This is where the completely random end of match loot rewards are going to come in handy. I know I'm going to get destroyed since I haven't been very lucky getting the really good weapons, but at least I'll have a chance to get some nice stuff.

That helmet will come in handy once you start getting normal raid armor. Exotic helmet + normal raid chest, glove and leg armor is the quickest way to 30.
But would these events still happen if you are the only person in a zone? My experience has been no... you need at least one other person in the area...
I bought the Ghost Edition, so I'm set in that department.

Rockets are guaranteed kills... Every single gametype (sans Salvage) in PvP revolves around kills.

Yes, even if I'm the only person and I'm there 5 minutes before, they always start. The thing is they are sometimes 2 minutes early OR 2 minutes late, so if by X+1 minute they didn't pop, don't leave yet.
Example : for an event starting at X45, I'm there at X40, and the event is starting between X43 and X47.
Never failed since we do it this way, at least on the "Mothyard - Divide" run.

I've had a few events the last week that happened when I was the only one there. Had to defeat a fallen walker by myself yesterday. Still got gold tier.

Ah I lack that gun. Okay coo, good to see some folks are using Pulse Rifles. I was incorrect earlier then (when I said no one uses pulse rifles in Crucible). thanks yall

How do you guys handle the faction rep? Do you stay with Vanguard and crucible or do you earn it all to one of the other three factions?
I really can't decide if I should stay with the default ones or choose one of the other three. Do the factions get more items the higher you get their level or do they only have what they show before you join them?
I really need a new helmet for my titan. Right now I have the queens helmet, but I can't get over how ugly it is, but I don't like the looks of the ones the factions are selling either.

That's spot on. The green times aren't high chance - they're guaranteed. I always arrive 5 min early though.

Skywatch is pretty reliable for events, so I think that map is off a little bit.I started using this map for public events, it seems to be more accurate than the website.
I've had far less luck with anything on Mars, and more often than not I get a "Kill so-and-so before he escapes" when I'm on my own, which is just a waste of ammunition.

Shadow price is an excellent weapon, fully maxed. It's the best backup for a suros when you need to equip something else as your exotic in one of the other two slots. I do that all the time when I want to use Gjallahorn or something else.
Suros is an excellent PvE gun.
Edit: NM I confused Shadow Price for an exotic.

If you want to use Crucible marks (which you should since you can get up to 100 a week) but don't want to grind out Crucible rep, join a faction and upgrade it. Choose any of them, but see if any of them have gear you're more interested in. Your faction rep can go up quicker since Vanguard and Crucible rep is funneled to it.

Was on vacation in croatia that weekend.
So far I bought two exotic engrams from Xur and got two items I can't wear.
I also bought sunbreakers from him, he has them every week.
Factions are a waste of time too me. Massive waste. Because the equipment doesn't get you to Light 30 as far as I know. Plus, if your Vanguard rank not at least 2 and you go grinding faction then those marks will hit the cap and you'll lose'em

I think the most efficient way is to focus Vanguard and Crucible first. Either of those have the largest pool of weapons to choose from at Rank 3. Then focus a faction. If you try to do factions first, your vanguard marks are just going to stack up until you hit cap because you won't have anything to spend them on since the factions only take Crucible marks (which is dumb imo). Plus the factions only have 4 weapons each at rank 3 (2 primary/1 special/1 heavy).

The factions don't seem to get new items, so pick a faction with the item you want and train for that. Keep in mind that Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and FWC only accept crucible marks, so you'll need to play crucible if you want to buy them.
You get a legendary item from each faction you get reputation level 3 with, and an additional legendary item for every level after 3.
The only way to raise crucible reputation is through crucible rewards and bounties, so I don't usually wear a faction class item when i play crucible or turn in crucible bounties.

The reddit post that it's from is better. Has some extra information because events can be early or late. It's never been wrong for me.
Yeah SkyWatch is pretty hit or miss for me. Most time I just get that 'enemy is moving against each other' event. Which is fun to watch in its own way, but not when I'm just trying to farm the daily reward or a bounty.
Waitaminute. Does faction gear not break down into ass shards?
