Also, just saw one just a bit ago where Batista came and beat the hell out of Edge then CM Punk cashed in and basically did his finisher and won the belt. Ice cold lol.
The funny thing about the build was that HHH and Stephanie continually talk about WCW when last night Sting said in his promo that it wasn't about WCW because that would be ridiculous. Don't think anyone's made a fool out of HHH and Stephanie on the mic in a long time.

you aren't wrong with the "b-tier character part." Ziggler's got a good look and can put on a good match but his bumping is ridiculous and his mic skills are bad. Alberto's damn good in the ring but character wise he was as compelling as a baloney sandwich.
Unfortunately in its later years the WHC was put on a lower pedestal than the WWE title, despite being the better design.

This could go either way, but probably the babyfaces go over.

Taker isn't losing two years in a row. They've already shown that they're okay with killing Bray's momentum at Mania, they will do it again this year.

HHH is finally okay with jobbing at Mania to put people over. He will do the right thing here. Should be a great match.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Roman Reigns
This was the plan from the start. Nothing is changing, even if Brock stays. There will be no cash in by Seth. At the very earliest, it'll happen the next night on Raw, but I think it will happen eventually, Seth will steal the belt, and the two will feud for a few months.
The crowd will completely shit on Reigns, be extremely pro-Lesnar, and Reigns "celebrating" with the belt as the show goes off the air will be a disaster. Should be even worse the next night on Raw. At least there's that to look forward to, I guess.

I decided my year long try I gave to WWE was over the night of the Royal Rumble, and I am incredibly conflicted.
I can't tell whether this image is the perfect justification that I made the right choice, or the most clear evidence that I was very very wrong to stop watching a few months ago.
Everything about Roman Reigns is so awful that it's almost entertaining. It's not actually. He's still the complete death of anything enjoyable about life, but he's almost into so bad-it's good territory.

WWF bought WCW, got lazy on the creative end due to any and all competition having far lower visibility than WCW did.
Linda McMahon decided to run for congress or some shit, so they changed the product to PG-era to try and cleanse the company's image.
Cena. Very few dudes got into a program with him and got anything helpful for their character or spot. Usually they just got squashed and then they floundered.
Benoit died and they put a Raw on celebrating his life, then they found out he murdered his own family, now Benoit is sort of omitted from WWE history where it's convenient.
Randy Orton got tattoos so his arms look like Jax.
Chyna can't be in the Hall of Fame because she did porno, but you know X-Pac will be because he's HHH's homie, despite having been in a porno... with Chyna.
The network launched a year late and even a year after its launch, people are just now getting to where they don't complain about it *too* much.

Yeah you can expect most cash ins to be dirty lol. You're not off about those guys being B-Tier, but at that time the WHC was treated as the B tier belt where the champ would prove their weight i guess before the main event. Both of those guys are right on the cusp of being A tier stars. Like how the IC title used to be i guess. So the belt was used to springboard careers, but that changed when they unified the wwe championship with the whc in 2013

He's not good in the ring, he's not good on the mic, he lacks charisma, and is a perfect example of the favoritism given to large, muscular, good-looking men in the company. He's also getting reflected heat as a result of the WWE squandering a great potential match, build-up and storyline that could have been the mania main event between Daniel Bryan, and Brock Lesnar.
Additionally, it's also because Daniel Bryan is one of the best, if not the best wrestler on the planet in the ring, and much better mic worker than Roman as well. He doesn't have the size or the look that the WWE is known for favoring, and the contrast between he and Roman in these regards is a huge part of that too.
He's awful on the mic. They also give him embarrassingly bad promos.
He's limited in the ring.
On his own, he's honestly totally okay and could be fun. The problem is that WWE has put him at the very top of the roster with doing almost no work to get him to that point, picked over a decent selection of other wrestlers that are far more capable of being the top guy. They have not done the work to make us buy into it.
It doesn't help that in real life interviews he acts very entitled and like a bit of an asshole.

Well for starters,
1. His matches are little to be desired. If you enjoy dying punches and spears...thats all you are going to get in a Roman Reigns match.
2. His promos are atrocious to mediocre. When he was in the Shield (his former team), he actually said one sentence and keep it moving...but as a solo performer, his promos are so bad it's amazing.
3. He's one dimensional. There's nothsing to him besides the fact that he was the strong man in the shield. His former member have personality oozing off of their pores. Seth Rollins is golden as a heel and Dean Ambrose is good for what he is *the lunatic fringe*...Reigns......he's just the guy that walks through the crowds, punches the ground and lays in a corner because he's too gassed to even provide a 4 star match, let alone 3 stars,
Bottom line, he's just plain lucky and it's all about the look with Reigns to be honest.

I like really like Daniel Bryan though. If Vince was honest with his fans (and not outright lie about how he listens to them), he'd make Bryan the top face in WWE. That's obviously what people want to see. Pops like this make me want to watch wrestling again.

It's also a case of wrong place, wrong time, as there were several people that crowds felt were more talented and deserved the opportunity more than Reigns, including Ziggler, Ambrose, and Wyatt in the Rumble. The crowd was hating on the Rumble once Bryan was eliminated early because they realized the fix was in, but they went nuclear when those three were anti-climatically eliminated just so Reigns could look like a hero. Then the WWE brought out the Rock to save him and put him over, but the crowd realized that they were being insulted since the company was trying to manipulate them to forget everything that had just happened.
Basically, the crowd sees through the WWE's BS. They know that the company has picked Reigns as their golden boy at the expense of other guys.
That's pretty much it. They are the new Vince story wise. Just way less creative and less crazy. Steph has been particularly good character wise over the past couple years though.
In real life they are both now on the board of directors, and HHH is charge of all the wrestling talent and runs their successful NXT developmental show. Vince still makes all final decisions and the general direction of almost all story lines, which is why shit is the way you see it now.

Yup that's pretty much it. And it stands out so much more with Daniel Bryan being such a contrast to him in most ways. It makes Roman's inadequacy stand out so much more, and gets under the skin of many fans, especially since they believe that Daniel Bryan should be in the position of Roman, and getting the treatment he is now.

And that's the general consensus about Bryan. But most regular fans have just kind of given up on that fight. Most of the anger about Bryan not being where he should be has now been redirected towards Reigns.
They gave him a mask. Unfortunately it also included a really bad wig and the mask never actually fit his face anywhere remotely right, so he always looked doofy as hell. It was wonderful.
Also during this time they only referred to him as "The Demon Kane," and when he doesn't have the mask and instead has slacks he's "Corporate Kane" because that never gets old.
I don't know how it would happen, but I want to see Seth Rollins cash in and win it at WM31. Everyone is expecting Reigns to side with Heyman and become the next champ (which admittedly would be a hell of a lot better than a straight up win as a babyface), but no one has ever cashed in at Mania before so it would be a nice surprise.
I'd like to see either that scenario, or Brock just beating the shit out of Reigns and retaining.

I would be OK with Reigns winning and Rollins coming down to cash in, only to have Triple H screw Rollins and have Reigns win again, making him the new poster boy of the Authority.
The biggest downside is that Rollins is so, so good as a shitbag heel, and I wouldn't want to give that up...but then we would have Ambrose having to deal with not one, but both of his Shield brothers being backstabbers.
Rollin isnt cashing in.

A bit obvious where this is going and a HHH loss doesn't hurt anything either way, since there are no stupid stipulations on this bout.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Roman Reigns
You know it's happening. I know it's happening. And it makes sense on one condition: Seth Rollins cashes in and defeats a worn-down Roman Reigns. The Raw After Mania cash-in has been done to death and is too predictable, plus it's a waste of what could be a memorable moment (the first Wrestlemania cash-in). Regardless, the belt has to get on Seth quickly; not only can he carry it, but based on Orton's win over him earlier in the night, you have another claimant for the title. Rollins-Orton, Rollins-Reigns, heck even Rollins-Ambrose or Rollins-Ziggler can work.
What won't work is putting the belt on Reigns, and just praying it all works while trying to turn him into Hogan 3.0. He's not there yet and he needs a strong, hated heel for folks to get behind him.

I can potentially see Seth cashing in successfully at mania, because I have a feeling Roman will get absolutely trashed by the crowd the next night on raw if he takes the belt. The only that works is if Roman turns heel. That might be the way to salvage him, and use his heat to their advantage until he brings up his abilities...if he ever does.

Wrestling fans don't like Reigns because he became Vince McMahon's favorite son and handpicked appointee to the title despite being kind of dull and not a particularly good speaker.
But he did take acting classes and now enunciates. So now now his catchphrase, once spoken as "belee dat" is now "believe that."
