I really want to listen to this but my right ear has had some serious wax building up inside it, and listening to music isn't very enjoyable right now. I hope there's a track as good as dying of thirst on this album.
I like Cole's heart but dude is such a simplistic rapper. Kendrick is on another level artistically. Cole's entire career approach seems like something he wrote on a sheet of paper as a 15 year old rap stan.
surprised people don't like for free, that track is nuts
So are you if you seriously think it's a good track.surprised people don't like for free, that track is nuts
First impression: Its gonna be so fun to really dive into this album. Lots of stuff going on, lots of great lines. I wasn't too big into his earlier stuff, I liked it but it wasn't something I'd spin regularly, but this is really fantastic.

The fuckyes. I like that definition. TPAB feels like a album made by a musician, not a rapper.

Don't understand the Cole hate.

Way to go people, misinterpret my post for the sake of misinterpretation
What I meant was that GKMC sounds more like it was made with the typical "receive beat -> write text/think of text -> record -> next one" structure than TPAB does. To me, TPAB sounds like it was made with much more care and with much more people involved.
I'm not saying rappers are not musicians, that's just Courage trying to derail my post because I don't like Young Thug and Rich Gang in general

the Suga Free influence too skrong
whew
The problem with Cole is that his mixtapes showed amazing promise, with Friday Night Lights being his absolute peak.
And from there he never actually grew as an artist.
I don't hate Cole, he's just there. He feels so generic, like he was created in a lab.Don't understand the Cole hate.
What did I miss? Has he been hanging with Suga Free? One of my favorites of all time.
Hip hop colorism.Don't understand the Cole hate.

I think it was recorded with live instrumentation/a band, rather than the beat that the single had, but I don't think it was from a stage performance.
