Played for a while earlier and jumped back in.

So...after killing the first boss, where the hell do you go? Nothing ahead on the bridge, and tried backtracking and just wandering around in circles >_>

I cant believe how much i suck im still at the beginning. I bodied demon souls and dark souls 1/2. I love the pace and everything ive done so far...which isnt alot lol

damn this game is good, i only played demon soul and did like it , any tips for the stat?

Man I'm really happy love in this sooo far I think it takes things from all the games. I really didn't care for demS and only liked DS but ds2 was my GOTY 14 ..... I will be playing this game for hundreds of hours <3......

You have to kill the cleric beast first. Then the doll in hunters dream comes to life

This is not 100% true to my experience. I
died at the beast, and when I went back to Hunters area the doll was alive
.

Just bested the
cleric beast
and it felt sooo good. Now on
father gascoine
and the annoying thing about it is the boss isn't really difficult, I have a super cheap strat I use to 100% always get him to the second phase, but I keep missing the 100% REQUIRED parry hits on him (Got one, fumbled the second). So annoying, but I know I'm so close.

Also, I'm using the cane weapon, and I know I should be pumping points into Skill, but can anyone recommend what else to put points into? Thanks!

Try going underground. There are two entrances to the sewers; one's past some stairs at the opposite end of the bridge, the other's past the caged dogs near the snooty laughing woman's house.

You guys are awesome!

Holy crap! Just got the email that my game has shipped and that I'll have it by tomorrow.
Thought it was only out this Friday in Europe?
The shop always send out games the day before, so I'm pretty damn surprised right now.

Can someone give me the low down on how much I could have done in the starting area before
being killed by the werewolf? I collected some blood vials and silver bullets in the graveyard outside, then caught the attention of a bunch of villagers. I think I collected all the items that were obvious, but naturally I didn't have time to leisurely investigate things.

Also I noticed the wolf was at half health when I locked on. Does it start that way? I assume you're able to kill it with enough dilligence.

Also early on when I was fiddling with the controls I pushed something that subtracted health and put a +5 on the UI. That wasn't an item, was it?

OMG
I went straight to the second boss without killing the first, he was a badass, i got lucky doing two critical strikes on him and then i barely damaged the cleric until he killed me in almost 1 shot >_<

Parry? can you actually do that? i didn't see how it's done in this one

Soooo... anyone a bit further ahead?
What's the most common stat for weapons so far? Str or Skill?. I don't know in which one to invest, I tend to preffer faster weapons over strong one (I allways go for Dex build in the souls games) but from some videos I've seen it feels like some of the cooler weapons should be STR based (that balde that transforms into a hammer)

Lol, this regain system is such a tease. I feel like some fish that's knowingly eating off a hook line.

Oh no, my health was hit: time to get careless and go crazy hitting everything.

I love the little desperate freedom to move when taking health, unlike in DaS where I'm chugging on the spot like an alcoholic on doomsday.

Most of the times I've died it has been because of this lol.
"Oh I got hit, better spam a few attacks to get that health back".... aaaand I'm dead

I love the game.. but I am really frustrated at the infrequency of spawn points. I'm still near the first spawn point and I get to these two large wolves and keep dying... then I have to trudge all the way back through the level to die again.

You really don't need to parry the
cleric beast. After you do enough damage, he will get stunned, and you can nail him for massive damage at least twice during the encounter. Just make sure you have plenty of heals and stay far away from him near the end, only occasionally going in for fast strikes to finish him off. You will know you can hit him when stunned because he bends his head down and is immobile for a few seconds
.

Hrm well I'm in the first area and I've found myself in this catwalk type area along with an NPC. It seems like I have no where to go now. Do I jump down somehow or will I dramatically injure myself?

I have an item to warp back to the start while retaining my blood echos. I'm almost inclined to use it...

I one shot that one after being killed, i meant the 2nd boss which i don't remember his name and since the text is in spanish in my version i don't know how to name it :p

These guys are a *pain*. If you get passed them, your first shortcut is off the side of the bridge a ways. Don't continue forward or you'll
run into the first boss. But it's not a bad idea to do it once and die so you can activate the doll and start sinking in points

So, Coldblood dew and the like, should I hold on to that stuff for anything in particular or just use it up?

hold on to it until you need it to level or buy something. def don't use it while out and about. It's the way the game lets you bank a little bonus for getting somewhere.

Man, I am so bad at this. I get to the fountain square and then just lose momentum and get dogged to death.

Also, what's the timing on stunning with the pistol? I haven't been able to stagger either of the big guys on the dozens of tries I've thrown at them on experimentation.

Also also, I feel like the cane was a bad choice for a first time souls player. Doing such low damage really draws out fights and gives more opportunities for me to get slammed.

Father gascoine? The guy who shoots at you / turns into a wolf? If so, yeah, you can and absolutely should try and parry him in his later form even though the window is small. You just need to do it twice.

Shoot them when they are mid swing with their attacks

I'm doing fucking horribly. Just lost all my XP before I could retrieve in the first area for the 3rd time. Game is fair, but damn I can't quite get the hang of it.

Don't sweat it too much, you can't even use your EXP to much benefit until a little bit into the game. First characters are always a bit rough in these games anyway.

Well in honor of Amazon not delivering my CE on time today I fired up Demon's Souls and beat the game. (I had a save file where all I had to do was beat the last boss and I did it in one try!) It's not the new hotness Bloodborne but Demon's Souls is still incredibly satisfying to play.

Miyazaki is the man.

Just unlocked the shortcut between where you start out and the bridge. Basically I've done the path that was in the alpha. Holy shit either my skills worsen (I haven't played a Souls game in a couple of months) or they've really gone all out because I died a lot times when in the alpha I only died one time getting to the bridge.

Loving it so far.

Can someone please remind me where the lady who wants a safe place is? I completely forgot and don't wanna wander around everywhere.
