It's for humiliating monsters. I was farming Kushala yesterday and knew it was very low after a mount so I kicked it in the face and it died. Shame I didn't get a gem that try, that would have been too perfect.

I mean while true, graphics are not the sole source of quality, gameplay is important. For a $200 hand-held with graphics that haven't moved passed 1998.

^ this didn't work very well for me. He moves so much when he's in a pitfall trap that you sometimes hit the air. And you also bounce off on his arms when he's in rage. Generally Rajang is such an unpredictable dickwad that I found it really hard to cheese him like that so I went and whipped out my trusty glaive and learned the fight and broke his horns without much of a problem. He's quite resistant to mounting but if you do get one in you can get rid of one horn quite easily. Got two hearts and that horn after only three kills.

Black Blos anybody? Can do it with two.

Yes you need to position yourself correctly, just run at it in about an 45° angle and your gonna hit, it doesn't matter if you miss a few hits (the baseball ones are the important ones).

I failed a few times and thought i'd never be able to do it but it's really easy once you figured it out.

You can also get white monoblos horn by just swinging at it with a hammer and cashing the subquest (no traps required). [Edit: Thanks to Shiinas comment, might be quicker with e.g. IG and beatdown and stuff]

If you're G2 and have any insect glaive you can also get explorer (alcohol+fish if not a daily) and go to Rathalos (Sovereign of the Sky) and mine a bit, then return to the zone where you started -Rathalos should be waiting there now- and do 2 mounting attacks to break it's back and cash out via sub.
Can net ~60k and lvl10 charms.

what's the rule with the boulders on the egg fetching quests?
I'm doing the final delivery quest with frenzy rathian/rathalos. blew up a magic boulder to reach the camp faster for the second egg, but for the third egg it seems I can no longer blow up the new boulders ? what the hell is going on

There are bigger magic boulders which aren't explode-able, in order to make you wander all over the map lugging that egg around.

I discovered (by accident) that one can actually jump quite a long way down while carrying an egg without breaking it even without Felyne Lander. Perhaps it's only necessary for those long falls between zones? I'm tempted to try it out on all the plateaued sections in Heaven's Mount to see how high I can fall before it breaks.

Should I bother make another HR armor? I have Nerscylla S and Gore S. I was thinking of making the Rath Heart or Soul armor. It's kind of annoying to constantly eat for the huge fire weakness with the Gore armor.

I'm running around in either Velo S or Nescy S and I think I'll need another armour set too to get me through HR7. Akantor has it too easy one-shotting me, which is annoying. Just don't know what I want to make, Rath Soul takes too much Rubies. :/

Oh well, if anyone wants to do the HR6 urgent, I'd be down, need some Phosgems from the thing.

Transporter + Feline Lander + auto tracker.

Makes it super easy. Pick up an egg, wait till they start to fly to the nest, you see them almost there and take off. They'll spend some time landing and scooting around the nest before they start coming after you, but they'll never catch you, even without dash juice.

You probably had felyne lander without realizing it. You know how some walls you can just scale by holding R and running towards it? You can fall off those without felyne lander. Anything that requires you to sheath + climb will break your egg without felyne lander.

Well that's still in the spirit really, the point is to find the quickest way for you to cash out the sub.

Edit: All those + the rathalos thing can get you 4/5 of the equipment pieces for the very nice endgame set (with rath x greaves until you can get the ones that require gogma wyrmporium trade in)

Only thing you can't cheeze is rusty kusha (but if you have it, it's practically unfailable)

Well if it makes you feel better it's actually a high rank akantor. There is one trick and that's flash bombing his charge to let you get a few hits in, plus he drops a shiny which is nice.

Other wise it's really just the most boring and enraging battle ever.He will kill you without you realizing it, and his openings are small as hell.

If you're using a greatsword I highly recommend bringing something with fast charge.

EDIT: Got him, took over 40 minutes though. Had to just run circles around him every time he enraged.
