Another cryptarch level. Get only blue engrams, which all turn into uncommon items. I seriously think my game/character is gimped by the RNG gods.

Watching a Vault of Glass stream....this shit is insane. Now no matchmaking makes sense, if you don't work as a team you're screwed, and even if you do you're probably still screwed haha.

This boss is way more intersting than I was expecting it'd be.

I'd be impressed if all the bosses are this elaborate while still being varied ( assuming there's a decent number of bosses )

That's what it takes for the best gear.

If the loot system is anything like WoW, hopefully items are dropped at every boss with a chance of you getting something but not guaranteed. But console players might not be that patient and want their raid gear now. Either way works fine for me. I just like the challenge of completing it.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love how crazy this is. You have to earn your right to even set foot inside that place.

Any streams where people have gotten past this initial boss? This is the first boss right? I can't imagine how the rest of the raid will be

So get this GAF. Rumble, first place, 22 kills 8 deaths. I was pretty chuffed. I thought that maybe the RNG would appreciate the fact I preformed well. So not exactly, apparently it wanted to reward EVERY OTHER PLAYER a blue engram or blue item. Not just one other player, not two, the other five participants in our little rumble.

Bravo Bungie. Bravo.

Yup, went 25 and 4 in Control on Blind Watch last night and got absolutely nothing. Last place player got a legendary engram and a rare shotty.

Performance based rewards in pvp would be nice, but they would also absolutely shit on players who aren't good at pvp, and they'd reward players who are already wrecking everyone else, which is just a bad scenario for pvp health

I'd rather they address the psychologically hostile loot system they have set up in pve first, it's not quite D3 launch levels of horror, but it's really, really unfriendly.

(13 legendary engrams, 0 usable class legendaries so far - my first usable legendary was the rank 3 Vanguard weapon -_- My exotic chest engram decoded to another classes exotic.)

I know it's RNG, but I seem to get better and more frequent loot in the crucible when I intentionally do it bad. Like worst of the match bad means I get two blues.

Anyone trying to form a Raid group? We have 2 players right now with a third on the way, looking for dedicated people on PS4.

PSN JoeFenix if you're interested

"Earn". You realize the vast majority of people who are raiding right now probably "earned" the gear exploiting the Nexus. You can't even have bought your first vendor gear yet.

Huh? I'm talking about the fact that you have to fight off hordes of praetorians and harpies while trying to build the damn spire. If you can manage a team and successfully pull that off, you've earned your entry in my eyes.

(Also I bought vendor gear like 2 days ago)

but hey! you get 1(one) more Crucible point than those losers! Gotta be worth it amirite?! :D

The achievement/trophy for completing a raid without anyone in your fireteam dying is going to be...quite rare. Now I understand why they mentioned having several internal debates about even including it.

Since you ALSO can't talk to people in the game and form a party it'd make a lot of sense to allow matchmaking. Just because it'd be harder doesn't mean it's not impossible. It would be queue at your own risk.

I came in first place 4 rumbles in a row without getting anything. On the 5th game I played really bad but got a Mote of Light and a blue engram...

The mechanics alone would screw you over haha

Did I just see datto throw a grenade at an enemy, and it auto corrected the tragectory mid air in order to hit it? Does titans have such a grenade?

Yeah it's quite irritating that the best and most creative part of the game is made for diehard players.

I'm fine with the raid being the "biggest and best" in terms of fight mechanics and boss designs. That's kinda what a raid needs to be imo.

But yeah it's absolutely criminal that the first raid boss alone, is more interesting mechanics wise, than all the strike bosses combined. And this is only the normal mode of the raid, if the hardmode version is like other mmo's like WoW, then this boss will have 1-2 more fight mechanics in that version.

I'm level 24 and have a Rank 1 with the Crucible vendors.

In order to get legendary gear, would you recommend me to play at the Crucible or just farm on the Moon?

Raid looks pretty hard for the average joe group setup, looks like you may need a core group 6 players to progress there.

Exactly like a real MMO.

This game even has a crazy grind to get raid ready gear too, like a real MMO.

It also has a horrible RNG-based loot system, like a real MMO.

Too bad it lacks the social functions of a real MMO.

As to your second point, engrams are a chance sure, but greens and blues gave you one of their color at least like 80% of the time, and armor pieces ALWAYS gave you one for your class. Legendary engrams more likely that not will give you something entirely different that is not purple, and if it does give you armor it is even more likely to give you armor for another class. Whatever algorithm they used for legendaries is more unfair that it needs to be. Legendary engrams should be like exotic engrams where they guarantee an exotic, or at the very least guarantee like 2 strange coins minimum. Because they're already a pain in the ass to get.
[...]

Blue armor engrams do not always give your class. It's surely a very low chance to not, but it's there. (Source: Got a blue Hunter shirt and a blue Warlock shirt today that do not fit my awesome Titan muscles.)

Just gonna plonk down a wishlist of features I think would very much improve the game. Call it ‘Destiny 2.0’ if you will.

Vendors
- Shaders you buy at the Outfitter should have a preview option. They’re quite expensive and the colours and colour distribution do not always turn out as expected.
- The ‘Material Exchange’-options at the Vanguard and Crucible Quartermasters should detail what you’ll get beforehand. Right now the only thing the option tells you is that they’ll take something away from you without any information on what you get in return.
- There should be a way to preview gun sights on guns bought from any Vendor. You can sorta-kinda see what sight a gun has from the current preview, but it would be great to just preview the actual sight as it is in first person.

Loot
- Engrams should not decrypt into gear of lower quality than the Engram itself, ever. A Rare Primary Weapon engram should at the very least give out a Rare Primary Weapon. A Legendary Chest Armor Engram should at the very least give out a Legendary Chest Armor piece.
- In the same line as the above point; Materials should not drop from Gear or Weapon Engrams, ever. Materials should either drop as-is or get their own Material Engram.
- High-end Materials should have higher drop rates from Strike Bosses and shielded yellow-bar enemies, with the type of Material tied to the enemy race. This would allow for more targeted play as opposed to just ‘playing the game / finding the most efficient farming spot and hoping something drops one of them eventually’.
- Overall loot drop rates need to be reworked. Regular red-bar Dregs / Shanks / Psions / Goblins / Etc. should drop loot less frequently and in lower quality. Regular yellow-bar enemies should have increased drop rates for higher quality drops and Strike bosses / unique named enemies should have a guaranteed Rare drop with a change to drop more. As it is right now, the only really viable and efficient method to get new gear is finding whatever is the best and fastest farming spot, as all enemies have seem to have the same drop-rates for any quality.
- Crucible loot distribution should be revamped in some way. Have a kill-threshold for loot eligibility ( kill 3 enemies to be able to get loot ) to prevent very late-joiners or AFK players from getting loot and have at least some consistency / system in who gets loot and who doesn’t vs. the 100% RNG that we have now.

Clan / Social
- There should be an option for proximity chat for matchmade Fireteams during Strikes and Crucible.
- In the Roster section of the menu, there should be a column for clan members.
- The option for matchmaking should be added to all modes, with the only possible exception being the Raid ( though I think adding it there would do no harm either, provided you get sufficient warning before turning it on ).

Other / general
- The Vault should be accessible from Orbit, at least for deposits. I don’t want to have to go back to the Tower just to store something.
- If you have finished a story mission once, you should have the option to have it flow into an explore instance when you complete it again instead of having the game eject you out of the game and into orbit.
- If you have finished a story mission before, you should be able to skip the cutscenes.
- I would like there to be a small chance in Explore ( and perhaps even any Strike ) for any enemy to spawn as a shielded yellow-bar version of itself with increased loot drop chance. I know there’s already Public Events, but they happen so sporadically that it would be great to have something like this to spice up the regular encounters, which right now always spawn the exact same enemies in the exact same spot with very little variation.
- Let us pick difficulty and possibly even modifiers on specific existing strikes without having to go into random matchmaking via the Vanguard playlist.
- I would love the addition of some sort of advanced tooltips. By how much does this upgrade reduce my recoil? What is the exact fire-rate of this gun? How much does this subclass-upgrade increase the size of my grenade? How exactly does this upgrade affect my various grenade types? How much more Light do I actually need for the next Light level? How much does 100% Discipline effect reduce my grenade cooldown? Etc. Etc. I would like something more concrete than the current vague bars and percentages.

I feel like some of these changes would make the loot experience more consistent and enjoyable while streamlining some of the rough edges Destiny currently has regarding flow and social features.

Just takes man hours to discover the mechanics like a standard MMO raid give it a few days and the strat will be out there.

Thats why progression raiding can be fun you are going into the unknown.

Rare is an understatement. I really can't imagine doing one of these without dying, or somebody on my team dying.

Seems pretty fun though.
