I've just gotten a Legendary Hunter chest when I redeemed a BLUE engram.

Game redeemed. I forgive and forget everything.

And I'm finally level 26.

Is having different kinds of special / heavy weapons (elements) important in Vault of Glass? My main weapon is a Legendary but for the others I just have Rare stuff (1 rocket launcher for each element) and for specials electric stuff.

It'd be interesting to look at what I can find with Vanguard Engrams and all that.

Void is super nice for minotaurs/praetorians. Other than that bring what you're comfortable with.

I stumbled upon this area on Venus today, I had never ever before seen this place. Guarded by level 20 elite Minotaurs and inside of area level 22 mobs. Like you can see at end there is energy lift of sorts that would take us up into Vex structure, but it's force fielded off from access.

Here few more shots to give better idea where on the Venus area is and how it's structured.

More cut content?

Could just be currently unused content. Sorta like the grotto area on earth. Sadly I don't think there is any cool areas with high level stuff that aren't used like it on the moon or mars as I really like that kind of thing.

Is it just me or is solar damage more common than arc damage, and arc damage more common than void damage?

Basically all of my legendaries and exotics are solar.

Its RNG. I have nothing Solar except for a 77 Wizard (well, Invective but don't use it in PvE).

My loadout is Atheon's Epilogue, Praedith Revenge and Exodus Plan. Full Void.

I have a pretty even spread of elements legendary-wise.

Solar Fusion Rifle, Rocket Launcher x2 (one was bought), machine gun

Arc sniper rifle, shotgun, and fusion rifle

Void machine gun x2

Anyone have Season of Ages XII that wouldn't mind posting a picture or two?

I really hate that you can't spin the model on the preview screen.

Edit: Ah, nevermind. I got impatient and bought it lol.

I don't think it's entirely RNG because some weapons only come in some flavours.

Here's my inventory, legendary and up:
Solar:
- Final Rest II
- The Supremacy
- Invective
- The Culling
- Gjallarhorn
- Zombie Apocalypse WF47
Arc:
- Found Verdict
- The Supremacy
Void: None.

Exotics and Raid come in fixed flavours. Getting those is a dice roll too. Except for Xur.

My Zombie Apocalypse dropped in Arc mode for example. Light/Beware ditto. I need Solar badly.

When I was leveling up the thorn and my warlock sunsinger I had dreams of burning and poisoning people, sadly after experimenting over the last few days theres either a bug or intended actions to the damage over time effect for both fire and poison.

You can't stack both effects, poison overrides fire, it also removes fire so you don't get the full burn duration.

If you plan to burn and thorn people don't worry about setting things on fire, change your setup to have an extra grenade instead.

Hmm, I wonder...

Hey guys, for the gain 9000 experience without dying bounty, does experience you gain from handing in completed bounties count towards that?

...

I've fully upgraded my Heart Of The Praxic Fire vest (apologies again for landing it) and it's pretty damn sweet but I'm still sitting one light point shy of level 28. I really wanna try the raid from the start but after the brief glimpse of the end boss I want to level up and get my weapons up to scratch before attempting it.

What did you do to be so blessed by the RNG? I want it but no luck so far...

I have a Prime Zealot vest btw, wanted to dismantle as another legendary chest piece but is it Raid specific gear? Wish they were marked or something.

No. But you can die I think. The counter continues again.

Crucible matchmaking needs a complete rework.

I had a game last night where we were two level 16s and a 17 against two 29s and a 30. Suffice to say we got absolutely slaughtered, in a not very fun at all way.

Would anyone on PS4 GAF 29+ be interested in trying to get the Flawless Raider achievement? A few groups have done it and said the hardest parts were the glitches but there's a list of how to avoid them. Should take a few nights of practice.

Care to share that list?

Okay, I made it up to Atheon in the raid but had to quit early this weekend. Want to get him over and done with before the weekly reset. Looking for people who want to help me on Xbone right now, or in the coming hours. Preferably a few people who know what they're doing, since it's my first time doing the Raid and the whole gates/relic thing confused the hell out of me.

I'm a level 28 Defender Titan. Add me: BlueNinja BE

I'm on PS4, so I can't help you do the actual raid, but let me explain the whole fight real quick.

First thing's first, you're going to enter the arena and have a lot of mobs, and a thing called a Gatekeeper. That's what you're going to kill. Positioning doesn't matter, we let people go ham here. Once you kill the Gatekeeper, in the back of the room there are two Sync Plates like you saw getting inside the Vault. While you control one, you open up that side's portal. You want to split into 2 groups of 3 here, and have one group defending a Sync Plate (and thus a portal) and one group going into that portal. Once inside, they'll have to pick up the Relic (last seen in the Templar fight) and then kill another Gatekeeper, along with some adds (additional mobs, for short).

Once the Portal group exits the portal they need to call out that they have done this. The reason is because now you need two people to go into the OTHER portal and do the same thing. You want 2 going into the portal, and 4 staying outside. So, at this point, you're going to want 2 people defending the opposite sync plate, and 2 people killing mobs that swarm the Conflux (which you need to defend, ala the Templar fight). Once the portal group comes out, the fight against the actual boss begins.

Atheon will teleport the 3 furthest party members 25 seconds into the fight. So, you want 3 people staying in the back, and 3 defending sync plates. Now what you do varies based on where you are. The party members that get teleported will have to kill Oracles inside the portals (I highly recommend having your portal group be the same group that goes in the second phase of the fight, after you kill the gatekeeper). Your relic holder will want to hulk-smash adds with the relic, while the other 2 kill the oracles. Once all the oracles are dead, all 6 raid members will get a buff and the screen will read "guardians decide their own fate," or something. While this buff is active Atheon takes 5x damage.

So, for the portal group, Atheon is a fight of "shoot oracles, shoot the boss, shoot oracles, shoot the boss" or "smash stuff, smash stuff, smash stuff, smash stuff." For the group outside, they will fight terrorist Harpies that want to blow up your face. Shoot em, run away, whatever works. Just defend the Sync Plates. When your portal group comes out of the portal, everyone should jump to the little platform in between the portals and the relic holder should use their shield. Focus the boss until you get to about 5 seconds left on the buff, and then your sync plate defenders jump back to their respective sides, and your portal-goers jump to the back of the room.

There's a lot going on at any given point in time, but because the fight is effectively split into 2 groups of 3 most of the time, it's key to have adequate communication and ensure that everyone is on the same page and isn't trying to go ham. It's incredibly difficult to recover if 2 or 3 people die in a short period of time, and the more deaths, the harder the fight will become overall. Your group should anticipate wiping 3-4 times as you get the hang of moving through portals as fast as possible to maximize uptime on the 5x damage buff, but also remember that wipes happen, and that they aren't necessarily a bad thing. At no point should people sit there pointing fingers, but rather try and figure out why issues are, in fact, issues.

Didn't when I tried but someone can correct me if wrong

Nope. That would be too easy.

FML

Ah well, guess I'll have to do the daily mission to speed this up then. God I hate today's mission, the ascendant materials are no longer a good enough incentive to slog through it. I don't need that shit anymore, the Raid has given me enough ascendant shit to max out all the weapons and gear I want to.

*sigh*

I'll just cheese it to finish this damn bounty.

Mars, the Cabal + theme music = Best area, coolest opponent and tune. All hitting at once.

The Cabal is like fighting a weaponized version of the Fifth Element ancients:

Yes, I've been saying this for a while, it was cut and it was made obvious by the leak : it has a mission in the House of Wolves DLC where you need to " climb the giant structure on Venus to take on the Kell in the fortress over ishtar sink "

I really want to love this game, but I'm coming to the conclusion that this game just wasn't made for people like me. I'm a father of a 2 year old boy, house, wife, full time job, etc etc. I just don't have the time to grind.

I bet maybe 1-2 hours of videogame time a night after my son goes to sleep, there is just no way I could grind my way to all the materials and items you need to get legendary and exotic gear/armor.

I'm a level 21, I hit level 20 way later than all my friends, and I think I've gotten maybe 4 blue primary weapons, I've never even seen a legendary weapon. I feel like I've played all of the story missions and strikes multiple times over now, and I don't have the spare time to just grind them for gear.

Its a shame because they really didn't bill the game for what it ended up to be (as we all know). I didn't think it would be such an insurmountable grind to see some of the cooler things the game has to offer. And the worst part is that it seems totally random. I have invested a few nights grinding and doing dailies only to end up with basically NOTHING better than what I started with. Once you finish the story and have seen all the content, it sort of relegates the game to those users that just have endless amounts of time to game (which judging from GAF seems like the majority nowadays, you guys play A LOT!).

TLDR: this game is not for parents with full time jobs, and it makes me sad...

Ugh I really hate today's daily. Especially if it has Lightswitch again - there are several stealth vandals in the defend Dinklebot section that will one hit kill you from behind.

Speaking of which, why are melee enemies still a thing in FPS games? All they do is devolve gameplay into "walk backwards and fire everything".

"whenever we want it or not, we stepped into..."
i can not longer hear any of these mission intros, please Bungie.

Given your limited time, of course your aren't going to be a level 29 beating the Raid on Hard any time soon.

But doing ALL of the bounties on any given day (which should only take an hour or two) helps you in every area.

Just understand that things are going to come slowly. Save your Vanguard/Crucible marks and just buy the legendaries yourself. Do the weeklies and save and buy exotic from Xur.

With limited playing time you cannot rely on RNG

The first time I realized I could just glide in the air and be safe from heroic/angry thralls was the best.

So, I'm ready for the zombie apocalypse apparently. I have 3 Zombie Apocalypse WF47s each of a different damage type. I can't complain, they are really great weapons. Just wish I would get an exotic out of a legendary engram sometime or better RNG roles in the raid. No real point in hitting 30 though other than bragging rights, attempting the raid on hard (more RNG), and being ready for DLC to drop.

I'm a parent myself. I game when everybody sleeps. When you are addicted you have to sacrifice some sleep. I'm a zombie since release.
Like others said. Grind marks, it's the only guarantee for Legendary gear.

lvl 21? You're way ahead of a lot of people in my friend list. If you like the general game, you can just play some Strikes or Crucible 1-2 hours a night. You can still get good drops that way. And if you farm, just do it for 30 min a day and it's fine. Bungie actually wants people to take their time with the game. 10 year plan!

Wife, kid, job - check.

Same situation only I´m level 27.

If you just run around aimlessly night after night you wont achieve anything.
I´m playing for one hour a day and maybe two on weekends.

EDIT: DO NOT RELY ON RANDOM DROPS!

Buy your gear.

What did you do to be so blessed by the RNG? I want it but no luck so far...

Complete and utter luck my friend. I'd been shat on by RNG the entire game then just hooked up with a couple of gaffers to do the nightfall strike and was gifted it at the end.

Felt rather guilty as the other guys got nothing of note (Sorry Lollipop!)

It's by far the best looking bit of kit in the game. It feels fantastic to roll up in the tower or begin a crucible match and see I'm the only one wearing it. So far it seems a pretty rare piece. Probably means Xur will be selling it on Friday.

Find some people to run the daily mission and a daily event with every day, easiest way to pick up plenty of rep and materials.

Wife, kid, job here too. Level 28 Warlock. You'll get there! Run the Queen missions when you can as they drop legendary stuff which will bump you up.

No, but the experience you gain from completing patrol missions does count, or at least it did last time i had that bounty

I have found several areas on the Cosmodrone that have level 20, 24 and maybe even 28 ultras that are in the world, but you don't really have reason to go looking for them. I figure that they are there for future content, or as some people said, cut content but the enemies weren't removed.
