The Order. Although i think he will change his mind when UC4 is showed at E3. Showing it this early was never going to give you a better idea of how the final game will look.
This will forever be the cycle of ND games. Hyped from teaser trailer, disappointed by first look, civil war until the game releases, then everyone forgets about the past year and talks about how fucking great it looks because they're actually playing it instead of looking at videos and comparing pictures.

Can you give me any different downgrade of the game other than that E3 trailer, for example, in-game graphics? Keep bringing up that pic is really boring and lame
UC2 is what put ND on the map. No one was really looking at Uncharted 1 and praising "Naughty Gods". That E3 showing and the final product blew everyone away because they didn't know ND was that capable. Now they're seen as one of the best developers in the business.
Since then it's been the same cycle with UC3, TLOU, and UC4 as far as I can observe.

funny how the bandwagon jumping " show me the gen leap" brigade, who have an axe that the ps4 is a weak pc, with tablet class cpu, seem to accept the Order (and driveclub with weather) does show a next gen jump.
Makes me glad because if those visuals exist, ND have everything they need in silicon, to surprise with the final game.

The only underwhelming one was UC3. TLOU demo was jaw dropping. Again not for visuals which were good but the awesome gameplay.
I'm in about the same boat. I think I just had really high expectations. i.e. Unity, without the crowds but running at a reasonable frame rate. This looks... like UC3 with a better Drake model and more ground foliage. Still, should be interesting to see how it pans out in the end.

I think we need to keep in mind that this is just the moment to moment combat from Uncharted, and doesn't even show off the set pieces that they're known for. U2 blew everyone away because you were fighting in a building while it fell apart around you. I can't wait to see what kind of crazy set pieces this game has, I think it will really step it up in terms of being impressive visually.

I'm sure Naughty Dog will deliver something fantastic, but I just can't see them hitting 60fps at the level they showed at E3.
I think I simply overhyped myself too much.

No I don't think it is. It looks good, but I wasn't all that impressed with it compared to other games coming out in 2015. Games like Batman, the Division, Witcher 3, the Order all look better to me graphically. Then there's Star Citizen which is just on another level compared to other games. A lot of great looking games coming down the pipeline yay 
I don't want them to show anything like that yet just to impress people. I want them to show some more gameplay that's a bit more exciting and leave it at that. Once the fans buy it and talk about it, then others will follow.
I don't care if concern trolls and naive gamers end up not shutting the fuck up about how average they think the game will be. The games sales won't depend on a set piece demo. It's a big enough franchise where it just needs the proper promotion and good review scores to do relatively well in sales. We have two expert game directors working on this and the gameplay looks solid as steel already 10-11 months out.

Those are subtle differences though (i.e. models, textures haven't drastically changed). Not what I would consider major visual differences (i.e .the old reveal is at least 90% of the way there). For example the initial reveal of UC4 compared to this demo's gameplay is vast.

GOW3 models got drastic changes. The first reveal model looked almost like PS2 with washed out textures. The demo model was 20K polys with toes as simple falt textures while the final model had 35K polys with 3d toes and many subtiles animations like muscle flexing etc.

I think people are taking an "authoritative" opinion piece as a platform for debate on a topic that otherwise would have little-debate.
Oh I agree with you 100%. I was very impressed by the game and the gameplay looks absolutely amazing. That said, I think they are going to show some big set piece from the game before it releases. It seems to be the pattern with the Uncharted games.

The thing that people aren't thinking about when PBR is mentioned is that it's not based on texture maps. A material is a representation of how light scatters on a surface and reflects back to the viewer. Texture maps have nothing to do with it. Say, I want to create a brick wall. The first thing I have to do is get the correct model for a material that will scatter the light properly for such a diffuse object under any lighting condition. After I get those values right and the material correct, I can add the texture maps on it for the surface color and details (i.e. bumps, etc..). One physically correct material that behaves like that is Oren-Nayar diffuse model. This is a physically based diffuse model. In order to capture specular for plastics, or metals, we'd use another physically based model like Generalized Trowbridge-Reitz model, or a Cooke Torrance model.
After these things we have to make the material be energy conserving, and that introduces yet another model called Fresnel (within the specular model that subtracts light contribution from the diffuse model). We want our model to add up all the features and sum to 1. That's the purpose of energy conservation.
I could go on and on but basically texture maps are just an addition to get the color correct to differentiate between a red brick and a green brick for example. It is no way a factor to be considered when implementing a PBR pipeline.
How far off from the E3 reveal do you really think they are? Also you need to look at the ancient footage of The Order compared to the latest footage

You can find cases that refute subtle changes during development. I am not going to argue that. In general, as a whole, a lot of development for features are done very early on in a game's life cycle before it's even shown. My point is, I'm more confident that what was shown is 90% or more close to the final version as far as features are concerned. This is my opinion of course.

Pay attention to Galahad in the last gif or the old and new versions. The difference isn't subtle at all.

The Uncharted 4 demo far exceeded my expectations. It's like Naughty Dog looked at everything the series could improve on and then fixed it. The numerous branching paths, improvement to traversal, dynamic and varied combat all displayed in that short demonstration.

I don't even know what some people mean when they say generational leap anymore. Are they saying they were expecting ND games to look a generation beyond current generation games? Are they saying it's not a generational leap from Uncharted 2 and 3?

Screw IQ and frames per second. Where are the genius programmers making sure multiplayer is fast, seamless and bug free. Because that area seems to be stagnant or even regressing while everyone is arguing the pros or cons of one esoteric anti-aliasing solution over another.

Since the E3 teaser was already running in real time at 60 frames per second and a part of a real level in the game, do you think it appear in the final game?
Perhaps this game play demo was at an earlier point than the e3 teaser. Drake clearly has less detailed hair. His shirt looks completely different, lacks detail, and is a bit blurry when viewed up close. I also noticed in the cut scenes, there is no proper self shadowing.

It is not a generational leap in relation to other good looking current gen games. Big surprise. Even having seen the recent Order and FFXV videos, this is probably the best looking game I have seen so far. To be honest, I am surprised it looks so solid at this stage.
To be honest, the thing I dislike about the tone of discussion on Neogaf, is that it is either the second coming or extremely disappointing. I don't think that is what people think, but it is what antagonistic discussions often generate.
