The ranking system shouldnt be bound to the win or loss of the team. Its so annoying losing your ranking points because you got a 2+ K/D but you lose because your teammates go 1 kill 17 deaths or smth like that (had a round yesterday where my mate and i both got about 15:3 but the other two guys got about 2:16). Also you cant play with friends who are lower ranked, because once you lose you will lose a really high amount of points but just gain 3-5 from winning.
Atm the ranking is just rewarding you for playing with a group instead of playing alone in matchmaking.
If they want to keep this ranking system they should at least fix the mm that you only play with player equal to your skills
I am sorry, but I can not agree with that. I think the whole pupose of a competetive team shooter is ... Winning or loosing as a team. This is 4 vs 4. Not 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 ... Every major competetive game has rankings based on how your team is performing (League of Legends, SCII, Dota and so on). Every Halo released so far had its competetive rankings based on winning or loosing. Either you lead your team to victory - or you will fall with them.
In my opinion it is just so lazy to say "but ... I had a positive KDR". Because this is not what it's about. It's about your capability to work with your mates as a team.
If this game would really has an individual skill rating system - the whole purpose and the competetive vibe would be completely gone. As soon as you get a positive KDR you can just hide and play passive - while your team simply gets destroyed. An individual ranking would be the worst thing that could ever happen to Halo (excluding Rumble Pit modes obviously).
