They use a special camera setup which is like a ball with many cameras dotting the surface. Later they stitch these shots together. You can tell sometimes when it's been done poorly but in regards to the models in these videos there's never an issue with them having anything cut off.

If they can get the capture equipment cheap enough, the part of the porn world that's going to be revolutionized isn't the world of pre-produced, pre-packaged porn (and the truth of the matter is that tube sites are killing that part of the industry already, and I don't think VR is going to save it because VR will still be a piratable experience), it's cam shows. I agree with you about the bandwidth requirements for a full 360 degree image, but I'm not sure I think we'll need that much info, since basically I don't expect people to be looking away from the model. I feel like you could probably cheat and do something like 180-210 degrees and get away with it. And if this were to happen in the next few years, it wouldn't be with a MyFreeCams level of model. What it would be, more than likely, is a Porn Valley actress going into a specially built studio and holding these shows for a fee. Even that isn't feasible right now, but that's what I see becoming feasible in the near future (I could be [and probably am] wrong about that, of course).

Though now that I think about it, girls selling custom VR videos would be kind of awesome.

Edit: And I argue that the best way to combat piracy isn't truly interactivity (though it helps alot), it's personalization. The interactivity of cam shows makes them personalized (it's why the most popular cam models are the ones that respond to their fans/the chat frequently and visibly), and custom videos is a thing that I think is ready to explode if people start making them cheap enough (or find a way so they can be crowdfunded instead of individually bought).
