Yeah...I mean I know I'd probably end up having a good time with all the other shit that goes on there. But seeing him at a huge festival like that probably wouldn't be the most enjoyable way to see him.

It's pretty amazing how much of a gulf there is in how good the 2nd half of this album is compared to the 1st, and I still like the 1st half.
Only have Mortal Man left to listen to.

.I've only done one listen and I think I like it more than S80, it's not GKMC level but I didn't really expect that based on the singles leading up to this. I'm kind of glad King Kunta leaked early, because even though I still don't care for that song, it kind of prepared me for the funk vibe this album has going on.
My favorite song is hood politics. Best beat on the album in my opinion.

I look at it like how folks looked at In My Lifetime Vol 1 around the time it came out. People shitted on that album hard but honestly...it was probably Jay's most personal album next to Reasonable Doubt.

Not sure Kendrick fans will like it - at least, not all. If you went in expecting Money Trees and Maad City tracks you won't like this album.

Will review this tomorrow or later this week. This is one of the most ambitious albums I've heard in awhile, When it works it's stunning. At other times it feels like it suffers from studio isolation: overthinking shit, born from spending too much time trying to perfect things. That being said overall I think the album hits more than it misses.
The production is amazing, the concept is well executed. It builds up to quite a climax and nails it.
With respect to For Free...he's not talking about women, I don't get the Black Girl Lost/What Girls Life comparison.
And I agree Anna Wise shouldn't be on Institutionalized.

Mortal Man could be the best song he ever put out. From a lyric perspective, to a fitting beat and to the outro with the convo... Chills. Literally, I felt speechless when it ended. A true closer to an album, and a fantastic track on its own.

The song felt like the biggest "sike" on the album. It was random and annoying.
It's really great sonically. Not sure I agree with complaints about the mixing, the track sounds fine on my headphones. Vocals seem about right.

One of my favourites on the whole album. Love everything about it, starts the album off perfectly.
