and yesterday i finally got hatemail from completely dominating a few rounds of Deathmatch with Shingen-E, a Fusion rifle with a fast firerate and big magazine, added with Bladedancer supers. Such OP combinations :D

You're one of those players that brings out the monster in me. ;)

Auto Rifles have killed my PvP enjoyment. I can't do this anymore, Bungie.

I don't know why it's taking them so long to actually implement the rebalancing. It's not like there's some extensive tests that need to be run to figure out why auto rifles are so ridiculously OP.

Hopefully it comes this week because I'm tired of just going up against the same 5-6 weapons every game.

You're one of those players that brings the monster out in me. ;)

i'm sorry. But there really are no other viable combos.

Why limit yourself into using a Handcannon or Scout rifle that requires you to be accurate when monster guns like Shingen-E and Galahad-E kill anything faster than the time it requires you to pull off two accurate headshots with a semi-auto weapon :/

i would love to play as a gunslinger if it wouldn't feel like handicapping myself :P Although, as the game is now, winning only gives you +1 crucible point. No other incentive in performance. You could just as easily put that rubber band on the stick and let the game run over night to rack up the rewards...

FIX THIS SHIT GUERRILLA!

I think the same thing that happened with the queens missions is now happening with strike playlists (or the practice started there). The rewards are supposedly the same, so people just orbit until the earth strike with simiks prime.
Starting to feel like the only person that actually enjoys the gameplay. :'(

I'm a sliver away from 27 (I assume I'll be OK for the weekly strikes)?

Maybe. I feel that something like Iron Banner has a place but it really needs solid matchmaking to keep it from being massively unfair.

Destiny has matchmaking? Did they patch one in overnight?

"I played PvP with most broken and imbalanced weapons and class, people who were forced to play with me didn't like it". Does this come as some kind surprise to you?

Even after nerf patch you will still have 2 very imbalanced assets, FR's and Blacedancer.

Auto Rifles have killed my PvP enjoyment. I can't do this anymore, Bungie.

Start playing with Fusion Rifles and you will dominate AR and Shotgun players with ease if you are decently skilled PvP player with situational awareness.

I've done 2 of the 3 Queens bounties and I'm 181 reputation points away from level 2 but the third bounties I can only get it if I win 3 crucible games with all 3 Queen items being warn! Damn annoying.

Is there only 3 bounties showing up for everyone else?

If only that were true. Sure, I've dominated with FRs before but any AR user worth their salt can kill me before my charge goes off.

no, thats why i said "finally" :D i've been expecting them.

but still, hate the game, not the player. as the game is now, everyone has a COD4 noobtube equivalent in supers and other weapons that are all instakill.

you need to learn the art of pre-heating that charge! keep tapping the trigger to the point of the charge almost going off. And use level obstacles/corners as cover while charging if you miss a shot. Or just quickly swap to your Shingen-E to finish them off if you dont get a kill with the first shot.

Log out and back into the game. It usually fixes that issue and makes all 6 available.

Don't limit yourself to just one side of the class. You want to be flexible, and able to fill your teams weak points, no matter where they may be. Personally, this is how it goes for my group:

We have 2 Hunters, 2 Warlocks, and 2 Titans. Both Warlocks are Sunsingers, for the self-revive ability. This is because they're not the absolute strongest of players, and the ability makes them able to be flexible. Dying doesn't mean instant doom. It also let's them be medics, in that they can run into an incredibly shitty situation to revive someone, and if they die it isn't a concern. The titans are both Strikers, but this is because the slam helps them get out of bad situations throughout the raid, and there really isn't a fight where the shield is a better "oh shit" button. Our hunters (me being one of them) change spec based on the fight.

For the gate, we go Bladedancer so that we can quickly move to other sections, clear out minotaurs/goblins/whatever, but Gunslinger is just as viable here. Do what you want. For the Templar, I think Bladedancer is best during the opening sections of the fight. Once you get to the actual boss battle, I suggest Gunslinger because ideally your relic holder should be killing all the harpies, and if they miss a couple they aren't hard to kill, so you really never should need to Bladedance your way to freedom. Gunslinger's super is great for clearing extra harpies across the room, killing oracles, and hitting the boss as well.

For the maze, go Bladedancer. Invisibility is awesome here. For Atheon, see the above.

Lemme know if you have any questions, although I'm not the most versed player, I've cleared the raid twice on Normal, almost cleared it the first week it was out (got to Atheon) and plan on starting Hard mode in a week or two once our lower level players hit level 28. I've also got WoW progression experience if that means anything.

Thanks.

I've got both subclasses leveled up, but rarely use Gunslinger anymore. I guess as well as looking at how I build a certain subclass, I also need to look at applying each subclass to the current situation.

I suppose I've just fallen into the niche of stealth medic, because that's what's happened naturally during Strikes/Weeklys/Nightfalls.

Once we finished our brief time on the Raid, my first thought was about how I can make the stealth medic role more effective, because not everything I have active in the skill-tree supports that role (Showstopper, for example). I think I need to step back and look at both subclasses individually and spec them to fit different roles.

My group consisted of a Bladedancer (me), a Gunslinger, two Sunsingers and a Defender. No I haven't missed anyone out, the five of us just thought we'd dive in and see what happened. None of us have done it before, and no one had any idea about the various mechanics, apart from me and even then I only had a rough idea. We managed to reach the Oracle part of The Templar flight, but we are unlikely to carry on before the weekly reset due to some of the group being unavailable.

I wasn't really tiring of the game, but this has added extra zest to it anyway. I want to spam strikes and gear up as best I can. I need some Legendary tier Void weapons for a start!

I hear what you are saying. It's a common way to argue in most competitive games, and there's nothing wrong with choosing that play style.

I do think the handcannons are underestimated however. But they are the "expert" weapons of the game, and such they require a lot from the user. I've played with handcannons for the majority of the game now and most AR users I can deal with at any range. It's all about having the right gun and being very accurate with it. You just have to commit to it and really learn the mechanics.

I don't know what the feature patch will mean for all guns in the game, but something tells me that there's gonna be a lot of complaining from AR users. I expect them to get a stability and range downgrade, because that's what makes them so easy to handle atm.

i would nerf the long range accuracy and stability, make AR's a little harder to handle while firing full auto. Would make people use them in shorter bursts.

I usually get rekt before I even get one AR or shotgun round off when going against fast charging FR. That shit OHKs players at ludicrous ranges with such ease when hip blasting.

but still, hate the game, not the player. as the game is now, everyone has a COD4 noobtube equivalent in supers and other weapons that are all instakill.

I would argue that Warlock is only class that doesn't have insane PvP bullshit like IWINLOLLOSER Smash, Shoulder Charge that makes you fucking fly, Blink Strike with insane reach, Bladedancer with invincibility...

Warlock? Shoot him to head and he is rekt, even middle of Nova Bomb cast or Radiance with armor buff. Warlock just doesn't get invincibility states like other classes or 99% damage taken reductions.

That said I think it's sad how long Bungie is taking with PvP rebalance patches and apparently will only address ones that community is most vocal about [AR + shotty] while ignores supers, FR's etc.

Bladedancers are also another PvP enjoyment killer. I can't do this anymore.

Also, what's the point of buffing the Legendary Engram decryption if you nerf its drop rate to the ground? I honestly haven't seen one drop in over a week.

Is there a certain Queens Wrath mission that drops ship and sniper, it's hoods & robes r' us doing Restoration mission

Have done 15+ of these already, same 2 drops

Do people hate the non-Dust Palace Mars strike? Every time it popped in the playlist both other players dropped as soon as they spawned. :/

I actually don't mind any of them, and enjoy trying to get the "don't die" strike bounty in harder content rather than just going for the lowbie Devils Lair
and still dying to complacency
.

Yup, I return to orbit once it comes up, it seems to be standard practice

it's all random, i've had a few legendary engram drops this weekend. But i haven't seen a single exotic bounty in my 51 hours of playtime... goddamn unicorns...

Finished the Raid yesterday with my Clanmates. We all know each other from a Swiss Gaming Forum and decided not to read any guides or watch any videos of the Raid...but we did agree that if we were close to finishing a section and failed right before clearing it, that we would consult some walkthroughs and/or videos for that part only.

It took us, I think, a total of 14 hours...we can't really say because the summary screen didn't show up after beating Atheon =(, but we did get some rewards, and the two trophies (beating the Raid and beating the Raid with all clan members).

If anyone's interested, here's my YT-Channel with our recorded raid sessions: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo9cRPUuxjJC-cF1wZaP1Mw

The Gorgon's Labyrinth cost us all our nerves...good thing I wasn't recording our voice chat ^__^"

AR's need to be tuned so full auto spray & pray gameplay comes less viable / useless when outside of low-medium range. This means more bullet spread and lower stability [read: more recoil].

Nerf to AR's shouldn't be so big that they become CQB full auto shotguns where you need to pray for success while now buffed scout rifles dominates at all ranges. I expect SR's to get fire rate and impact buffs.

Same with shotguns, adjust baseline range stat barely and do most rebalancing at range perks. There is shotguns like Invective that has A LOT shorter range than ones with range upgrade after range upgrade. If they fuck too much with baseline range stat they will ruin most of the shotguns in the game for good.

i would nerf the long range accuracy and stability, make AR's a little harder to handle while firing full auto. Would make people use them in shorter bursts.

Yeah that would be the optimal change.

As for the other guns:

Scout Rifles - More impact and accuracy, less ammo size and stability.
Handcannons - Thorn and The Chance needs a buff. The rest is fine.
Burst Rifles - Impact and range increase.
Sniper rifles - More weapon sway, especially for really long range scopes.

I don't know why it's taking them so long to actually implement the rebalancing. It's not like there's some extensive tests that need to be run to figure out why auto rifles are so ridiculously OP.

All they need to do is cut the range down. For example, on the Mars control map, I could be standing outside that window overlooking zone C and still be able to put half a clip in someone's face across the map where the stairs from zone A start to descend. That's with a rate of fire slanted AR and not some exotic/legendary wonder. That kind of thing really makes scout/pulse rifles not only superfluous, but a downright disadvantage in 90% of cases.

...

Also, what's the point of buffing the Legendary Engram decryption if you nerf its drop rate to the ground? I honestly haven't seen one drop in over a week.

Same. It's pretty amazing, since the patch I've only had 1 legendary drop, and even 3 Chryptarch level ups have yielded only 2 or 3 blues...

And not a single exotic or legendary from end round rolls, be it PvE or PvP!

On the other hand, I've been getting some coins and motes from blues so I guess the game is indirectly telling me to forget about RNG and just buy stuff with my hard earned currency.

The point was no to give us more legendaries. Just remove the confusion and annoyance of getting lower level stuff from Legendary Engram.
I thought this was pretty clear with the patch. I am pretty sure the chance of gettin a legendary is the same as before as expected.

On a Queens Wrath mission, we all went down literally the second the last rocket connected and killed him. We were all left dead on the mission complete screen, eventually it counted down the mission end lol.

Alternate strategy:
1. Everyone go Warlock with self resurrect or Titan with weapons of light bubbleshield.
2. Get loot.

Learning to use a hand cannon in the current environment of AR and shotgun dominance will pay off dramatically when the balance comes.

I did the Shingen-E thing for a while but I pretty much stick with my hand cannon in pvp. Seeing as everyone uses an auto what I do is engage at medium range. First shot I take I make sure its a headshot. This usually leads them to go, "Oh shit." and they start spraying like maniacs. If I can pull that off I've pretty much won the encounter 9 times out of 10.

Hand cannons are the mid-range weapon of the game. Autos are short-medium and Pulse/Scout are mid-long range. I fucking hate Exodus Blue because of all the shit in the way, can't aim worth a god damn.

Learning to use a hand cannon in the current environment of AR and shotgun dominance will pay off dramatically when the balance comes.

They're already good. Just don't try to outgun an auto guy who already has the aim on you. This is a short TTK game anyway, if you see someone and you aren't ready get the hell out the way.

Pre-buff/nerf (which is it?) I got more legendaries than I do now.

I don't really understand what Bungie wants to do with the game.

Every time I do that mission, we take the boss out so fast it takes a while for the game to register so we get killed by the hobgoblins because they don't despawn.

Using my light/beware fusion rifle in Crucible feels like cheating. Special ammo is way too prevalent, I never need to use my primary. I think the amount of green ammo is the biggest contributor to PvP feeling unbalanced, 1HK is too easy with fully leveled Purple/Yellows.
