Nearly beat Father Gascoigne on the first try, but he did a beast mode Mike Tyson combo on me and ruined that near victory. But he is a lot more doable than Cleric Beast.

I'm finding him to be much more difficult than Cleric Beast, honestly. Beat that on my first try without really thinking much about it.

Welp, can't do it. 2nd boss, second form every time easily, then die. Tried the suggestions about
the stairs area
, but it hasn't been helping so far. Have used two insight to try to summon coop partners, no one ever joins. Like five hours stuck on this. :|

Throwing Molotov cocktails at him helps.

game unlocks in 1 and half hours

have to be at work in 1 and half hours

Have you found the music box? It's an item that will stun him for a few seconds. Really helps when he goes all Marshawn Lynch"

Just cheese him using the tombstones. Lock on to him and after he
fires a shot at you, go out and hit him a few times and then run back behind a tombstone. There's a few that are clustered together kind of like a mini pillar. When he decides to use his axe primarily, just parry the shit out of him. Parries are the way you trivialize this boss.

?? I said the first form is easy. ;b Post transformation the camera and lock on system just spazz out on me no matter what since he goes off screen and whatnot and while I'm fiddling with it I just get caught in a corner somewhere and die. Every time.

While I doubt this is the case, I definitely think there are downsides to games with a rapid respawn and die cycle, as I think it builds frustration faster than in the Souls games where the pace between deaths is generally more measured.

While its frustrating having to travel all the way back to the boss that just killed you, over the course of that journey you usually acquire more souls/echoes which raises the stakes and adds an escalating sense of suspense leading up to meeting your former nemesis.

Hahaha, no I doubt it as well but we're stuck with them for the time being so I suppose we may as well accept their annoyance.
Totally agree with you in regards to suspense however.

What do bloodtinge and arcane do exactly?

Early on they seem kind of pointless compared to END, VIT, STR/SKILL. Bloodtinge raises the damage of your gun, but it's not primarily used for damage anyway. Arcane raises the damage of elemental weapons, which there aren't any early on, but I don't know if it affects buffs like flame weapon, or firebombs.

Yeah, I noticed you said you could get him to his second form. I was just saying how to make the first part even easier. Also, I used that same section to parry him. It's a rather open area, but you still have cover if you need it. I beat him that way on my first real attempt. On my very first try I learned to stay away from pretty much the larger Mausoleum/Tomb areas because I dodged into one and got perma stuck on the geometry and died.

No one is joining co-op? Even with the password?

UPS delivered my CE. Tried out remote play for a bit. It's pretty good. It'll take a while for me to get used to l2/r2 being mapped to the back touch pad though.

Quick question:

Where is the lit window to get the
music box
from?

It's near some entrance of the sewers :-\ I'm lost half the time.

Do you still need to kill Father G?

Try running up the stairs when he transforms, then introduce him to parry and riposte;

In
the sewers near the large group of bodies. There's a long ladder that leads to crows, and a bridge with a huge brick bro banging on a dorr on the other side. Right next to him is a ladder than leads to the window.

Ok, what's the verdict on which of the starter weapon is the best? And I'm still torn about STR vs DEX. I always used DEX characters in Soul games but it seems this time STR might be better?

Anyone know how vial prices scales?
they got from 180 to 360 when I hit level 20, I think. quite early but you can easily farm them, if you really need to, at the sewers. (not the rats)

Shit I'm 35. 20 Vit. 20 End 21 Skill. Time to level up...the Saw Spear maybe? Would that work too? I got Blood Shards up the wazoo now.

The poison set is probably Hunter Gyula/Djura, but I can't kill him. I am losar T_T.
just get more vitality if you really want to be safe. you can definitely kill him at that level though. I also used fire paper or whatever, it adds some damage to the cane's attacks.
and nope, it's not one of those sets. it's called Hunter's set or something, but it's not the one you buy at the shop for 2.5k.

All my friends say Axe is OP.

Edit: Obligatory Top of Page Commendation.
Cleaver is really good. no idea about Axe.

HOME FROM WORK. FUCK YEAH.

Let's go.

1st boss is down, just got the Kirkhammer, time to explore totally brand new content! (I played the Alpha).

Axe is beast mode. Especially when +1 or +2 early on.

23 more minutes... starting stream in about 10

I don't even know hwo to handle the hype

Hrm. It was mentioned before, but with Cleric Beast I didn't use the lock on system, try not using the lock on system for him? It seems with bigger enemies, it's better to not lock on because of their size.

Man, I am so glad I did mostly blackout for this game. The messengers are so cool. Fighting the first enemy and dying, thinking 'welp this is Bloodborne!' Only to realize I had to die in the first place, just like Demon's Souls.

Man I love this game already.

Used the video that was posted earlier to find the Hiunter's Outfit...yikes...those guys with the spears can go screw off...lol

I think one of them uppercutted me into next week...I finally got what I was looking for but it took a few deaths (though none 2 times in a row so I never lost anything)

I beat Demons' Souls only summoning once. I beat the first Dark Souls playing completely offline. Dark Souls 2 was not that difficult. But holy crap, I wasn't able to beat Father Gascoigne for the life of me. Ran out of Vials and Bullets were constantly running out. Had to summon someone for help on the first boss.... wow....

Wait.
there's another ladder besides the one that leads up to the closed gate?

Dammit. Should've explored some more. :(

I'm at the 4th boss if someone wants to co-op, either by summoning or being summoned. haven't tried the fight a single time yet but I won't mind doing it online.

Cleaver is really good. no idea about Axe.

Axe (jumping anyway) semed really good at the start, but after recently grabbing the Saw Cleaver, I'm not sure there's really any contest. The Cleaver also staggers like mad.

Quoting myself for the new page.

Can't really speak on SKL weapons, but the Saw Cleaver seems like easy mode. Good range, good damage, pretty good speed, good moveset, good at staggering. Its main downside is that it doesn't really get as much from transform combos like some other weapons, and its jumping attack is "okay".
