Fyi if anyone is in Austin, TX - the Toys R Us in the tech ridge center (near Parmer and 35) has 1 Mega Man amiibo for sale.

I keep asking this question in hopes if someone doing it, but does no one sell opened Amiibos on the rarer stuff? I want Rosalina and I don't want her to be sealed or whatever; It's going to be played with and not sit on a shelf to gather dust. I look on eBay and Amazon and everything is sealed and meant for adult collectors.

Do you guys think that once the spell dies down that people will start selling open box versions of the rarer ones?

Absolutely. Kind of surprised they haven't been already. Or maybe they do but they sell so quickly it's hard to spot them.

The problem though is this. If there is no restock on something like Little Mac, prices aren't going to go down, they are going to go up. So in say 4 months, you might be able to find an open Little Mac. Problem is, it might cost the same then as a new one costs now.

I don't know anywhere that specifically sells used amiibo unfortunately.

Right now open box amiibos for sale are hard to come by unless they are customs, and even if you do find a few the prices aren't really lower. I do believe a used market will emerge eventually especially if people start to get fed up with collecting and decide to get out the game. Im sure gs will start selling used as well.

The rarity and hype is keeping a lot of amiibo from being opened I think. Once the hysteria over the Smash waves dies down or restocks stabilize stock I think you'll see a lot more people opening their figures. A lot of mine are still sealed just because the games I want to use them with haven't released yet. I do intend to open them, but why prematurely drop the value?

Got my Ike

Packaged good but cardboard back was damaged. I don't care since I'm opening it anyway. Amazon packed it fine but I suspect the third party seller that was "fulfilled by Amazon" was the one that fucked it up.

If we try to do any toys as Open Box at Best Buy theysre marked as PRC or to be thrown away and we can't keep stuff that is being trashed.

Amiibos are so new and if anyone opened the box it means they really wanted to display the figures in their home or use them in a game. That being the case, they haven't been displayed or used for very long, and likely these people are still building up their showcase. I think it will be months before you start seeing "used" ones for sale.

Sure, actually it's not Transfer Money (I do that a lot sorry), that's to like put money into your bank from paypal. You actually need to click on Send & Request, and then Pay for Goods or Services. Just wanting to be as specific as possible.

Just got back from checking several stores, including two Best Buys. I didn't find any Little Macs or Captain Falcons, but didn't expect to. However, I did finally find a Donkey Kong and Yoshi. I know they really aren't that rare, but I have been looking for them for a bit. :)

A shipment came today at one of my local BBs that has 8 Little Macs in transit, but they didn't come today. So I am thinking they will be coming on their next shipment.

There is another shipment of 8 in transit for another local BB, I am hoping it will be for their next shipment. Their normal shipments are on Friday.

*fingers crossed*

So I go to my usual ToysRUs and see that they suddenly have a bunch of Sonics. I'm not a fan of the character, but it's a rare and I decide to go for it. Then, out of nowhere I ask when were they getting Mega Man.

They had one. One of the employees was saving it for himself. The guy in charge was nice enough to take it out for me. I'm done with Amiibos for the time being.

Some sellers will ask you to "send gift or add 4%"

Never send a gift payment when paying for something. You lose all buyer protection. If required, pay the +4%.

Gotcha gotcha.

Was at a TRU in Michigan on Monday and they had just stocked the shelves with tons of Mega Man and Sonic. Picked up one of each.

Nice! I was able to get one of each during gamestop's small ordering windows last week, but it's great seeing any cool amiibo readily available to people of all ages and schedules. I just noticed Megaman's sold listings are only marked up $4-7 from the MSRP at this point, less if I subtracted shipping costs, when they were marked up $20 above MSRP just two weeks ago. Any resellers lost this round. :)

It was insane, there were more Megaman and Sonic than the rest of the amiibo combined

*Sigh*...why can't there just be one more restock of Dedede and Ike, is that too much to ask? Ike I figured would be hard to find, but come on...and Dedede, he's the primary villain in of Nintendo's most popular franchises...why is his supply so limited?

And here I thought I was being overly optimistic when I speculated that MM and sonic would be not all that rare after the initial panic.

Sounds like those 2 characters got hit hard by limited manufacturing ability or something, considering not even all the pre-orders got filled. Maybe more will show up on shelves in a couple months when gamestop is able to fill the rest of its preorders.

can confirm too, hell they had tons of megaman and sonics, wish i could get a Captain falcon or lil mac, gonna check bb tomorrow and if not, well i'll wait till i get my WFT then see about trading .

Looks like the Sonic/MM situation in NA will be similar to Europe after all. Very easy to find here, unlike DDD, MK and especially Shulk.

well we're in the same boat in respect to Ike...it's seeming impossible without importing at this point

Union Square Best Buy? Was just there a couple of hours ago. First time checking out their Amiibo section and it's small as hell.

Yeah its pretty bad there they barely restock, the other day I went most of the legs were empty with only peach and Diddy Kong available for purchase

I expected more from a 24 hour best buy in such a high traffic area.

What is this LineGAF people keep referring to?

It's an app a group of us are using that sends out notifications. We use it so we know instantly when an amiibo is available. The room is limited to like 100 members though I do believe and I think it's full.

Managed to snag what appeared to be the last Little Mac at the Best Buy on 44th Street NYC. Sounded like they had 12 in total at the start of the day. I overheard they did not get Falcon. So some BBs are definitely getting Mac at least.

Just out of curiosity, what time was it when you got the Little Mac. Congratulations as well.

It was around 11:45AM. They actually had them in a draw and not out on the racks.

The store was also strict that it was 1 per person. Someone in front of me wanted 2 but they told him no.

That's really good to know. I'm glad that the other stores besides Nintendo World are enforcing a limit on all the hard to find amiibo.

So an employee isn't allowed to shop at the store he works at? I bet if someone on here put one on hold and someone went in and took it, you guys would be singing a different tune.

I didn't say that.

If you're on the clock you don't get to hold product aside to buy later. This is different than calling a store and having an employee say they'll hold something for you.

It was nice to see as well. The reason I overheard was something along the lines that they had received a number of complaints regarding people buying multiples. I guess some stores are finally starting to listen.

Difficult for me to have sympathy since my local Best Buy didn't have a meta knight opening, basically because their employees hoarded the ones that they had.

Hey fellow Amiibo bretheren, is Sheik considered rare these days? I have an extra and am trying to decide whether to return it to Amazon or sell it on here at cost to a fellow gaffer.

I see her everywhere I go, but I guess if somebody here has an unlucky location then you might be able to do that. Otherwise I'd just return it like I did my extra.

She's so easy to find that even I've found a lot of them, and it took me a month just to find a Luigi!

Who said this guy was working? Wouldn't he have purchased it if he was there? Maybe he called and had them hold it.

No, that's the thing. At most stores employees can't purchase stuff when they are working. They have to wait till they are off of work hours or on break, and get another person to ring them up. It prevents people from just buying things that get delivered as they are delivered. Can be shitty if you aren't the kind of person to abuse it, but that's why stores normally let their people put stuff on hold like that and treat it as a case by case basis for if you keep it on hold if someone else comes.
