Is this a "It's not gay if your wife's okay with it" thing?

EDIT:Oh it's a special not a series, thank god.

"He prefers the company of men!"
"Who doesn't?"

Oh my god, that last line. I feel bad for him, its not going to be easy to find a lady that's okay with being a beard, I hope he gains the confidence to just date men eventually.

I don't even see how this is funny; I feel bad for the fucking guy if anything. Can't even be who he is. I know he signed up for this but TLC really needs to take initiative and chill with the exploitative bull shit.

TLC continues its downward trajectory. This is the kind of shit I have in mind when I cheer declining cable subscription numbers.

As far as the topic at hand? In my experience, when a guy is torn between dick and no dick.. dick tends to eventually win.

The Learning Channel

This is just feeding into what will ultimately be a lifetime of misery for these guys if they don't get help.

After the initial reaction of laughing about it, I've realised it is just plain sad to make fun of those men living in such a homophobic and oppressive environment (regardless of the potential of everything being staged). Won't be watching or contributing to any of that.

Denial would have been a better title.

Religious hypocrites continue to be the most frighting group of people.

I don't know how you can believe in god, believe in eternal punishment, believe god says not to do something and do it anyway.

TLC *sigh*

...Well ...I'd hope they're bi. Otherwise being married to someone you have no sexual attraction to sounds awful for both people.

It's sad to think about how homophobic some communities still are in the US.

This is certainly a possibility, and for their sakes I hope they are actually attracted to their wives.

"I'm attracted to my wife, for sure. And I'm definitely attracted to men too."

It sounds like some of them are bi (the horror of a bisexual man marrying a woman!) and some of the others seem like they're "pray the gay away" type people.
I'm going to watch the shit out of this.

Reposting what I said in the LGBT thread when it was mentioned there:

The funniest thing about this is SLC is the biggest gay community in Utah.

TO completely change my first post, since I misunderstood that it was a special and not a series.

Is this an important thing, in any way. Like, I personally do not find this interesting at all.

None of them are even cute, will not watch.

Anyway, if they say they're attracted to dudes but also their wives they just sound bi. What's the big deal?

Not sure there's any downward trajectory left. They've been reveling in the role of bottom feeders for years now.

True. If you had warped me from 20 years ago to today, I'd be convinced that some parts of Idiocracy are coming true (despite being well aware of the story's flaws).

I'm actually confused about the premise. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be about bi dudes or gay guys who are "attracted," to their wives as people but not physically in any way.

Oh, I'm dumb as that makes much more sense (loosely) for a show. If that's the case, these dudes will be on Grindr within a couple years looking for "discreet hookups." It's already full of closet cases.
