Apple doesn't mention iPhone RAM.Someone else can correct me if wrong, but I don't think they ever have.

What hype are people expecting? They are releasing two phones, one 4.7, the other 5.5. The 5.5 is coming out in probably a month, and they are announcing iWatch. What else would happen??Goddamn, there's absolutely no way they can live up to the hype they're creating there
Do you honestly think Apple hasn't thought of this though? The company that obsessed over everything and controls everything to the finest detail?
Only time they have had issues was getting their biggest software update in years to run on old devices that were at least 2/3 years old and even then they resolved it (sort of lol).
I'm also a believer that when actual multi tasking arrives on iOS it will be ipad only (possibly 5.5).
God, I hope I won't have to pay more than 700 USD for a current 32GB iPhone.
700 USD is realistic, right?
Apple absolutely helps create the hype. They've never had an event countdown on their homepage before, they never liveblogged events before. They've never erected an entire building just for an event.Press creates the hype, not Apple. But it's come to a point where they can actually release a watch or TV and people will still be pissed. It's kind of silly.
Apple have been openly interested in TVs for years, just because nothing has surfaced, and may never surface, doesn't mean it's not in development.I'm aware it's speculation. I'm saying it's bad speculation; go back a year and everyone and their mother was talking about it like it was definitely a product in development.

Apple doesn't need to release a television, ever.A watch has been talked about for probably 2 years now, along with a TV, and given there were more leaks this year than previous with a watch there is some serious hype.

The media has a role, but Apple itself is doing way more to hype this event than they did any other before

iOS 8 release today possible?
why is it yikes? 1gb was apparently outdated when the 5S had that much. Did ANYONE feel the effect of it....ever. Whatever is in there will EASILY be enough to run the next 2 years of software.
Man if all people complain about is ram....at an iphone event....you know apple did well![]()

I forgot about the TV to be honest, but I imagine they could put that in the iPad event. All's I am saying is that we know what to expect, so why are we hyping ourselves up that this will be the best thing yet for apple?A watch has been talked about for probably 2 years now, along with a TV, and given there were more leaks this year than previous with a watch there is some serious hype.
I think the main point of this event is to show the direction Apple is moving in, and the markets they will tap into.
- Mobile / payments
- Wearables / fashion
- Health / fitness
- Home automation
The iPhones and iWatch will be shown as part of the overall strategy.
This will be a grander event than just a product launch.
Oh ok, we are expecting to see what they are doing in the future and their next goal. All right that makes sense.I think the main point of this event is to show the direction Apple is moving in, and the markets they will tap into.

meh I'd take the better battery life over more ram in the off times something refreshing is annoying.Like it's been said 1000x, it's not even about the performance in terms of speed and smoothness. A lot of people want to be able to multitask without their shit refreshing. The iPhone and iPad would both benefit immensely from the ram boost. The iPhone you can get away from it a little, but a lot of people do a ton of browsing on their iPads so it matters.
Well fuck. I'm even more hyped now.Huh, I think Apple might be liveblogging the event (or just posting pics)

Man, the amount of dicks I'd suck for Apple to announce a Retina iMac today. Like, two dozen dicks would suffice.
Also, you mean "number," not "amount."
There is no way 1gb is a reason for Safari to constantly reload tabs. Other browsers (Opera and Chrome) can handle tons of tabs without having to reload them when you go in. Its a software decision to preserve battery life.

The store has been down all morning, though.
For me I would love the see the 12" Retina MBA, I love my rMBP but I would sell this for a rMBA that's 2lbs in a heartbeat.
I feel like this is appropriate

Yeah because you save battery life reloading stuff from the network over and over and over
