The competition seems more refined...

That looks considerably better.

You really have to be massively into drinking the Apple kool-aid to like this thing.

This is a gold mine for the teens. Holy moly they are going to sell so many of these different bands and casings. Profit margins are likely quite great with these things. I am sad they have brought credence to this silly market though :(

Love the reactions here. You'll be walking around with one by the end of 2015, haters!

My digital integration with Android suggests otherwise.

Was hoping Apple brought a premium product to the table that made everyone step their A game up.

Instead it looks like a Toy.

And the UI doesn't look the slightest bit practical.

Not that I'm buying any of these devices, but the Moto 360 looks considerably more sophisticated.

My only problem with the moto is that black bar at the bottom. Apparently that is a physically dead portion of the screen. I can't get over it. LG G watch has a full round one i believe. So I may have to go for that.

And for those complaining about "digital crown". You guys all realize that that part of the watch has always been called the crown, right? And you guys realize that it isn't analog just because it spins, right?

All this being said, I'm not really impressed with this watch.

TheVerge is going to be fun to read later today. At the same time, I don't want to even give them any views for a bunch of garbage

Thats always the problem with the verge...

Not into watches but the Moto 360 is easily the best looking one by a mile

It does look good. I think Apple Watch has better functionality, but darn if that isn't good design.

This announcement is good for all smartwatches or whatever you want to call them though. Like the MP3 player, smartphone and tablet marketplace before them, Apple open the door by making it a desirable product to the masses.

That looks considerably better.

Or you know, people just like the look of it.

Shocked to see that after all this it looks this fug. The functionality seems nice but the bubble UI looks wonky and the gold version paired with other straps looks awful.

Clever. Fans of the watch have every incentive to maybe pick up at least 2 of the models. A sports and an edition watch, for example.

Very curious about pricing now...

The UI and fitness tracking are what is selling me on this thing.

I wouldn't use it for a job interview or wedding date.

All these knee jerk reactions bring me back to the iPad reveal :)
This is exactly what comes to mind. Don't think this is something that will be accepted right away but will kick off and become the norm soon.

I like the interface but the design could do with some tweaking. Curious on the price.

I'm reading theVerge right now and...

That Patel guy wrote this:

"The new strap attachment mechanism thing is like, you had HUNDREDS OF YEARS TO FIGURE IT OUT BEFORE APPLE SHOWED UP, WATCH INDUSTRY."

He knows you can change straps on watches right? Right?

What's the simplest strap changing mechanism there currently is? What watches use it?
