's very much 50% of the experience for me.
What are you on about it's so easy programmers are just lazy so until they though they had another game unrelated to them beat they decided to "just" add weather in. /s
