"GT7 is going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015/2016"

Y2Kev already covered this in a previous Gt thread, but the idea of removing the legacy cars makes no fucking sense. You're asking for content to be removed, content that others are using. Why? To preserve the appearance of all premium cars for the sake of the neogaf screenshot thread?

Ask for the ability to filter them out, NOT to remove them outright.

There is no reason to not put them again.
Except for them looking horrible and having even worse interiors. That will negatively effect the game's visuals, and I guarantee they'll get critically knocked for it at every turn.

They need a clean sweep of their assets.

AE86 needs to finally become a premium dammit. :/

Yep. Tuned it even further and had tons of fun with it in GT 6. Initial D "Holy shit why am I racing a Ferrari" Stage.

Not my screenshot

They won't.

You can drive your visual premiums cars.

If it's open world I am going to literally not buy it.

Joke is getting old, also, why would it apply to GT? Its known as a track racer.

Not that I really want them removed, I just want to see a game that looks complete. Having two different car models is just lazy in my opinion. Too many games have been getting away with being somewhat incomplete.

I would love to have GT3 Kaz back. At least back then he had the balls to get rid of PS1 car models.

Agreed. Though I do hope a number of the standards are upgraded to premium (Merc-Benz 190e Evo II, Ruf BTR, Toyata Supra, and many others). The game is also in desperate need of the E30 and E36 M3.

Any GT news is good news. I can't wait to see footage next year. Holiday 2015 would an epic launch, but knowing PD, I expect 2016.

This is where GT find's itself again. I enjoyed GT5, skipped 6 but always had the impression that neither we're what they should of been. Like Kaz was trying to deliever on something he couldn't.

GT5 was good but overall PS3 era definitely wasn't a bright spot for the franchise. A lot of that is due to splitting up car quality I think. Time to get back on track.

Nope. I'm done with Gran Turismo. Either they're willfully ignorant about what people want or they just don't give a fuck.

Fix those engine sounds, record CAR ENGINES and not sewing machines.

I hear you, but your feelings seem to stem from the idea that the legacy cars bring down your enjoyment of the premium cars and the game as a whole. If you don't touch any of the legacy cars, there's no way for them to affect your enjoyment of the game.

If all legacy cars currently present became premium for GT 7, great, but that is highly unlikely if not downright impossible.

Your experience is perfectly complete with the premium cars you choose, just like mine is complete with the standard AE 86 and Supra.

I played all the GTs and GT3 was my favorite - it´s my favorite racing game of all time.

I thought 4 was unnecessary, but still good.

When I got 5 I was literally shocked. I know it got a lot better over time, but I didn´t give it that time.

Instead I moved over to Forza and while I really like Forza it´s missing that "special something" that only GT had.

I´m ready for GT to take the crown again - I´m just not sure if they can.

Honestly, they should just offer the standards as a download for those who want them. I personally enjoy the "encyclopedia of automobiles" that GT has become. I get they people don't like the standards, and think they bring the game down, and will subsequently bring reviews down... so sure. Leave them off the disc, provide them as a free download for those of us who want to drive some old obscure vehicles.

Then simply provide options in online lobbies that enable you to allow or disallow standards. Problem solved.

Kaz has no fucking clue how to make a compelling GT game again. Expect plenty more nonsense hype drivel in the next 4 years leading up to GT7's release. Nothing that has come out of that dude's mouth in the last 5 years has had any substance or accountability. I can barely visit the GT6 thread anymore because it is like watching a close friend abused by their SO.

PS3 hardware is not what has made GT games stagnant and frustratingly disjointed. Some new RAM and x86 isn't going to magically get Kaz's head out of his own ass. Kaz needs someone at PD to call him out on his shit and shake things up.

As far as gameplay and "shaking things up" is concerned... I though the Sierra Rally (aka Outrun) was a step in the right direction.
The PS3 era GT's lacked a progression in tuning, they were actually a step backwards. GT7 needs robust upgrade and tuning.

Yep, or finally redo all the old models.

Premium is the new Standard - GT7

(Sony marketing can have this line for free)

I remember an interview with Kaz were he said he wanted to make a GT which allows players to drive in open cities and obey speed limits and stuff.

So in about 1.5-2 years i'll finally be able to buy PS4.
Good Kaz, take Your time.

No, no no no and no again.
Just hide them in options for all the whiners. There is no reason to throw out completely playable content.

Thanks for calling me a whiner. And if playable is what matters why not just keep adding DLC to GT6 into perpetuity or just port it over as a remaster? That game is perfectly playable.

If you go next gen, people are going to want next gen assets, not a jarring mix with hundreds of cars having useless cockpit views.

I must say that GAF's loyalty to Polyphony is second to none.

Over hype, over promise, under deliver, and wait for the next GT. Seems like GT7 is 2 years away and with the way PD works, I'm predicting a half launch like GT6.

Somebody suggested having them as free DLC. Maybe a month after the game is out so reviewers don´t take them into account and the game is slicker overall.

While the games have flaws I didn't find any other racing game that delivered what GT5/GT6 did last gen.

It was really good times and I miss that.

I think the key here is that the under deliver was yet way ahead what the others delivered.

Gran Turismo 6 is an excellent game. I don't know why so many of you bash it, I think it is fantastic. I haven't played Drive Club or Forza 5 yet, but I have played just about every other racing game on consoles, and to me the GT series is head and shoulders above all of the others.

Yes, its whining. The only reason You dont want them in a game, is to not have visual inconsistency and trolls calling that game has PS2 assets.
I meantime, by winning freaking fanboy discussions, You throw away hundreds of cars that collectors like to drive.

GT was almost killed in terms of quality last generation, I think this guy is acknowledging that he fucked up last generation and GT7 will be more inline in terms of features and gameplay with the other racers out thus generation.

How is that trolling?

It has PS2 assets.

I drive in GT with the cockpit view.

A view that didn't work in GT5 at all for standards and functions as a black glob of nothingness in GT6.

I don't care about screenshot wars. I care about the cockpit view and what I see when I look through the windshield. Besides being crappy from the inside, they're jarring next to premium cars. They also make shitty gifts.

ahahahaha tickle us more.

gt5 had 12 cars on track, 24 hour time cycles, dynamic weather, snow tracks, rally tracks, nascar, go karts, b-spec simulation mode, 3d, a ton of wheel support, photo mode, etc.

and course maker, how could i forget.

stop embarrassing yourself.

How is that trolling?

It has PS2 assets.

And so what? They have updated shaders and what is more important they have updated physics and suspensions.
What do You gain by throwing them away, except for a fuel for an internet discussion?

So dont drive those cars. Problem solved.
Option to turn them off would allow to people like You to never see them and people like me to enjoy driving them.
As i said, throwing away playable content is stupid.
