Please bring back 60 fps video games. I miss them dearly.
We get a lot of them. More than we were getting last gen.

Would love them to get the Blur ip, Blur 2 would be amazing by PG imo
I wouldn't say this. The system is still significantly more powerful than the PS3 & 360.
Heck, many people are buying the system for that reason alone (on top of them being interested in exclusives).
Not a single drop from what I can see. Hot damn.
PG - God tier developers.
It's a 30fps racing game. Having zero drops should be the bare minimum expectation, not some grand achievement to be admired.
Forza 6 is likely due next year if the on-off schedule of Motorsport/Horizon everyone expects works out. I don't see it not having 60fps.
Well, it's a cross-gen title. Wouldn't expect anything else. The Xbox 360 version looks great as well.
This kind of response is doing exactly what you seem to be decrying.
Fair enough, I guess I had different expectations coming off of the 360, and I may disagree with others on those expectations. My reaction was that I feel like at least this level of performance for a racer should be a given, so I was not as seeing it as as much of an accomplishment as some others. I'm sorry if that rubbed people the wrong way with the wording, as it was not meant to incite some sort of system war nonsense. Thank you for not responding with "lol, console warz" or something like that.
That's certainly a sentence. Words and everything.
Playground's game is amazing in every respect, as expected. I'd be much more interested in DF's analysis of the 360 game, and perhaps some nice comparison videos.
Not the least surprising...
Dude.
Get some glasses and stop trolling.
I played Forza Horizon again a few days before Forza Horizon 2 released (and a few days after I played the Forza Horizon 2 demo). I was amazed at how bad it looked to me ("Didn't this game look amazing two years ago?"). Horrible lighting and textures in comparison to Forza Horizon 2.
It's a night and day difference.
Ha, Ha, Ha.
Please bring back 60 fps video games. I miss them dearly.
The solid performance of this game is no surprise. PG did a great job with FH1 on the 360. So good, that FH2 and FH1 aren't that far from each other visually.
Please.

For some reason we can't get a damn racing game that has 60 fps, and racing games it matters more than some other genres.
(Forza 5 is apprarently 60 -- my experience is limited to need for speed rivals 30 fps, FH2 30 fps, and upcoming driveclub 30 fps)
Based on the DC threads, I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are defensive about FH2.
Night and day? There is difference, but I wouldn't call it night and day. I played it on Thursday with my nephew (I got it for him when FH was $10 a few weeks back), and unless he has a superior TV, they are both very good. Maybe I need to update my plasma TV? Or maybe PG is just a great developer by putting out a very good 360 game.

My lowly screenshot, since MS hasn't unshackled the screenshot option.

Screenshot I found of FH on the 360.
How is this trolling? It's my opinion and experience as a former 360 owner, and current XBO owner. And is it that surprising? If the XBO has established something up to this point is that to get fantastic visual, something is sacrificed on another end. Or if performance is sacrificed, than you know you're getting a good-looking game. It's logic, based on an established pattern.
Why would they abandon a 1+ million franchise for one that struggled selling half of that? Blur was bad with its luck dependant gameplay. Racing games should be about racing and not about someone hitting you with a gadget in the last corner.
Have we seen footage of the 360 version? I have a feeling it will look pretty good in comparison.Well, it's a cross-gen title. Wouldn't expect anything else. The Xbox 360 version looks great as well.

Textures, rez and lighting seems to be better on the XBONE version, I really need to to look at video properly instead of skimming though. That video seems like the sense of speed is almost in-existent though.there's a lot of 360 footage around

Every racing game should meat the minimum expectation of adhering to its target frame rate without dropping any frames, yet these days very few do. The fact that this is one of them, and it's achieving that while being an open-world racer with superb IQ should certainly be admired.
I know this is maybe a controversial opinion but games like Horizon 2 make me realise that I'm not going to need the most powerful hardware this gen to get really satisfying games.
Really impressed with what the Xbox One can do - maybe because it's hard not to buy into the constant doom and gloom on GAF about the underpowered hardware.
Honestly at this point I give zero fucks about how 'underpowered' or 'inferior' the Xbox One is when it's giving us games like this...
Man people really don't like it when positive xbox news are posted.
This thread is fucking hilarious.
One would think the XBO was barely any more powerful than the WiiU if one were to buy into the hyperbole about how "weak" the console supposedly is. That went right out the door the minute i saw Ryse in action, not to mention Horizon 2. I think Quantum Break looks great as well. The XBO will have some great looking games down the line despite not being the most powerful. That much is for sure.
The 360 version compares very favourably in this shot imo. The actual car model in particular doesn't look very different between the two shots.

God, PS4 version comes up short of course, but the Xbox version really does look terrible in this particular comparison.
Meanwhile, huge differences between the PS4 and Xbox in this comparison, right?
Its more than just another 30fps game. Most 30fps console games aren't locked down, and somebody can correct me if I'm mistaken, but the physics engine is running at 60fps and the game is optimized to minimize any input latency.People are excited about a 30fps game that doesnt drop below 30fps?
Thats not very good is it?

Would be impressive if it had 60fps without any drops...
The visuals are gold nonetheless.
Will pick it up eventually.

It's definitely very good. Because the game still plays like silk with those visuals and clean IQ.
When considering those two pieces of hardware aren't from seperate console generations, yes definitely, that is a significant visual difference in that particular comparison shot.
Or are you going to tell me those are two directly comparable instances of graphical comparison shots? I can't help but think you didn't consider this one too carefully.
