They know they can SELL ANYTHING what's called Final Fantasy. And even more if it's called Final Fantasy 7. So they want money and they give a shit about quality. They think: You want a FF7 remake? You can have it! There was the PC Version with upscaled resolution. You get that! We make resoultion a bit higher for PS4 and you give us 40-60 bucks for it!

You HIRE people to do it. FF7 is not a complicated game to remaster and they can still use pre-rendered backgrounds. We don't need a FF15 quality remaster.

Can't wait to play it again but with trophies. Honestly don't know what people were expecting? A full on remake? With all the attention focused on FF15? Would you want a remake? People would bitch about that too oh it's not like how it should be, the budget is too low, the game Is another cash in, they've run out of ideas. Square Enix failed so they're resorting to this remake....list would go on. I'm happy with this. Means we will get FF8 9 and probably 12 in some form too. This is a Japanese company we're talking about - and it's square Enix you're asking for a near miracle.
A remake wouldn't use prerendered background - a remastered certainly could but that's assuming they still have all the original art assets and haven't lost them or destroyed it.
Don't buy it don't let square get the money.

If it was remastered we're talking about PS1 era CGI so you're probably just going to end up with the PC version anyway. To truly "remaster" would surely mean they would either have to create it in 3D or re-render the backgrounds again but at a higher quality level.
Neither of those are simple as they both require building the graphics again.

TR will drop on PS4 later anyway.Its a timed deal that Sony doesn't need because they have uncharted.

Oh, I disagree. The abyssal depths to which Square Enix has sunk, Dragon Quest aside, is highly amusing, at least to me. These old fools in charge are living in a fantasy world if they believe that shitshow was in any way acceptable.
But the reactions of the super-fanboys are even funnier, especially those from the poor saps who will buy this late PC port anyway, even after being so blatantly disrespected to their virtual faces. I thought the PS4 could play PS1 games? Just buy the PS1 version off PSN, and a PS3 or Vita if you need one, if you really want it. There's bugger all difference.

No, the PC port dates back from 1998. What they recently released on Steam is just that old port, fixed up to run on modern hardware.

See, it is a nice idea. In fact, if it weren't for how it was handled it would have been a great idea. Except, SE and Sony both know that people are still thinking about that tech demo from the PS3. People aren't asking for a remaster at random, they're asking because SE teased that. They did something similar to this with the PS1 classic as well, if my memory serves me (maybe it was when it was Vita compatible).
Basically, it just boils down to the fact that SE and Sony know that this is not what anyone is asking for, they know the hype and rumours, but they still decided to go on stage and show the logo and talk about reliving the classic... and it's the same game we already owned 17 years ago, that we bought on the PS Store already and that many probably bought on Steam as well.
Knowing the hype, this should NEVER have made it onto a stage. It should have been a blog post saying "The PC port of FFVII is coming to PS4 in 2015, bringing trophies" or whatever.
How many times does Sqenix have to say "We have no plans of a remaster of FFV" before it sinks in? Seriously? Its not happening. I'm pretty happy we're getting a kind-of-uprsessed port of it with trophy support.
I don't even want to imagine the amount of resources even required to remaster it, you'd have to start from scratch.
If you dont care about this, don't buy it. If you wanted to re-experience FFVII in all of its glory with trophy support, than this is worthy of an announcement imo.
They could have been a bit less trolly with with title screen, but it is what it is.

yes FFVI on 3ds needs to happenThat would look weak though. What's the point of that? It's not like the HD Remixes of Street Fighter II massively improved things. They kinda do have to do the full 3D environments. Since it's pre-rendered I have to imagine the 3D models for each scene are lying around somewhere. Render them in real time.
