lol, not at all. It wants you to think that, but it's all pretend. The ability to backtrack is useless, and there is absolutely nothing "survival based" in the game at all. It's Uncharted without the charm, the wit and the writing, and less varied setpieces.
No, you missed the fall sale. Winter sale is still coming.Bummer, did not find out about this until today. Guess I missed the "winter sale"
What the fuck is wrong with the Aliens: CM Season Pass? Its -80% but still costs twice as much as the full game.

Yeah, there's absolutely no survival anything to the game, but I disagree that it isn't more open. I mean, it's a matter of degrees, but the individual stages/worlds/whatever are quite a bit wider than the equivalent Uncharted levels. There are generally more ways to go about a level when they open up, which they do frequently. TR2013 tends to follow the Gears of War style "hourglass" macro design; you'll get your corridor, nowhere to go but forward shooting sequence followed by an open MGS3-sized level that you can tackle or explore at how you like. Then back to a corridor segment.
The QTE complaints are a little overblown...the intro has a ton of them but after the first couple of hours, they are pretty few and far between (though still annoying).
What the game should be noted for is having much MUCH better core controls than the Uncharted games. None of the swimmy animation priority, lots of air control (and a much better core jumping arch than Uncharted), slicker movement on the ground, and a subtly amazing auto-cover system that works amazingly well in context. Also, using the bow is more fun than any gun in an Uncharted game.
TR2013 isn't brilliant or even great, but it's better than any Uncharted if you like playing games rather than watching or listening to them.
I had my fun with Uncharted and I wouldn't mind having one similar to it, so I think that sets my decision to buy it. Thanks for the opinions, everyone!
They should have added more (and larger) tombs and puzzles and less shooting. The game feels so generic.
Half the reason I was waiting for a sale is because I heard the game was hurting for some patches. How does it run now?
I forgot they did a second kickstarter. Did it fail?
Is Skyrim Legendary Edition at $15 as cheap as it has gotten? This comes with everything, right?
check it's store page when in doubtDoes anyone know if the Murdered Soul Suspect for $6 at GMG is a steam key? Saw on slickdeals
Third party DRM: Steam
it's been cheaper. I'd hold off for winter sales, because between steam and other services such as GMG you'll probably find it for less in a few weeks.
Does anyone know if the Murdered Soul Suspect for $6 at GMG is a steam key? Saw on slickdeals
so Shadowrun Returns for 1.50 or Dragonfall for 6 bucks
But... she does. Except her one-liners are lame as shit, as is the rest of the writing.I completely disagree and vastly prefer TR over Uncharted 1/3. Uncharted 2 is about as good, but in different ways. TR not having "charm" and "wit" makes sense when the topic at hand is survival on hostile island inhabited by crazies. Lara not cracking jokes after killing dozens of people is a good thing as far as I am concerned.
Barely. The core of the game is really linear, the openness is a disguise.Yeah, there's absolutely no survival anything to the game, but I disagree that it isn't more open. I mean, it's a matter of degrees, but the individual stages/worlds/whatever are quite a bit wider than the equivalent Uncharted levels.
Completely disagree, but I won't derail this thread with yet another UC vs TR debates, so I'll leave it at that. I just had to say something when someone said the game had "survival" elements, which is an absolutely laughable claim.TR2013 isn't brilliant or even great, but it's better than any Uncharted if you like playing games rather than watching or listening to them.
Okay, I'll wait then. Thank you.
i was wrong, it's the cheapest it's been without using store credits in GMG or getting it from the russian bear
if you have Enchanced Steam installed, it will tell you the cheapest it's been, like below:

Oh, okay. So do you think I should go for it at this price or just wait and see for a Winter Sale?
Dragonfall is much better, but Dead Man's Switch (the OG campaign) is still worth playing, especially for $1.50.
That's a good rule of thumb to go by. I guess I'll wait it out then. I mean I've already waited 3 years and I'm not in a rush. Thanks for the tips, I just downloaded the extension.the general rule of thumb i go by is this: am i going to play this game within the next few weeks or not?
If not, then hold and wait it out. It'll either be cheaper in the future or, at worst, the same price it's at now.
I paid $15 for Wolf2014 recently which kinda breaks my $10 or less rule, but i didn't mind it because it's now the next game im going to play. However, i'd be a bit miffed if i paid $15 and didnt play it for 6 months and it went to $10 or below.
Basically, ask yourself if A) youre going to play it now (so that you don't care if it gets cheaper in the future because you already played and enjoyed the game) and B) are you ok with the price. If so, then go for it. It's not going to be on sale for a few more weeks and the difference is just going to be a few bucks, if at all.
DLC prices are generally static. In fact, I can't name off the top of my head a single example of a piece of DLC that was reduced in price alongside the base game.[/URL].
Splinter Cell Blacklist is an amazing stealth game, for anyone interested in the genre. It was my GOTY last year due mainly to its great level design and open ended missions. I played it on Xbox but am considering double dipping on PC.
I've definitely seen DLC on sale. For instance, I purchased Sleeping Dogs DLC on sale.

So I just installed Durante's fix for Dark Souls, reading the instructions it says that unlocking the framerate to 60fps has "side effects" and that I could be banned from online play, which ones specifically? should I do it or not?
Just read that Neko Para is actually a hentai game. Stop cutting my games, I am not that kind of religious.
Damn; missed the South Park sale![]()

Help, I can't make decisions for myself: Should I get Dragonfall or Wasteland 2? For context, I'm looking for an RPG with an emphasis on player agency that runs well on a laptop (2.1 ghz quad core processor, low end dedicated GFX card, to be precise) that I could conceivably beat in two weeks or so of moderate playing while on vacation. Time and specs are the issue rather than money, so the price difference is meaningless. I'm equally interested in both settings, so that's also not an issue. Which would be the better fit?

I bought Dragonfall to play down the road a bit but consider me confused as I thought the original campaign was in the game just tweaked with added content and whatnot, is this not the case?
For instance, there is a glitch on some ladders and surfaces in the geometry that will cause your character to fall through the world.
The warning about banning is just in case, as the mod does mess with the executable, which is bannable. No one has been banned, to my knowledge.
Jumping is a little 'tighter', but there are no jumps you shouldn't be able to make. Get your old-skool Castlevania on.
Also don't slide down ladders -you may fall out of the world (ymmv).
You prolly won't get banned from GFWL.
Also, if you want to wait a while GFWL will be removed entirely.
Oh I just googled ladder glitch, I'd rather not risk it in this game, what a terrible port seriously, GFWL, 720p 30fps...
Thanks, I was going to wait but I read the fix was delayed, I really want to play it![]()
There are 2 shadowrun campaigns: Dead Man's Switch and Dragonfall.
Dead Man's Switch is in the base game (shadowrun returns). Dragonfall was orignally an expansion pack/DLC for Shadowrun Returns that they eventually re-released as a standalone game call Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall Director's Cut.
Yup. It's not worth sacrificing 60 FPS when you can easily just toggle it back and forth with backspace for those rare instances.Seriously, you should play at 60fps. There is one ladder (the one directly after the rats under the bridge) that makes you fall through consistently. I've never had it happen anywhere else. The game feels so much better at 60, and the difference is so small in terms of gameplay negatives. As for those jumps, you can hit backspace to toggle the framerate - make the jump - toggle framerate again. There are a total of maybe 3-4 jumps in the game that become more difficult because of it, and none of them are on the critical path.

So if I want the full Shadowrun Returns experience I should also get the original game as well, I take it?
