This has been suggested in the smartwatch realm before. The issue is that smartwatches already have a lot of components to squeeze into a small space, even without the "normal watch" stuff.
I also expect that Apple will be the last company that would do something like this. Too much deference to the past. Instead, you're going to see them talk about rethinking what the modern watch should be, instead of was.
We don't know anything about it.That doesn't mean it's not dumb.
They often announce a time for pre-orders. If they do what they've done in past years you'll be able to pre-order online starting Friday morning at midnight PST.
That doesn't mean it's not dumb.
The iwatch is such a stupid idea. Nerds will get it but it'll never have the mass appeal of their other products.
My wife really wants an iphone 6 and we are both at work today - is there any chance we will get to pre order by 4:30ish or are we doomed? I'm not familiar with apple launches.
We don't know anything about it.
You know you're talking about a hypothetical watch here right? I know I'm in the belly of the beast here and saying the iWatch might be dumb is sacrilegious but come on.If the product is enjoyable and enriches lives then its not dumb.
I didn't think it was possible to be this wrong about something.
I doubt there will be any preorders at all. They didn't do them last year, because they missed the launch day line ups and such. It's amazing, free press.

That would be fine with me if the price is right. What else does it really need?
I'm still using an iPhone 4 as well and was getting the same issue but tried the following and it fixed everything.I turned on my four-year-old iPhone 4 last week for the first time in almost two years. The home button is definitely losing its input responsiveness.
I was just replying to the point of its popularity, not the merit of its concept. That doesn't mean it's not dumb.
I sort of think that iWatch would be best served by a separate announcement in October since it's not coming until 2015. They could just do the iPad stuff now even if it is releasing in October.
Good for them. I love new stuff, but I would probably be a happier guy if I didn't think in tech lifecycles.
Question for those that may have some experience with this. My fiancee has a contract plan with Verizon and an iPhone 4. She wants to get the iPhone 6 as soon as possible as her 4 is rapidly dying. So, if pre-orders become available, is there a method to pre-order the iPhone 6 and receive the discount for a 2-year contract, or are pre-orders limited to paying in-full?
Neither of us have ever pre-ordered a phone before and we want to go into this with at least some basic knowledge of what to expect.
Good for them. I love new stuff, but I would probably be a happier guy if I didn't think in tech lifecycles.
the store I work in has it listed as the iPhone 6 and iPhone air.

This.I know it's sort of pointing and laughing at people who don't really care in the end but I think putting a little research into a major purchase is a good idea.
Personally, if I'm going to enter into a contract or make an expensive purchase on a product I don't necessarily know a lot about I will at least do a google search.
Again, they probably don't give a fuck and they are better for it. I'm happy that they are happy with their purchase.
I really hope this is good enough to get me to switch from Android
"You Won't Believe What 14 People Did at Apple Stores This Morning"surprised this shit article isn't from Buzzfeed
So... where can windows users watch this event ?
Kind of agree. Kind of mean spirited to shame.
And stupid to assume that the other models aren't good enough. People don't always need the newest of the new stuff to be happy.
It's not even that, they just paid full price for something that is going to be $100 cheaper in 2 weeks. And stupid to assume that the other models aren't good enough. People don't always need the newest of the new stuff to be happy.
wrongBootleg streams basically. :/
This has been asked on every page twice for the last few pages.So... where can windows users watch this event ?
