You've got 4 years man I suggest you ration viewings...

I think people who think the bubble is going to burst aren't looking at the situation correctly. I don't think superhero movies will stop working the same way I don't think horror movies or comedies will ever stop working. The fact that they can make the movies with different tones and variations allows them to keep it fresh. Cap 2 and Guardians feel like completely different types of movies because they are. The only reason they are "superhero movies" are because they take place in a world established in a comic and share a universe.

I think they have to pay him a bajillion dollars for another solo film. His current contract is a way round it I guess.

Speaking of contracts, Marvel are cheap but how much are we talking here for the actors, not peanuts I presume but not a lot either?

RDJ is making $40 million just for his Cap 3 role. So yeah, it ain't cheap.

When have they strayed that far? Especially since they have laid the groundwork in AoS?
They've strayed from character power origins a few times, most obviously with the Maximoff twins, and I could definitely see them not using the Psyche-Magnetron with Carol. Giving the Terragen Mists a more magical origin, or having them come from another dimension could certainly happen.

But... why? As Slayven said they've already laid the groundwork for the Kree and Kree tech in AoS.

For legal reasons, why reinvent the wheel when they already got everything set up?

And guardians, forgot about Guardians.

I'm sure someone has mentioned this theory already, but what if the MCU's version of Terrigen Mist is the mystery drug from Agents of Shield?

The mystery drug from AoS is a derivative of Kree blood. I guess they could sort of use it that way if they say that the Kree on AoS was exposed to the Terrigen Mists and the experiments simply filtered that out. Not sure why it would have the effect it's been showing to have in the show though.

the inhumans are Kree experiements to test the limits of their adaptability, done and done. Nothing magical about terrigenmists or the inhumans.

I think the obelisk/Diviner is a terrigen crystal or something that the Inhumans use for the mist process. It's right there in the name, it divines the true evolutionary potential of the person undergoing terrigenesis. And it's apparently fatal to non-Inhumans.

Feige has been saying that the groundwork for Inhumans has already started to be put down, so that's what leads me to believe that AoS is in some way related to it. But it could also be the popular theory that
Skye is an Inhuman
, even though there would be a few holes if that were the case.

What is your favorite moment in the trailer guys?
Mine would be in the beginning when everyone was having their little party at the Stark Tower and they were trying to see if anyone can lift Mjonir.

I love it how when it was Cap try it, it budge it a little bit and the smile on Thor's face just faded. He was probably thinking "No freakin way..." lol

He got worried for a brief second. of course Hulkbuster moment was awesome as well, and being able to see Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in action was sweet.

Evan's said he isn't interested in acting in Non-Marvel movies that he's not directing himself. It's been clarified by him twice and mentioned in this thread quite a few times.

RDJ is on a movie to movie basis, as is SJ. Eventually the profit roof will be reached though and Marvel won't be able to match the desired pay of all of these actors on a movie to movie basis. At that point, either they have less crossovers or they tap new actors or new characters in some cases to take on the roles/mantles.
He must love being Cap. Glad he's gonna stick around for a little longer.

My dream Phase 4 movie is Alpha Flight. I wonder if the rights are tied up with X-Men lore.

Oh, and get Sean Maher for Northstar:

I'd imagine that the actors (for the most part) do enjoy playing the same character multiple times and developing this cinematic world that has become such a phenomenon. I bet a lot of them will stick around after their contracts like RDJ is for Cap 3 if they are properly compensated. Although I guess they will age out eventually, regardless of whether they want to stop playing the role or not.

Lucy did like 500 mil based almost entirely on Scarlett, don't sleep on the box office power

I'm not talking about Scarlett, I'm talking about the character. Seeing that character in a movie by herself does not sound interesting in any way. She's better as a supporting character in another, like The Winter Soldier.

LOL, you parade your opinion as fact, then a corporate decision as representing a majority of people? I await more groundbreaking public polling by you.

No, I did not. There's no reason for me to be throwing around "in my opinion" over and over when that should have been apparent from the moment I posted on a discussion board. As far as my second post, Feige and I share the same opinion that a Black Widow solo movie would not be as interesting as her in an Avengers-type movie, which is why it's not getting made.

And so would I if I was forced to watch his portrayal.

Don't throw those :(

Well, you have to remember that it's all about the box office. And a Black Widow movie probably does just as well as Lucy if not better, thanks to that Marvel bump. I'd also straight up call her second lead in Cap 2. She helped that movie out too.

They even had a Black Widow script in play, which got scuttled in favor of Guardians of the Galaxy.

After seeing Edge of Tomorrow I do not want Emily Blunt as Captain Marvel.
How could you not want her to play every character after seeing that movie?

Also, there has been a severe lack of Looper references when talking about Emily Blunt. She was great in that.

Alpha Flight would be awesome. Does anyone know who owns the rights? Are they mutants? I know they are tied to Wolverine but that's about it.

I don't know about the rights. I think of the OG crew only Northstar and Aurora are mutants, although their origins have changed with different explanations of their powers as well. Not sure what cannon is right now.

You see it move just after it cuts and the focus shifts to Thor's reaction. There are also sound effects for it in the video clip.

You can see it budged once at early in the gif.

Literally right before it blurs, it judders.

It's -barely- there. The only reason I noticed was because of the clink sound.

Thanks. I'm surprised so many people seemed to pick up on it at SDCC. It's extremely subtle.

Ant Man = Heist Film
Strange = Horror/Thriller
Inhumans = Game of Thrones in Space.

Anything else for Carol, BP, Thor 3?

I believe said BP will be very family oriented, and about T'Challa taking on the role of Wakanda's leader.

I think it would work well as a kind of Return of the King type story (Aragorn's, at least) - a nation that's kind of in shambles and threatened with invasion, but has a leader rise up and inspire the nation to fight for themselves.

Everything I see on Alpha Flight is saying Fox owns the rights. Not sure this is accurate though. Would love to see a movie based on the OG John Byrne run. One of my favorite comics as a kid.

The problem is giving her a mission/story that both warrants the size and scope of a movie but keeping it within continuity. At this point, it seems like all the movies going forward are working on an in-universe timeline. So what could Widow do in a movie that's a large enough threat to make a decent movie but at the same time doesn't gain the attention of the other Avengers? She's not powerful or unique enough to get a story similar to IM3 or Thor 2. They can't do a pre-Avengers story in it's own movie without confusing the continuity of the MCU at large for casual viewers. Just about the only thing I can think of would be some sort of espionage story having to do with the former Soviet Union.. but what kind of antagonist could they use that would require her specific set of skills alone?

I think this is pretty much why they didn't end up doing a Hawkeye stand alone and instead we'll probably see some flashback stuff in AoU that will show what he was up to during the events of TWS.
